A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

She is a really lovely lady. Intelligent, strong and capable. She's been through a lot, and I actually admire the fact that she did not only survive all of this(most wouldn't be able to), but she is actually thriving. So happy for her, Henry and the kids.... they seem to be doing really well 😀.

Harry has done nothing to acknowledge or help to solve the African Parks atrocities. Interesting how everyone seems to ignoring the situation.

Exactly.

LipglossAlly · 25/03/2025 12:20

P. S. May I add this - I would personally stop engaging/ ignore people who wish to derail this appreciation thread with their negativity. They usually get bored and eventually leave 😉

BasiliskStare · 25/03/2025 12:22

@BemusedAmerican Oh come now Bemused , when Harry learned of the allegations he immediately escalated them to the CEO and Chairman of the Board. What else could he possibly have done as President and a globally recognised figure? 😉. Oh he did join the board some months later - give the man a break. 😂

edited to add missing word

RevolutionaryMode · 25/03/2025 12:22

NB All opinions are my own - others are available 😊

That made me laugh, I needed it. Thank you @BasiliskStare 😂.

I read it first as: NB All my opinions are my own unless others are available. Which also made me laugh.

I think I’m tired.

off to make a cake - not honey cake but chocolate cake. But i am going to decorate it with nasturtium petals and mint leaves. A la Meghan.

I'm really pleased that she has found her joy and looks like she's happy doing what she likes.

What is demoing?

I've just heard the "Confessions of a Female Founder" trailer - sounds fun!

I am really looking forward to it, to be honest 😄. She has a really soothing voice that works well for podcasts.

DeirdreDarling · 25/03/2025 18:08

Have they announced who the guests are yet?

BasiliskStare · 25/03/2025 18:46

@decoratedgranolabanana I read this as a typo for doing

My cooking is currently on the way up! I’m enjoying Meghan’s show. I’m not a lifestyle show watcher usually, but as soon as I finish WLM I’m going to watch the Pamela Anderson one. I’ve watched the documentary on Pamela and, as usual, she is not as the media portrayed her to be for all those years.

Not true that everyone has ignored the situation. And if you go back year or two you’ll find that some posters have posted their opinions on this. I’ve read them.

As of November 2024 the investigation is still ongoing. Have you since read differently?

I really don’t understand the wildlife organisation models in Africa very well. In their efforts to do good they seem to be continuing a form of colonisation. And people like the Baka are refused the right to hunt in their own lands, and are victimised in other ways. These organisations allow rich people to go on 4 day safaris etc - the money earned from that and other endeavours then goes into efforts to preserve the land and the animals. The models don’t seem to be working for the people who are the traditional landowners.

I have read that WWF operates similarly as do other wildlife organisations. It’s too complex for me to take the time to understand fully as it is for most of us on this forum - at a guess. But I’ve also read AP, WWF and other wildlife are linked. By how much, I don’t know:

I do know that SI asked Harry to resign from his position as ‘figurehead’ to draw attention to the extreme problems the Baka and others are placing. But, that instead he chose to pass on their concerns to relevant people. And has continued his efforts to raise money for wildlife funding.

The DM used Harry’s position as figurehead of AP l(when it suited them - they knew about it earlier) to attack Harry, imo. For their own purposes. And now some sm users are doing the same. I get the feeling that most of these people really don’t care further, unfortunately. It’s mostly just an exercise in pointing fingers at Harry which does the Baka people and other traditional land owners no good at all.

Lemonada was founded by females. The title of her podcast. I’m going to listen to it too.

I’ve always liked edible flowers and enjoyed them out but seeing Princess use them has me ordering! I wish she will do a collection.
She has such a good heart, brilliant and beautiful. Working hard for her family and encouraging families to cook at home. ✌🏾💕

It's great that she's encouraging wholesome food and fresh produce.

I'm also glad to hear she has another podcast lined up. I'm pleased she focuses on women. We really need strong women speaking out when toxic masculinity is so prevelant.

FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger · 25/03/2025 22:19

@RevolutionaryMode I've found the Reuters article. His 2009 apology was made through a royal family spokesperson - no doubt one of those grey men who supposedly was always failing to protect him. But you didn't post that. Instead you posted the quotation from the MCB. Which said it was time to "move on". Why did you post word for word the MCB quote (which is actually irrelevant to the discussion about whether there was an apology) and not the actual apology? You obviously meant something by posting that MCB quote with the "move on" statement.

RevolutionaryMode · 25/03/2025 23:54

@FromTheOfficeOfJammyTodger

I copied and posted one quote. I mentioned Reuters. I can’t remember why I went with the MCB one. There was no ulterior reason or method. It was probably because I read it last so it was easier to copy and paste it first as I’d just that second read it. There was no devious attempt to mislead anyone on my part, nor did I deliberately copy and paste the MCB post because I was any way inferring that people who have experienced racism should move on.

The MCB quote was what I saw first and I was, as I think I’ve already said, simply using it as evidence that there has been an apology. Because a previous poster said there had never been one. I meant nothing by using a quote with ‘move on’ in it. I just used the quote as I I found it - and as I do normally.

To be clear: I would never tell anyone who has experienced racism to ‘move on’ from those experiences. That is not who I am.
