Sadly Charles is back in hospital.

That's got to be draining. I hope they're doing ok
.

Thank you. That’s kind of you. They’re nearing the end of their life now and it’s very hard. But thank you again.

I'm with @MrsFinkelstein. I'm very interested in royal history, but was always mildly republican/disinterested in the current crop of royals. The more I listen to republicans and their depressing bellyaching bordering on sheer nastiness, and their lack of a clear alternative vision, the more I'm in favour of the status quo of constitutional monarchy, even with all its faults and the less than perfect humans at the centre of it.

Anyway, I hope hope this is a temporary blip for Charles and he'll be back on form soon. I think he's done a very decent job so far - after a lifetime of public service, charity work through the Prince's Trust and other charitable endeavours, and his innovative vision and campaigning in the fields of organic farming and environmental stewardship. And I really like Camilla too, with her work with DV charities and reading. They had enormous shoes to fill, and I think they have done so with quiet dignity, humour and just being themselves.

Have you ever seen Nighty Night?
I'm hoping Megan will ride into the funeral on a horse

Do you? , do you really?
🤨

I'd like Harry to appear in a crown of sausages saying "look who got the extra sausage now, Pa!"

You would like Harry to do this at the funeral of his father? 🤨

So sorry. That was a joke. Apologies if it seemed inappropriate. It was actually a pop at H's silliness and was just following on from the previous post about Meghan's appearance.
Apologies 🙏

Awful lot of posts here fawning over KC, most of them not even responding to the original post 🤔

Oh my goodness, off with their heads! Have you never had a conversation that meanders this way and that? It’s not a work meeting where there’s an agenda we can’t sway from!

Yes it was truly incredible how quickly forgot how badly the RF behaved after that - say what you want about the royals but damn their PR people are good at painting incredibly ordinary uninspiring people as somehow people we should fawn and weep over. Clever.

In what way did they behave badly ? Because they tried to support W and H in Balmoral ?

Has anyone else followed a poster on a particular topic and thought ‘we may have different opinions on things but I value the respectful way you discuss and make your point’ and then they completely disappoint you?

Indeed ! @IAmATorturedPoet, I’m very disappointed to see certain posters unable to separate their hatred of an institution with the person, although I’m fairly jolly and enjoy a joke , I find nothing funny about wishing death on another human being!

yes, it would be fabulous.
I take it you don't know the scene I'm referring to?
It's very funny and the cringiest thing imaginable.
You should watch the series

Not into humour this morning?

PigeonDress · 28/03/2025 09:05

I remember Nighty Night. Julia Davies, Ruth Jones, Rebecca Front, Angus Deayton. Not a programme I would immediately associate with the royals. Or the death of someone real and loved (even if not by all).

no, I was just referring to the funeral scene which was marvellous.
very under rated series imo

NOTANUM · 28/03/2025 09:06

Meanwhile my family member is in A&E 14 hours waiting for a qualified doctor to assessed their tests. They haven’t seen a doctor or nurse in 8 hours. They’re surrounded by older people in their 70s+ who are sitting upright all night.

Continued best wishes to King Charles. His smooth trip in and out of hospital is what the entire country should get, not just royalty.

I'm sorry to hear that.

No @Mightymoog! I find absolutely no humour in the death of another person, regardless of who they are !
and I’m surprised that you do , I thought better of you to be honest 🤷‍♀️

Okay....I assume it's because you think MM is like the Julia Davis character, rather than anything to do with Charles and the royals. It's a bit random.

OK.
it is a very very common thing to combine humour with grief/ disaster so not sure why you're acting so surprised / virtuous.

Sun's shining, it's Friday, Cheer up!

Very me me me and also a murderous psychopath.
It's very funny and worth a watch

Mightymoog · 28/03/2025 09:28

Not saying MM is a murderous psychopath btw!

Yeah, tough crowd! 😄 Now I want to watch Nighty Night again... Also, do you remember her and Rob Brydon in Human Remains? Masterclass!

Compash · 28/03/2025 09:32

It really is a spanking PR job that's been done on them though... I remember, post-Diana, everyone hated KC and Camilla - 'there were three of us in this marriage', 'the Royal Family killed her' etc... Now everyone's 'glad that she's made him happy'...

Is it comparable to Neghan lifting Harry up and creating the man he is today?
