just realised it's French crepe pancake so eggs, flour, water. At $25 that blows the I don't want to waste flour argument.

I hope all goes as well as they can with your family member @MrsLeonFarrell 💐

Thank you. It seems to be going as well as it could so I'm coping by watching The Traitors!

AtIusvue · 04/03/2025 12:10

Mason jar cocktails…back to the 2010s

Meghan again is ‘so sweet’ for making the woman cocktails.

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/03/2025 12:13

Edible flowers seem a tad expensive they're, just checked the prices on amazon!

BasiliskStare · 04/03/2025 12:13

@AtIusvue I'm loving your work.

quick two stunt lemon's worth from me -

I quite like the soundtrack . The shots of the garden and views are very easy on the eye & the borrowed house is very cute from the outside so in that sense very pretty TV.

Yes the guests do seem to be contractually obliged to blow smoke up Meghan's arse
You cannot slow roast a tomato in the time it takes to cook a frittata
Mindy - too far. This is not the most glamorous you have ever felt. You've been to a National medal of arts ceremony at the White House, And the Oscars

quick summary - the thread is more entertaining than the show

😊

Tracey commenting on how pretty Meghans handwriting is 🙄 It’s exhausting.

Meghan calls herself Meg. So it’s Meg from now on from me.

AtIusvue · 04/03/2025 12:18

Meghan sitting at the table, basking in being told how wonderful she is by her friends (Victoria, Jennifer and Tracey)

‘ it could be the busiest day of the year and Meghan is worried about everyone else, she takes care of everyone preferences and dietary needs’

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/03/2025 12:18

From The Guardian article

"Last year’s documentary series Polo – an F1: Drive to Survive rip-off that asked the question “Are polo players as dull as they seem?” then immediately fell asleep – all but died on impact."

Not relevant to the thread but so funny

drivinmecrazy · 04/03/2025 12:19

I am well and truly out just at her suggestion to put ice cream in a big bowl.

Big bowls are the absolute bane of my fucking domestic existence.

DH & DD1 love the feckers for anything and everything.

Lovely.

But they just take up endless space in the dishwasher.
Can't stack them, can't stand them.
So they take up a disproportionate space.
I swear I could have room for multiple saucepans for the space these ungainly monstrosities take.

I'd gladly smash them all in to tiny little shards of nothingness if it were up to me.

So for that reason alone I will not be watching 😡

Mylovelygreendress · 04/03/2025 12:19

@AtIusvue you are doing a wonderful job on behalf on MN 👏👏

But did they ask if she was OK?

This whole thread is reminding me that show is better than tell.

I looked up the 'As Ever' website and got a weird 'testing page' for the products.

It says at the bottom, in block capitals that it won't let me cut and paste,

"This is a testing product. Delete before making store live'"

WTF?

What's difficult for her is that I AM the sort of person she is squarely aiming at.

I'm 36, have a great disposable income and a young child. I also ADORE pretentious wankery. I HAVE frozen stuff in ice cubes. I elevate my microwave rice by sprinkling toasted sesame seeds on it. I have MULTIPLE slate serving plates.

And none of this is new to me.

FYI I don't freeze flowers in ice cubes, that would be pointless. I freeze mint and rosemary in them, because then when you put them in your G&T it adds extra flavour rather than just pointlessly dissolving.

smilingeleanor · 04/03/2025 12:25

Mindy doesn't come across very well (and that's standing next to Meghan).

And the kids party theme with no kids there at all is really bizarre and made it pointless. I don't get it.

Both of them sat there imagining how much fun the kids would have if they were only invited Confused

cheezncrackers · 04/03/2025 12:29

'It is all about 'the joy of hostessing' because Meghan is extremely welcoming to everyone, which you will know unless you are her father, her siblings, her father-in-law, her stepmother-in-law, her brother-in-law, her sister-in-law, 99 per cent of her husband's old friends or Piers Morgan.'

😂😂😂

AtIusvue · 04/03/2025 12:29

Right ….ep 7

Nearly there. So this ep is with another ‘dear friend’ Vicky.

She’s making her famous harvest basket!!!!!! Rem, lobbing these at staff is what makes a great boss….not a dictator in heels.

She’s also wearing her Northwestern sweater. Rem she’s not just a trad wife but she’s super smart too (it’s not diana cosplay I’ll have you know)

Well she's also selling the edible flowers, so I guess that's why they feature frequently.

AtIusvue · 04/03/2025 12:30

Meg says she’s going to put Lavender in the harvest basket, but will ‘make sure that they know it’s lavender so they don’t try and don’t sauté that in your pasta ’……….because her friend must clearly be a fuckwit?

Serenster · 04/03/2025 12:31

‘ it could be the busiest day of the year and Meghan is worried about everyone else, she takes care of everyone preferences and dietary needs’

This is just perfectly normal behaviour, surely? Who on earth would invite people round for food and not bother about their dietary preferences? For a family Sunday lunch earlier this year I had one GF, one vegan and one vegetarian and everyone got two courses of nice food they could eat. Maybe I should have a Netflix show….

AtIusvue · 04/03/2025 12:32

When you put vegetables in a basket :
’you’re trying to create moments that people can pick from and each time time they do that they feel thought of’

Which I think is from the Tesco staff training manual, covering the click and collect orders.

That actually made me laugh out loud!

FarmerDramaLlama · 04/03/2025 12:38

I’m so disappointed in Mindy, she was ‘on’ a show for 8 years, she wrote and produced it. Don’t put yourself down.

Im done. It’s so boring, 5 minutes of slicing bananas and putting them on a plate.

who would put straw in a kids party bag? If I put dried flowers on my daughters food she would have asked me why I was putting dirt on it.
