Ridiculous I know ,but it shook me up a bit,

Not ridiculous at all. The squad are just vile. Stay here with us, we’re much nicer! (It’s why I find the cries of “hate”, “vitriol” and “bashing”so difficult to stomach when they pop up on here and complain).

MummyJ12 · 02/04/2025 19:12

Exactly what we were thinking too!

@RandyRedHumpback

What are you supposed to do with it? Keep your condoms in it? Teeth? Hair snippets? Tampax?

I think you've veered off into a bit of a serial killer vibe there

But they need to sing for their suppers—both are accustomed to privileged lives. Harry from birth, Meghan through talent and strategic choices, including marrying well.

What @vera99 ?! Are you suggesting the great romance was based on a pragmatic choice by her? I wouldn't actually say that because God knows, really.

Did you go to Eton by any chance? It seems the H&M supporters basically pour oil on fire at every opportunity.

I am wondering if the 'he feels like he has lost a finger' bizarre anaology was an edit from the standard 'feel like I have lost my right arm' - because to say that as patron of the Invictus Games would be grim.

Maybe Harry has given it a name though so that's ok?

H&M launched an anti-cyberbullying initiative called the Parents Network but demonstrated their hypocrisy by happily posing with trolls from their Sussex Squad ...

Yes and that's something else we've heard almost nothing about since its launch, @My2cents1975 - though as each of the other things gradually goes to hell we very well might, similar to how Harry pivoted to Travalyst this week

For some time now it's seemed clear that practically everything they do is just pretence. Compassion, humanitarianism, environmentalism, anti-racism - you name it and they'll find a way to use it in a way to suit mainly themselves

Do Meghan's products include US sale-taxes (like VAT) or will that be added on top as well as packing and shipping charges?

I know in the US you don't always have to show prices including tax.

It's very complicated. Each state is different:

I thought that too.

There's an exclusive interview with her in the NY Times, very saccharine sucking up everything she says uncritically.

And here are the two recipes :

Spring Garden Pasta Salad

And Chantilliy Lilli

https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1026698-chantilly-lili

They seem to call custard "pudding" in NY Times cooking, and I'm not sure about the instruction to "Set over medium heat and whisk continuously until thickened and beginning to bubble, 5 to 7 minutes. Let boil gently, still whisking, for 2 minutes." It's a while since I last made custard, but I rather thought boiling it was a guarantee of ruination.

Both recipes have several enthusiastic reviews - only published today but apparently people have rushed out to buy ingredients and serve it up for supper. Well it must have been lunch, or breakfast as NY is five hours behind here, though I suppose UK fans may have had time.

Spring Garden Pasta Salad Recipe

A perfectly quick spring or summer dinner, this recipe draws on Meghan’s kitchen garden in Montecito, Calif., and her fondness for meals filled with vegetables “Use a healthy dose of garlic, mint and whatever fresh green vegetables you have on hand,” s...

Don't fucking start me on the Gu pots, Cheeseball! I have a cupboard that I can't open because there will be a ramekin avalanche. I have forbidden the purchase of anything that comes with glass or pottery containers. I need to purge, but the moment I do there will be some sort of ramekin emergency, and I will be kicking myself!

Gu pots (in much the same way as vampires) only enter this house when someone dd invites them in.

If it helps, I have kicked them into touch recycling multiple times and have yet to experience a ramekin emergency 👽

If a Gu pot breaks it goes off like a bomb. There is shrapnel everywhere. For days 😱

ShamedBySiri · 02/04/2025 20:34

Oh and here's the daily email from the NY Times. Thrill at the thought of Harry dropping by in Birkenstocks to say he was getting on a work call. 😂

"People are talking about the new Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” and our own Julia Moskin traveled to California to spend the day with the Duchess of Sussex in her Montecito home kitchen. Certainly the sight of Prince Harry sporting Birkenstocks in the garden is thrilling, but what had me at the edge of my seat was Julia’s peek inside the freezer (full of tater tots).
You can read Julia’s article in today’s New York Times, and we’ve got two of Meghan’s recipes: There’s her herb-topped pasta salad with kale and zucchini, perfect for spring, and a vanilla pudding layered with banana and strawberries and a light sprinkling of vanilla wafer crumbs. They’re both available outside of the paywall (read: free!) if you’re not a New York Times Cooking subscriber. Bookmark both recipes for the next time you’re having friends over for a simple yet stylish meal, which is just how Meghan intended them."

We had an Esso tumbler randomly do that back in the day. No poltergeists here. No sir

So messy 😮

JADS · 02/04/2025 20:43

That NY Times article is farcical. It goes on and on literally describing every single time she made a meal by the sound of it. It's fawning and boring. Neither receipe sounds nice. The custard pudding with bananas, strawberries, lemon and mint sounds like there is too much going on. No wonder Doria looked unimpressed in the insta reel.

CathyorClaire · 02/04/2025 20:44

Comes under my grandmother's heading of "more money than sense" if anyone buys them.

Aren't the pots surprisingly economical in size?

I quite like my granny's 'All fur coat and no knickers'

My grandma’s best phrase that I feel may be apt here was “snuffing out another person’s candle so you shine brighter just casts more shadows around you”.

Sourced from today's Daily Mail. Key line from the team working on the launch: '...difficult to work out what the demand will be, if any.' Ouch.

Lunde · 02/04/2025 21:58

Is the "shop" just a data harvesting scam then? You give your details to be notified when the item come back in stock and then As Ever just sells them ....

The New York Times article appears to be saccharine but it's quite sparky, pointing out that previous ventures of hers and Harry's have failed, that she was a not particularly successful actress, and that she really needs the money so has to cope with the nastiness and criticism.

Conundrumseverywhere · 02/04/2025 22:04

Doria seems very comfortable in her skin. She doesn’t pretend to be something she’s not. I wonder how Meghan turned out to be such a fake inauthentic person .

ShamedBySiri · 02/04/2025 22:05

“It’s been a logistical nightmare and the buying team are having an issue as they can’t work out what the demand will be, if any.”

If any!!

“Insiders told the outlet that Markle also allegedly had her team sign NDAs so that they won’t reveal where As Ever’s products, including her “fruit spread,” are being produced.”

Surely the labelling has to state the origin? At least of the honey. DH is very fussy about honey, won’t buy any blended honey or non-EU unless it’s a particular specified country of origin like NZ for instance. Mostly buys Scottish honey. I might treat him to some Highgrove honey for his birthday.

It'll probably be an unpopular opinion but it's been interesting watching the media's treatment of Meghan compared to the way they treat Harry.

Harry doesn't get 10% of the hate Meghan receives. Meghan is always the villain. Harry is always the poor little boy who lost his mother and who is getting manipulated by evil Meghan

It's been so interesting watching this whole Sentebale situation and a lot of the UK media making excuses for Harry, some even attacking Dr Sophie.

Meanwhile, Meghan gets ten times more hate for simply posting on social media.

This cover proves my point.

It's so funny because I've been watching both Meghan and Kate fans go crazy on each other for year, insult both these women, attacking their marriages, families, physical appearances, even the children but what they don't realise is that born royals will always be more protected. What happened to Kate last year wouldn't happen to William (even though some vile accusations were made about him too) and Harry. Harry will never truly be attacked the same way Meghan is.

The hierarchy will always be:

-William
-Harry
-Kate
-Meghan
