The royal family

A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

I often hummingbirds on YouTube and TikTok. So tiny and beautiful.

Extiainoiapeial · 22/03/2025 20:17

OK. Nothing to say now.

I've really tried to talk about Meghan and the NF series in a positive way but it's impossible!

Thank you @WatchedEverything I'm going to look!

Charles will never apologise as such, because that opens the door for reparations.

To be fair to Charles (and I really am not a royalist) I think he really wants to appear to be progressive on race. But he really is not. The institution doesn't get it. He is part of that institution, he knows no different. They are steeped in a racist history.

But I'm derailing. Let's talk hummingbirds!

I agree.

I am talking about the UK. Not NIgeria. Yes, of course, there were many wrongdoings elsewhere, but let's keep on the subject. UK.

We should concentrate on our country.

I'll talk about whatever country I want to, thank you. The UK is constantly attacked for slavery, when there are many countries that carried on this practice, well into the 20th century.

RevolutionaryMode · 22/03/2025 20:18

Munnygirl · 22/03/2025 19:28

So that’s okay and all forgiven?

No. I never said that.

Well I'm only going off the sainthood bestowed on Diana by her youngest son and his wife. Take it up with them if he's been lying about her goodness. Perhaps they should stop worshipping her if she was a racist.

You misunderstand. I am talking about his grandmother. Sorry to confuse. My words are about QEII

jeffgoldblum · 22/03/2025 20:19

The “p” word is usually used towards those of Indian or Pakistani descent, although it does get thrown at anyone “brown” people , it’s not and never has been a Muslim insult, it’s just as offensive to those it’s used at here in the U.K. , as the “n” word would be to African Americans or someone of that race, it’s about time people acknowledge how offensive it is.
if Harry had used the “n” word and issued an half assed apology would people be falling over themselves to forgive him?
no celebrities have been cancelled for less!
and other members actions should lay at their doors, just as Harry’s should be .
im sure Phillip might feel happy to apologise for past comments but unfortunately as he’s dead that’s not going to happen.

You can talk about whatever countries you want. But bringing in Nigeria and all other countries will muddy the waters whatever you like to think.

Harry lost his mum when he was what, 12 years old? I don’t think we can blame him for idolising her and putting her on a pedestal. Trauma can do that. It can be a coping mechanism.

Well my words were clearly about his mother, Diana, so it's not my misunderstanding, it's yours.

Another poster accused her of being a racist. That was the reason for my post.

Philip had many years to apologise. He didn’t. He was an offensive, rude, racist, old fashioned man who made repeated unacceptable comments proving he would not learn better behaviours and was unwilling to change. The world is better without people like him.

skullbabe · 22/03/2025 20:26

Honestly, I just think Meghan seems like someone who really loves a thoughtful gesture, a well-set table, and feeding people she cares about—and I respect that. There’s something lovely about someone who finds joy in small things, especially when the world seems intent on turning into an absolute hell scape at the moment.

IAmATorturedPoet · 22/03/2025 20:28

Harry has not changed at all, he just thinks he can get away with it by blaming everyone around him for his own choices and behaviour.

Yes, and he will continue to think he can get away with it all the while his minions are happy to assist him in his bidding and blaming.

He is not a changed man.

As I said. I didn't explain it right. It was his grandmother. I apologise. I worded my post wrongly.

skullbabe · 22/03/2025 20:29

Isn’t it kind of perfect that the hummingbird is the logo of her brand? T Hummingbirds don’t stick around for drama—they hover where there’s colour and calm. I think that says a lot.😉

Extiainoiapeial · 22/03/2025 20:19

You can talk about whatever countries you want. But bringing in Nigeria and all other countries will muddy the waters whatever you like to think.

Muddy what waters? The mendacious pool reparations campaigners swim in, conveniently ignoring the involvement in slavery of many European and African nations, including the African ancestors/countrymen of those who became slaves; ignoring the black slave owners in America; ignoring the efforts the British went to patrolling the high seas to stop slavery after we abolished it; ignoring the ongoing problems of slavery in many countries around the world. That's not muddying the waters. That's the honest clarity that's needed on this topic.

And I did not refer at all to his grandmother in my post, so I am not even sure why you replied to me.

Just why?

I was curious so I searched your username and noticed that you name changed specifically for this thread. Is that because you didn’t want anyone to see your obsessive hatred for Meghan in hour posting history I wonder?

RevolutionaryMode · 22/03/2025 20:43

The British Government, while patrolling the high seas to stop slavery, also turned a blind eye to the new form it assumed in Australia which was under British colonisation.

Also, does anyone rightfully angry at Harry for being a racist also feel angry at his adult family members from whom he learned it? Did none of of them correct Phillip's racism and prevent it being taught to Harry? Or did they think similarly and just didn’t say it publicly?

Spectre8 · 22/03/2025 20:50

Why don't you go start a thread about racism instead of continuing to derail this one sheesh

Lovely thanks for posting. I particularly like the bee hummingbird.

IAmATorturedPoet · 22/03/2025 20:56

Just another point on Prince Harry’s racist comments.
Some are quick to point the finger of blame at Prince Philip but Harry wasn’t the only grandchild. As far as I’m aware there has never been any record of racist language coming from William or any of the other grandchildren. Just Harry.
