A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

Ok I understand you slipped up with your choice of words. That's ok.

AndrinaAdamosballetshoes · 24/03/2025 14:30

This is hilarious, even Harry and Meghan’s official statement released by themselves is now apparently posters ‘gaslighting’ .

DramaDog · 24/03/2025 14:33

Munnygirl · 24/03/2025 14:21

I disagree. They did. They looked for excuses for Harry’s behaviour

They didn’t. You misunderstood.

I didn’t. That is your opinion only.

The revisionism is amusing! IMHO the problem has always been Disney fantasy vs. Austen reality.

Disney:
"Someday my prince will come
Someday we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever I know"

Austen:
Colonel Fitzwilliam: “A younger son, you know, must be inured to self-denial and dependence."

Elizabeth Bennet: "In my opinion, the younger son of an earl can know very little of either. Now seriously, what have you ever known of self-denial and dependence? When have you been prevented by want of money from going wherever you chose, or procuring anything you had a fancy for?"

Colonel Fitzwilliam: "These are home questions—and perhaps I cannot say that I have experienced many hardships of that nature. But in matters of greater weight, I may suffer from want of money. Younger sons cannot marry where they like."

Elizabeth Bennet: "Unless where they like women of fortune, which I think they very often do."

Colonel Fitzwilliam: "Our habits of expense make us too dependent, and there are not many in my rank of life who can afford to marry without some attention to money."

If you're referring to me. I asked you to clarify what you don't understand about my post so I can answer your question.

You did. It could all be said to be opinion.

Spectre8 · 24/03/2025 14:45

And the descent into negativity continues. Just can't help yourselves and leave the thread and go say it on another one.

Meanwhile she is getting with her life 😁

Yes and you are saying my opinion is wrong and I don’t think it is. you can keep on typing I allegedly am incorrect and i will continue to reply that I don’t think so, so you may as well stop

I’m free all day today and tomorrow so I’m ok to keep discussing. You can stop if you would prefer. 😊

This thread doesn’t seem very positive. What a shame. There are loads of threads for negativity, was one positive one too much to ask for? It’s seems so.

I watched the show with my daughter and really liked it. She is only a teen so I didn’t think she would be interested but she enjoyed it. She said quite a few of her school friends have watched it too which I was surprised at. Apparently lots of them have cooked the one pot pasta thing and are all firmly on Meghan and Harry’s side. Maybe that’s the younger generation not being impressed by the Royals.

WatchedEverything · 24/03/2025 15:25

Thank you @DramaDog

They did misunderstand which isn’t my problem.

BasiliskStare · 24/03/2025 15:29

I think some articles about Meghan are just lazy and obviously space filling nonsense. Here's an example. In the last few days there was an article where a graphologist analysed the note Meghan sent to that podcaster. Now I think at best graphology is considered a "pseudo science". Personally I'd call it hogwash.

Anyway it just seemed to me that this woman knew what she wanted to say about Meghan - a lot of it unflattering - and just made stuff up from this short note. It irritated me. Maybe some people do believe you can tell someone's personality from their handwriting , I don't. I just thought this was lazy journalism for clicks. I haven't attached it but if anyone is interested I either can or you can Google graphology and Meghan and Daily Mail and you'll find it.

Now I was mildly irritated. Will Meghan give a Monty Shit , wandering round her garden in the sunshine picking fruit and watching the hummingbirds? Of course not but it's an example of the sort of article I do not like.

Well , I've got that off my chest 😂

Extiainoiapeial · 24/03/2025 15:39

@BasiliskStare I think I saw a bit of that article somewhere. It was just made up shit about her handwriting to knock her, I agree.

@DialDrunk good to hear your daughter liked the series!

Looking out in my garden today, it has made me want to up my game for outdoor meals as it's a bit messy out there (if we ever have a decent summer that is...) I have the le creuset, crockery, platters and glasses (bit of a hoarder in that respect) but need to make outside a bit more inviting!

shockthemonkey · 24/03/2025 15:42

You're right, Basilisk - graphology has to be hogwash because I have different styles of writing myself, depending on the day. Leaning left, leaning right, longer downstrokes, shorter upstrokes, whatever - I do it all, yet I am one and the same person.

I won’t google. I can well imagine the sort of article it is.

I remember watching someone analyse Amber Heard’s handwriting when all the drama with Johnny Depp was happening and, shocker, they concluded that she was a horrible manipulative narcissist, which just so happened to fit in with all their opinions about her and the opinions of all their followers. Hogwash is too polite for these sorts of things. As we see so often, unfortunately there are people who lap this sort of thing up as it’s anything to hate on certain people.

Spectre8 · 24/03/2025 16:09

I really liked the calligraphy writing even if sometimes it's hard to read. I took up calligraphy during covid so some of its style has made its way into my writing. Like others I sometimes write differently, joined up handwriting for notes, letters written separately if filling in a form so it's super clear. Sometimes my writing is larger, sometimes smaller. 💁‍♀️

I have no issues with you and feel you are entitled to your opinions.

I'm still grateful to you for defending me when I was accused to sock puppeting

Oddly it's always women being analysed. I don't remember anyone analysing Johnny Depp's handwriting. No one analysed Andrew's handwriting. Just women.

I was deliberately staying away @Samcro!!! 🤣🤣
nice of you to say so , but as always just because I don’t agree with another poster does not mean I don’t like them ,
and I would defend anyone no matter what their opinion is if I thought they were being unfairly attacked or piled on and bullied. 💐

Yes she was certainly criticised but I don't remember it to this extent. I remember the day of her funeral and the empty streets and how upset people were. She had her critics but she was loved.

If you look back further she was certainly harrassed by the press, but I do agree she was loved
