Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

I actually don’t care. This may make you think a little harder about what you say.

@FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger

I copied and posted one quote. I mentioned Reuters. I can’t remember why I went with the MCB one. There was no ulterior reason or method. It was probably because I read it last so it was easier to copy and paste it first as I’d just that second read it. There was no devious attempt to mislead anyone on my part, nor did I deliberately copy and paste the MCB post because I was any way inferring that people who have experienced racism should move on.

The MCB quote was what I saw first and I was, as I think I’ve already said, simply using it as evidence that there has been an apology. Because a previous poster said there had never been one. I meant nothing by using a quote with ‘move on’ in it. I just used the quote as I I found it - and as I do normally.

To be clear: I would never tell anyone who has experienced racism to ‘move on’ from those experiences. That is not who I am.

Sorry, but I simply don't accept this. The MCB quote is pretty much irrelevant to the fact of whether or not there was an apology. You chose the MCB "move on" quote over this, the actual apology (from the Reuters article):

"Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term (P) can be, and is extremely sorry for any offence his words might cause," the spokesman said.
"However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon.
"There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend."
The spokesman said Harry had used "r*" to mean a Taliban or Iraqi insurgent.

At the very best, I would say you didn't want to admit that no direct, public apology came from Harry at the time of the abuse. Nor admit that the palace, through this spokesperson's words, which was the only apology until 2023, were covering for him and making excuses for him, contrary to his many claims that he was thrown to the press to protect others.

Just seen Gwyneth Paltrow’s reels - love the cameo with Meghan in her kitchen but think based on one of the reels in the series (where Gwyneth is talking to her co-founder of Goop) - Gwyneth is going to be one of Meghan’s guests.

You are ascribing actions and motives to me that I don’t have.

I have no problem saying that the Palace aren’t good at apologising for any acts of racism. Harry’s included.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 26/03/2025 00:33

No, I'm drawing a conclusion about why you chose that particular quote from the MCB with that particular sentiment of "move on". And so far you haven't provided an explanation that makes any sense in the context of the discussion that was at hand.

Mummy girl, I’m beginning to wonder now why you were the one that introduced the topic of racism into this thread in the first place & why you keep attacking people.

You have requested that other posters not respond to your posts. I’m requesting that of you now.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 26/03/2025 00:43

And please don't blame @Munnygirl . She's not the one who chose to write what you did. I didn't even know who or why the topic came up on this thread, just read the final page (as it was) and it was your post and yours alone that led me to post at all on here. And now I am going to bed in a bad mood, as a brown person who has received a lecture on race relations from someone who can't even see what they did wrong.

I have done my best to explain to you.

I did not tell anyone to ‘move on’ from racism. It was contained in the quote from the Muslim Council of Britain. But I was not suggesting that anyone ‘move on.’ I wish I’d been more careful. I apologise for giving offence.

FixThisKindOfFeeling · 26/03/2025 01:30

Really nice to see Meghan and Gywneth together, so no trouble between them after all despite all the articles. I look forward to the podcast.

Dont try to manipulate or gaslight me. I am not attacking people because if I was my comments would have been deleted which they haven’t. You have said something to upset another poster to try to prove you are right (a bit like yourRFK award comment which was disproven by another poster). Though I am glad to see you’ve apologise for it. You should probably look at the response of the person who I requested to leave me alone , I notice you didn’t say anything then.

Thank you JammyTodger. RevolutionaryRoad makes a habit of blaming other people, telling them they haven’t understood their post or accuse them of attacking others when this is exactly what they are doing and have done. I am sorry this has upset you.

Interesting to see the recent clip with gwyneth and megahn showing that there is no issue between them. It does show though how people can watch something and then go on to make up lies sayijg gwyneth is having a dig etc. and spread them throguh social media and people who dont like her then jump on those beliveing it to be true and yet another reason to continue to write negative things about her ...all based on a lie.

Haha yes, those making up this crap just make themselves look incredibly stoopid. Especially the DM!

Both of them having a laugh at the nonsense together! Great to see 🙂

This. ⬆️ Gwyneth is now having some nasty comments directed at her on SM and others have gone very quiet about it because they got it spectacularly wrong in their rush to be negative. It’s a good example of how people want to see negativity and then run and run with it because it’s suits what they want to believe.

Wouldn't it be nice if just one of them could say "ooops, I got that a bit wrong, good to see these two women get on and can have a joke about it!"

But, no. Double down and pretend you were right.

I'm loving the GP and MM video. The media tries to set women against each other all the time and it's nice to see women ignoring them and getting on with their lives.
