A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

Might be fun to have a Gwyneth podcast session. I watched most of her movies but haven’t followed her Goop career at all. She has established herself as a business owner, quite separate to her acting career i.e. a female founder.

This is the sort of shit I can’t stand, the persistent mocking and sarcastic comments. What sort of adults do that? It also weakens any actual real points they may have about Meghan anyway so its really does them no favours.

There we go again. You have to start a personal attack on people about their supposed characters. It's lazy and says more about you. I don't say you are easily taken in by such an obvious influencer and what that says about your state of mind and that you have to come on here and defend someone who you don't even know?

All lovingly decanted from its original packaging elevating it to truly exquisite beauty

She could sell Montecito air on e bay. Look at this one

Munnygirl · 27/03/2025 10:16

If only she could add some edible flowers to the ziplock bag of Montecito air it would be magnificently elevated.

So do we think Gwyneth will be a guest on the podcast? That would be good. I’m pleased that Gwyneth wasn’t actually throwing shade at Meghan and that she has shown that but a podcast appearance would be even better to show support.

I think she definitely will be a guest based on the reels where she posted Meghan - she had a conversation about founding Goop! and I thought that tied in quite nicely.

Should be interesting. Goop was quite a surprise success, I'd like to know how it became so big. I wonder what other guests she'll have.

Snark still happening on this thread I see....

Ah yes, the horror of taking a moment to make something thoughtful look… nice. We all know most people would never be caught dead prettifying a snack for a guest—it’s far more chic to leave it in the crinkled plastic bag and call it a day. God forbid someone try to make things a little beautiful. 😉

I would put in a tin or a jar so that it spends less time in plastic. It would also stay fresher. I don't see the point of plastic to plastic

skullbabe · 27/03/2025 12:31

Absolutely valid point - a jar or tin would be great for freshness, no argument there. But I think in this case, it wasn’t about optimal storage—it was just a small, pretty gesture. Sometimes a little bag with a bow isn’t trying to win awards for sustainability… it’s just trying to say, “Welcome, have a snack.”

But of course, we all know the real point isn’t the plastic, it’s about who did it. 😉

I don't just do things like this for guests, I do it for myself too after I deserve it too lol

I could just keep my various herbal teabags in their boxes but I've got some see through pull out draw type containers and put them in their with some black labels. Makes the corner of my kitchen counter look much nicer and just like what you'd see in a coffee shop.

SoExhaustedTonight · 27/03/2025 13:13

Have just come back on to share my joyous moment of the day!

This morning I bought a bag of chocolate buttons. I put on my beige jumper (because where I live - Mrs bouquet palace - I'm forbidden from wearing colours! .... oh wait, no I forgot, I don't live there anymore!!.... anyway, I'm wearing my beige top anyway)..

So after I got into my lovely beige jumper I went online and bought a pillar from Vanessa's online shop! It was amaaazing! I then put the bag of chocolate buttons atop pillar!

And .... Voila! My moment of joy!

A truly elevated 'choc au bouton...'

Fantastico!

What joy!

Munnygirl · 27/03/2025 13:22

I've changed all my plastic storage to glass gradually as they come to the end of their lives. It's funny how things come around again.

I might be missing the point.
but (apologies to poster in the USA) Americans use more plastic than us ?
in tv shows they always seem to be using plastic spoons and non reusable cups

I put all my tea bags into old bonne maman jars. I don't have a lot of counter space.

decoratedgranolabanana · 27/03/2025 21:22

The amount of plastic bag use in the USA is shocking. Yes there is brown bagging but many supermarkets have carousels of plastic bags and they just swing them round and put one or two things in each one.

BemusedAmerican · 28/03/2025 01:20

New York banned plastic bags a fee years ago. There has also been alot of publicity about microplastics in food.

Gosh that's shocking, quite proud of the UK for stopping plastic bags, it was a long education programme but the majority of people carry around bags for life

Rhaidimiddim · 28/03/2025 10:36

Does anyone know why, in that video of Meghan and Gwyneth in Gwyneth's kitchen, Meghan is wearing her rings on the wrong hands? It if were a photographic still, you'd obviously conclude that the negative had been reversed. Can you do that with video? Why would you?

Extiainoiapeial · 28/03/2025 11:00

No idea! I never notice anything like this, such detail!

She probably used the devices front camera to record the video, which produces a mirror image.

A lot of videos we watch will be reversed due to it so it’s common for rings to be on the ‘wrong’ hand, writing on clothing to be backwards etc.
