A genuinely nice and friendly thread about Meghan

Hi everyone! As suggested on another thread, I’m starting this to provide some balance to the MM / MS threads which have been perceived as bullying and not joyful.

So please feel free to join in and share something pleasant and joyful about your day or any comments about MM / MS as an antidote if the other threads have caused you upset. Please be nice!

I’ll begin by saying that writing notes by hand is a lovely thing to do, and conveys sincerity beyond any effusive email or text message. And nice handwriting is a bonus! Hand cramp is a problem of the digital age.

Also, I’ve watched two episodes of the series now, and I love the garden plants in California. Waiting for the spring to bloom here!

I have no idea why Harry thinks he's less safe in a Royal limousine and going to St Paul's Cathedral or Westminster Abbey than he is jogging through carparks in Montecito or visiting Nigeria or Colombia.

Well where does people's impressions of her being a bully and bullying others come from? People are clearly divided and all this stems from Meghan herself. It's from her....

It’s from the Daily Mail.

You’ve convinced me, it must be true then 🙃

I have no idea how true it is, it's been widely reported in various outlets. I've never said she's a bully. I've seen reports she was.
I join in discussions. You will also note from your research that I never make negative personal remarks about other posters.
I do not ever find that necessary.

But you make judgments on a woman you have absolutely no personal interaction with. It’s odd.

No, I have made judgements about her based on what she has said and done. I don't know Liz Truss or Donald Trump or Prince Andrew or Zelensky, but I've made judgements based on what they say and do.

Based on what she has reportedly said and done, if you’re referring to her being a bully.
People aren’t generally commenting on her public actions - unlike the politicians you mention - they are judging her based on tabloid gossip and speculation.

MissFenellaPrism · 24/03/2025 07:02

No. I'm not referring to her being a supposed bully. You have gone through my posting history and made certain accusations and personal remarks.
I am saying that I have based my opinions on Meghan on what she has said, and what she has done. Not from any tabloid. From Oprah, Netflix, the Cut etc etc. Her own words. Her own choices.

You’re clearly quite far down a rabbit hole and very invested in picking apart someone you don’t know, so I’ll just leave it there and back away slowly.

Yes, @NeverHadHaveHas I agree - tabloids and speculation.

I didn’t know until 5 minutes ago that there is you tube channel called Daily Mail Royals. I clicked on the video and it was an ‘Emergency Edition’ (they said it, not me) taped to respond to WLM the very next morning after it’s Netflix release. The DM can’t stand Meghan, tell us that nobody can stand Meghan, but have an ‘emergency edition’ review of her show.

I skipped through it trying to find the bit where Richard Eden reveals what he found ‘offensive’ about it, but couldn't find it. The offense might have been Richard’s criticizing of Meghan for not having her children on the show but referring to herself as a mother who does things for her children.

I did laugh when they criticised her for being ‘inauthentic, and ‘unrelatable’. As the Vanity Fair critic who revealed the first episode wrote, “If I wanted ‘relatable’ I’d buy a mirror.” He liked the show and made the one dish pasta and cake - both of which he loved. He’s doing a ‘Julie and Julia’.

SidekickSylvia · 24/03/2025 07:23

It completely crosses a line to go through someone's posting history and make derogatory comments about them because of it. There was absolutely no reason for it, other than having no response other than making it personal. I hope it's left to stand so that people can see what's happened, because I think it's pretty nasty behaviour.

Sometimes I wonder why she has supporters, then this happens and it's obvious that for some people it's okay to be really mean.

Lifestooshort71 · 24/03/2025 07:26

I learnt a long time ago that if you keep rehashing something bad (but totally legal) that someone said or did years ago, that this negativity eats away at you until there's a nasty streak of bitterness lodged in your head. You'd be a fool to not learn from the experience, but I just don't give it head space any more.

I liked the idea of a positive MM thread - perhaps I've been foolish and it wasn't posted innocently? - but I don't understand why the past is being dug up on it, ad nauseum. Hey ho.

RevolutionaryMode · 24/03/2025 07:39

Maitri108 · 24/03/2025 00:35

I listened to one of the videos and he's a very nasty misogynist calling for her downfall.

I found an article describing some of the abuse she suffered:

The Duchess of Sussex received "disgusting and very real" threats while a working royal, the outgoing Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner has said.

Neil Basu said he would understand if Meghan had felt "under threat all the time".

People have been prosecuted over the threats, he told Channel 4 News.

Prince Harry, who moved to California with Meghan in 2020, said last year he did not feel safe when visiting the UK.

I looked up Monteshitshow and it's used by Meghan haters.

Also there were the 5 former police officers who were prosecuted. Amongst other things they had sent racist texts concerning Meghan Markle to each other.

How frightening to find out that the very people who are supposed to enforce the law sent racists texts about you to each other. The BBC chose not to publish the texts because they contained ‘strong racial slurs’.

It's frightening. I've read this about certain police officers and other cases. Misogynistic, racist and homophobic content. There needs to be more rigour in every police force.

MissFenellaPrism · 24/03/2025 07:49

But, of course, some would argue that we don't actually know these police officers, so shouldn't criticise.

It is, but when people become so invested, they either don’t want to see or can’t see their behaviour. I think that is the case with a lot of the RF board posters and with the validation they get from others supporting them mocking and bullying, they don’t see anything wrong with their behaviour.

Samcro · 24/03/2025 08:02

Meghan cheerleaders??

There is proof that they have done it, the messages were seen. They pleaded guilty. That does not compare to Meghan, in any way. Of course those police officers should be criticised, they were racist and broke the law, the very laws they had spent their careers enforcing. Nothing like Meghan, nothing!

However, if people were going over every aspect of these ex police officers lives daily, going on and on, posting over and over years later, mocking and making sarcastic comments etc, I wouldn’t think it was normal behaviour.

I didn't compare them to Meghan. At all

They were convicted. It was 6 officers, my mistake. I definitely can form an opinion about them - my opinion is that they are racists.

That's my opinion too. I will be clear and say it. I'm glad they were convicted. I wish that every police force showed rigour in rooting out people like this.
