Then I’m afraid I don’t know who you mean?

Mr Tindall.

Harold's sleazy replacement we're told 😐

JSMill · 27/03/2025 21:46

I agree. It’s common in Middle Eastern countries to be titled Om (mother of) followed by the child’s name or Inesa(miss)/Madam (first name).

Replacement in what way @CathyorClaire

Mike Tindall isn’t a working royal though. He has no titles nor does his wife.

I don't think I've said he is.

I'll hold my hands up to chancer and grifter though 😎

When i was in the Middle East I got called Mrs Husbandsfirstname. Sigh

Im surprised by that. In fact it’s not something I’ve come across in almost 5 decades here. The norm would be, for eg, ‘Um Ahmed’ mother of Ahmed, but nowadays it can also be Um Fatima, mother of Fatima. If however it wasn’t known if you had children you would be called by your own name - remember women here do not take their husbands name on marriage. You would be, for eg, Miss or Mrs Anne.

or MamSir 😁never heard my husband called MamSir, so I think they only do it to females.

after a crappy day, this is making me emotional 😥the news are looking utterly dire atm. maybe Meghan's soothing beige vacuous Netflix programme is just what's needed to manage ones Cortisol levels during these turbulent times.

I thought Oh no!

The BBC is less panicky. Just some side effects of his ongoing cancer treatment, they said. Camilla continued with her engagements today, and the King has been working at home at Clarence House since he was discharged. He has cancelled his planned trip to Birmingham tomorrow, on medical advice.

No - times are not so bad that we need to look a beige cupcakes with slimy icing or teeny-tiny jars of jam in enormous boxes

@AnnaMagnani like this

Harry resigns from Sentebale, the charity he founded!

It's usually non ME immigrant men usually Indians who call you Mrs Nigel or Mrs Harry or whatever

Yes. But it never crossed my mind someone could live in the Middle East and meet very few people who are from there so I assumed it was in general.

It's very normal. Your situation is obviously different. As few local Arabs work in places other than Government offices like DEWA then an ex pat woman rarely encounters them.

glitterturd · 27/03/2025 23:16

Weepixie · 27/03/2025 21:36

I've made that over complicated by trying not to offend someone. 😬

Which is why I didn’t say it in my last reply to Teninch. And hand on heart I thought of you when deciding not to say it. 😂

Edited

Oh I didn't mean you ! I meant some random who would pop up and drag me over the coals 😂am I allowed to say that ? 😂😂 need to google!

TenInchNails · 27/03/2025 23:38

drag me over the coals

That's probably got some dreadfully offensive origin story 😂

glitterturd · 27/03/2025 23:49

I looked it up - it's heretics being punished by the Roman Catholics 😂

Mike Tindall is a very successful ex-rugby player earning a living. He just happens to be married to a member of the RF, who doesn't have a title.

What do you want him to do to support his family?!

BemusedAmerican · 28/03/2025 01:18

Unless the Tindall kids are gifted actors, they seem happy and normal and close with their cousins.
Both Mike and Zara seem to be intelligent with excellent senses of humor, or at least what I've seen of them all on YouTube.

The song includes these lyrics:
"So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It's the bitterness that lasts"

H lost a parent unexpectedly, so I honestly am surprised, especially in light of KC3's cancer diagnosis, that H has not put more effort into trying to reconcile with his father. As much as the palace line is "Keep calm and carry on", an adverse reaction means they have to change the treatment protocol...which is never good news.

It is a very lonely conversation for an orphan to talk to a grave. I hope that somewhere in California there is someone who can sit H down and encourage him to make peace with "Pa", while "Pa" is still around.

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 28/03/2025 02:30

I think H will be left with a huge amount of regret when his father passes away. All those years with little to no contact. Depriving his dad of a relationship with his grandchildren. The way he treated the late Queen and his grandfather Prince Philp in their last years should be weighing heavy on him too. I think he has zero empathy.

He already lost one parent way too soon. Wouldn't you think he would be keeping his remaining parent close?!

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 28/03/2025 02:33

I do wonder too how Meghan will feel when Thomas passes away. Whatever he has or hasn't done, he's still her dad and he reared her for years and paid for her expensive education. I don't think he's done anything any worse than she has. I don't know why she is so cold towards her dad. Says a lot about her. Beware Harry.

Weepixie · 28/03/2025 02:43

@My2cents1975 my heart jumped when I saw the headlines yesterday and I was very hesitant to open the article. My hope is Charles has kept up with his son behind the scenes over the last few years because he’s getting older and is wise enough to know it’s important that he does.

Im hopefully years away from kicking the bucket and whilst relationships with my children and other loved ones have always been precious there’s an added layer to it now I’m older. I think a lot about the inevitable and it’s very important that I leave them, hopefully, with peace of heart and mind.

I hope that’s what’s going on behind the scenes with the King and Harry.

ThePoshUns · 28/03/2025 02:48

I doubt it @Weepixie, if they have we would know all about it from the Sussex’s.

Weepixie · 28/03/2025 02:54

I’m sorry Posh, I edited to add the last para after posting initially. But you could be correct and I hope it never happens.
