A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

So no, they didn’t accept a medal for saying that Harry’s family was racist

Yes they did as per the words of Kerry Kennedy:

"They went to the oldest institution in U.K. history and told them what they were doing wrong, that they couldn't have structural racism within the institution; that they could not maintain a misunderstanding about mental health," she continued, referring to the British monarchy. "They knew that if they did this there would be consequences, that they would be ostracized, they would lose their family, their position within this structure, and that people would blame them for it. They have done it anyway because they believed they couldn't live with themselves if they didn't question this authority. I think they have been heroic in taking this step."

It completely crosses a line to go through someone's posting history and make derogatory comments about them because of it. There was absolutely no reason for it, other than having no response other than making it personal. I hope it's left to stand so that people can see what's happened, because I think it's pretty nasty behaviour.

Sometimes I wonder why she has supporters, then this happens and it's obvious that for some people it's okay to be really mean.

I would be more than happy for it to be left to stand, so that people can see the irony and hypocrisy of people mocking and judging a woman they don’t know based on snippets of information, and then getting in a flap about being negatively judged themselves based on snippets of information.

Why are you personally attacking me (oh but I see you’ve done that before). You have blamed Harry’s racist tendencies on his family i.e. Philip. Well it seems to me that the entire family has learnt how NOT to behave like Philip apart from Harry who gave it free reign

Attacking you? No, I just don’t understand how you can misunderstand my posts that have been very clear. It’s either a lack of comprehension skills or deliberate misunderstanding. I can’t be any clearer in my dislike of racism by Harry or anyone else. I have stated previously that I am not white and not British, do you think I’m likely to tolerate racism?

MissFenellaPrism · 24/03/2025 10:56

So Oprah, Netflix, the Cut etc, directly Meghan's story, were "snippets of information" (sic) were they?
Very long and detailed for snippets.

I’m off to watch the second half of the last episode of WLM while I cook.

Enjoy the last episode. What are you cooking?

PosiePetal · 24/03/2025 10:58

I really enjoyed her Netflix show 'With Love Meghan'! I don't enjoy cooking but I found some of the ideas inspiring.

Loved her when she got engaged to Harry, thought she seemed lovely and a beautiful, young American to join the RF.

I hope they are both really happy raising their little ones in California. They look happy.

Yes you did attack me by questioning my comprehension skills in an attempt to belittle me now you are attempting to backpedal.

I so agree @RevolutionaryMode that they had the best experts, educators, historians at their fingertips but none of them thought to educate the younger members of the family. It was ingrained to be racist and I'm afraid to say I don't think much has changed. Charles tries. They pay lip service to it, but hang on, it was only 3 years ago (and how weird it was 3 years ago to the day) that Kate & W stood in an open top Landrover dressed in white waving to the troops looking all colonial. Did no one think... the optics on this might not be the best? Obviously not.

In re-enactment of a previous royal visit. The people who asked them to get in the Landrover were their hosts. Harry and Meghan stood on a balcony in Fiji in a similar pose in re-enactment of a previous royal visit. Prince Harry inspected troops in Nigeria last year in what can also be interpreted as a colonial looking inspection.

I also liked the show, I watch pretty much all the lifestyle type shows as there is always something you tend to pick up

No, I stand by it. When my posts are clear, when I’ve literally spelt out that Harry has been racist, he was wrong and he should apologise, yet you still keep saying I’m blaming others for his racism, just because I’ve said our childhood can influence us, then its one of the two explanations I gave. Given your posts, I think it’s most likely deliberate misunderstanding

NeverHadHaveHas · 24/03/2025 11:06

@WatchedEverything I think based on a couple of posters this morning we can agree that some people are more than capable of dishing out personal attacks on people they don’t know but are very unwilling to accept criticism or observations on their own behaviour 😂

You may stand by it an attacking belittling comment but Mumsnet obviously disagreed with it as they have deleted it

William didn’t wear the nazi uniform

William apparently wore a big cat costume, that consisted of a black stretchy cat suit with a tail and a head !

Judging MM on 'snippets of information"?

No that would be infromed by the four separate, independent investigations by credible publications (Vanity Fair, The Hollywood Reporter, The Times and Courtiers) which have each collated consistent testimonies from numerous victims and witnesses over many years of MM's appalling behaviour towards staff.

Each of these reports would have undergone rigorous legal tests before publication to avoid libel claims.

Its telling that the characteristically highly litigious focus of these reports has not taken legal action to challange the reports in order to uphold their reputation.

It's seemingly a very inconvenient truth for some to come to terms with.

Why r u posting that on here this isn't a thread about racism or William.

Why are you continually detailing the thread? Are you not able to read the thread title?

Why r you derailing the thread? Go start a thread about racism. This thread isn't about Harry either

@Spectre8people are entitled to respond. There were many involved in the racist convo.

How someone can say to you that a person is racist, wrong and should apologise and you read into that that they are blaming others, I really don’t know. Good luck. I shall ignore you from now on because you clearly don’t understand my posts anyway. 👋

Hopefully we get back on track. Maybe we need a hummingbird video. 😁

Well everyone should stop this thread isn't about harry William or the royal family. Stop engaging and get the thread about what it's meant to be.

And yet none of those posters have been deleted for making personal attacks on other posters.

decoratedgranolabanana · 24/03/2025 11:17

@Spectre8 yes people can read the title of the thread. There is no need to be rude or dismissive to people in this way. We all know that threads evolve. That's how it is . Is having a different opinion derailing ? I don't think so.
