I really have no idea how to explain that I didn’t start this thread to bait the Meghan haters. There are plenty of critics threads: the posters on critical threads are formed of Meghan-critics and Meghan-cheerleaders.
The Meghan-cheerleaders on the critics threads can’t really get their praise across without being reminded of the bullying accusations etc, and it frequently descends into little arguments all over the thread. So the critique doesn’t get far, and the praise doesn’t get far either.
It was simply suggested that posters who want to say nice things about Meghan should start their own positive thread. Yet nobody did, despite how vehemently positive their comments were. I started one so that Meghan-cheerleaders and Meghan fans can have ONE thread on which to say their nice things, preferably with others who feel the same. That’s all.
I have nothing to gain from this thread. I’m not baiting Meghan-haters. There have been some very pleasant and interesting posts here, but I’m not savvy enough to manoeuvre the discussion in that same direction the whole time. I don’t read the magazine interviews or know the RF history well enough to comment on anything other than what I’ve seen from WLM (finished the third episode just now).
To those who think I’m baiting the haters, I’m guessing you’re the Meghan-cheerleaders and Meghan-fans. So why don’t you start by saying some nice things and use this thread for its original intended purpose? Alternatively please feel free to start another positive thread about MM, and let this one fizzle out.
I have very much enjoyed the third episode. Chef Roy is very comfortable in the kitchen, and Meghan engages in really easy-going chat with him. The doughnuts looked rather pretty with the glaze and dried flowers on - I prefer dried flowers to fresh edible flowers as the fresh petals wilt very quickly esp if the cakes are kept in the fridge after being decorated.
I liked hearing about mango from LA food trucks while they made watermelon kimchi, which is something I think I shall try soon.
I won’t make the fried chicken but I liked learning about the process of preparing it, and was very impressed by the crunch.
I can say more, but I guess it will still come across as putting bait out, so I’ll stop for now.
Id like to add that I’ve watched hummingbird videos as recommended by yesterday’s discussion - I was very surprised to see how neat the nest was- it look felted and perfectly round. And the baby bird practising wing flapping was simply adorable.
Have a good night everyone!
