“It’s been a logistical nightmare and the buying team are having an issue as they can’t work out what the demand will be, if any.”

If any!!

“Insiders told the outlet that Markle also allegedly had her team sign NDAs so that they won’t reveal where As Ever’s products, including her “fruit spread,” are being produced.”

Surely the labelling has to state the origin? At least of the honey. DH is very fussy about honey, won’t buy any blended honey or non-EU unless it’s a particular specified country of origin like NZ for instance. Mostly buys Scottish honey. I might treat him to some Highgrove honey for his birthday.

I remember reading an article that stated that tests showed that almost 50% of honey sold was fake. A lot is imported from dodgy sources and tests show that it is mixed with cheap sugar syrup.

ShamedBySiri · 02/04/2025 22:25

Exactly why DH is so fussy about the source @Lunde

Some of M's copy refers to artisan jams. That's quite a stretch from what it days on the labels: fruit spread.

Edited for typo

It'll probably be an unpopular opinion but it's been interesting watching the media's treatment of Meghan compared to the way they treat Harry.

Harry doesn't get 10% of the hate Meghan receives. Meghan is always the villain. Harry is always the poor little boy who lost his mother and who is getting manipulated by evil Meghan

It's been so interesting watching this whole Sentebale situation and a lot of the UK media making excuses for Harry, some even attacking Dr Sophie.

Meanwhile, Meghan gets ten times more hate for simply posting on social media.

This cover proves my point.

It's so funny because I've been watching both Meghan and Kate fans go crazy on each other for year, insult both these women, attacking their marriages, families, physical appearances, even the children but what they don't realise is that born royals will always be more protected. What happened to Kate last year wouldn't happen to William (even though some vile accusations were made about him too) and Harry. Harry will never truly be attacked the same way Meghan is.

The hierarchy will always be:

-William
-Harry
-Kate
-Meghan

Surely the hierarchy is: William, Kate, Harry, Meghan. All the UK nationals are negative about Harry and the YouTube channels like GB News mock him at the slightest provocation. Where I agree with you is that there is often the undercurrent of an excuse for Harry, the poor little 12-year who had to walk behind his mother's coffin. There are never any excuses made for Meghan. As well as her own multiple failings, she often has the added burden of being branded as Harry's controller because he is dim. It may be, though, that H&M watchers look back on the last week as the one when the narrative shifted, with Harry joining Meghan in the nasty camp - two self-obsessed manipulators who bring out the very worst in each other.

Indeed! She pushed her way into Harry’s bed and family, she lied and bullied, she slandered an entire country and the common wealth!
why exactly should we not be critical?

and as for Harry? Well he’s an arrogant, abusive, bullying, lying wanker!
and now we discover an hypocritical racist!!!
they deserve each other and the criticism that they have earned for every single person they slandered, stepped on , in pursuit of the mighty dollar!

The hierarchy will be William, Kate, Harry, Meghan as long the couples are pitted against each other. It's William and Kate vs Harry and Meghan. As individuals, Harry will always be Diana's son, the little boy who walked behind her coffin. He gets a lot of passes compared to Meghan. That's just facts.

If you look at the way the media coverage of Kate between 2003 and 2015, Harry never got it like that.

The media narrative is that Meghan turned Harry against his family and got him to criticise them publicly as if he's not a grown man.

The media narrative is that Meghan attacked Kate as if Harry didn't write an entire book about his family

I've seen more people criticise Meghan's Netflix show than the African parks scandal and this Sentebale situation

I agree that the amount of crap Meghan got for what Harry wrote was really unfair. She didn't even join in on his book tours and made it known via 'sources' that she wasn't on board with some of what he wrote but she was still blamed for things he said.

I have no idea why up to now Harry has skated by with very little criticism in the media. Misogyny? Fond memories of young Harry? No idea but I find it frustrating. Once he left the palace PR shelter he so despised the real Harry has been pretty evident, an entitled arrogant whiny man child who must be extremely tricky to live with.

I don't think Meghan is perfect, but I do think that all the knowledge in the world about the Royal family does not prepare anyone for the reality of living in that institution. It must have been doubly hard moving cultures, with Harry offering no help adjusting and insisting she was right at every turn.

She obviously works hard chasing success and if only she would listen to good advice I think she could make a go of this venture at least. It's whether she will listen though. Drop the titles, just be real, be the Meghan she was when learning from Chef Choi, stop trying to be perfect and relax. And treat people with respect. I'm sure she is type A, you can tell how hard it is for her to appear natural on camera as herself, but she really needs to stop bullying people. She could be a successful influencer, a celebrity not a royal.

I've just caught up on all the threads over about 3 days of reading!!!

Providing all the ingredients are listed here (and I have no ideas about US packaging laws), the spread looks like what we'd call jam in the UK...

But if you remember, the reason Meghan got flak for Harry’s book is because it confirmed many of the stories that had been around as rumours. Of course she didn’t like it that her own husband exposed her for what she is.

However he is still her magic money tree. Even if her business thrives (I don’t care one way or the other), until it takes off she needs him around to live the lifestyle she dreamed of growing up.

I honestly wouldn’t waste your sympathy.

Legally, in the UK and the US, various foodstuffs need to conform to rules about their composition before they can use a particular name. It’s therefore not about what the ingredients are, it’s their proportions too.

In the UK for example, under the “Jam and Similar Products Regulations 2003” (yes, these really exist 😀) to be called jam your product must be 60% sugar. There are similar rules in the US. Meghan used less sugar, so she can’t call it jam.

The sugar doesn’t just make it sweet by the way. It’s the preservative, hence the proportion matters.

Have some of you even bothered to read all the issues with the woman heading Sentabale.?
The woman who was accused of mismanagement of funds, excessive spending and a whole lot of other things . Too many to list
She used Harry and Meghan to deflect from her wrongdoings
Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good Harry and Meghan bashing story though.

Serenster · 03/04/2025 07:59

Yes. And all the issues with the co-patron of Sentabale too. Who has also been accused of too many things to list, and been found to have done some of them too (like issuing untrue public statements to improve the optics of his own position when he sued the Home Office over his security. Highly relevant here, any reasonable person would think). Funny how that works.

But whatever the issues with “the woman”, do you think it is acceptable for Harry’s “friend” to talk about the fact that she was “not the most important WOC” at the Sentebale polo presentation?

I agree with a lot of what you say. Harry doesn't get half the flack he deserves, but then again I've never been a fan of Harry.

With regards Spare, I do think Meghan was more involved with certain parts. There is definite evidence of her sticky fingers on it. The whole bridesmaid dress saga was written by her. However I think it makes the whole thing look far far worse than a mild argument about tights. I also think Harry's expectations of his brother around his wedding were way off and he looks like a prick as well. Meghan's after the fact distancing from Spare makes me chuckle - if it was declared the best thing ever, she would have taken all the credit.

If I'm honest, I don't have a lot of time for them and I think they bring out the worst in each other, but I dislike Harry far more.

"The woman" as you so charmingly call her has a name, Sophie Chaudauka.

What is it with Sussex fans calling her that woman/lady/anything but her actual name? It comes across as really dismissive and degrading.

They definitely being out the worst in each other. I don't think Meghan is innocent in all this, she clearly bullies people going by the multiple reports of similar behaviour in many contexts. I just believe that Harry avoids a lot of blame that should be placed squarely in his shoulders. I do have sympathy for Meghan, but it is limited and the longer she goes on having problems with Co workers the more limited it gets.

The financial management and governance of the charity will be investigated by the charities commission.

What I'm struggling with, is why this wasn't the route taken by the trustees if, as you claim, there was evidence of malpractice by SC. And if you have examples of malpractice I for one would be really interested to read them.

Mass resignation, thereby leaving the charity wholly in the hands of SC is an extraordinary route if their motivation was safeguarding the charity from a chair who they had evidence of committing financial wrongdoing . It smacks more of a clash of personalities and disagreement in the direction of policies and practices.

What SC has done, is give specific examples of how she was treated by the trustees and PH. I haven't seen specific examples of any malpractice put forward by them.

Indeed @Puzzledandpissedoff! But then it was easier to Shame people into being quiet by using racism!
this is about Harry now , and him being racist , last I looked he’s as white as the driven snow !
shaming people to be quiet about the racial abuse of a woc isn’t going to work this time!
