In the light of the ongoing tragedy/devastation of the fires and ordinary citizens still picking up the pieces; and the way she is marketing herself in these Instagram posts as a completely self indulgent, rich bitch airhead, the 1 month delay of the series seems superfluous - a calculated move to allow her to ponce around Invictus and launch her rebrand, rather than a respectful hiatus in consideration of others.

Oh just like other celebrities who lost their homes in the fire habe bene posting there strendance at their show premieres (bryan Greenberg for Suits LA and Miles Teller for the Gorge). Paris Hilton has been having her usual over the top birthday celebrations, plenty of posts about that.

So are you going to call them out too for not considering others and being rich bitches/bustards who are completely self indulgent.

Leaving aside the constant repetition of "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" the one thing that really stands out to me reading that five years later is the astounding arrogance or obliviousness you would have to have to release all that detail without first gaining Her Majesty's permission for the plan.

Well, yes, actually, I do have an issue with those others, and also programmes like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
But this is a thread about Harry & Meghan and how they're promoting their brand right now.
And at least Paris Hilton has personal experience of having lost a property in Malibu. If she wants to cheer herself up a bit by celebrating her birthday then I can't get too worked up about it. If I followed her, I would probably consider muting her/unfollowing if I saw it myself and found it jarring.

Surely you can see the difference between Paris Hilton - who actually lost her house - celebrating her birthday, and Meghan who was not affected at all merrily watering her garden in a state with water shortages so severe they couldn't manage the fires?

Does Paris Hilton call herself a humanitarian? No.

Did Paris Hilton do a faux royal tour of the devastation, attending as if she were a dignitary and shown around by some of the most powerful politicians in the state, thus holding herself out as a serious stateswoman? No.

Is Paris Hilton a victim of the fires? Yes.

Is Meghan Markle a victim of the fires? No.

Are victims of the fire allowed to make the best of their lives having gone through something utterly heartbreaking? Yes.

Does Paris Hilton have a forthcoming Netflix series about frivolous living? No.

Does Paris Hilton have a forthcoming Netflix series about frivolous living that she put on hold on the excuse that she was being respectful to the fire victims? No.

Does Paris Hilton have a frivolous Netflix show that has been recut to show her being a humanitarian visiting the fire devastation sites? No.

Has Paris Hilton had to do an emergency rebrand of her product line because the original was a shambles? No.

Is Paris Hilton issuing bizarre instagram posts that are completely out of character with the royal duchess/key note speaker/intellectual giant/humantarian persona she has tried to curate and convince us of all these years? No.

@MrsLeonFarrell I absolutlely agree with you . I thought the initial Glorious Announcement though where they talk of collaborating with the Queen though was in a way more shocking . So hubristic as to be laughable. I bet after their initial crossness some of the palace staff had a bit of a giggle at that. In that announcement I also smiled at them putting "senior" royals in quotation marks , which look quite sarcastic to me , or a bit "so called" .

It was these announcements that first made me think twice about them. Up to then I'd been supportive largely because it was obvious her family were a little difficult and Harry hadn't prepared her at all. But this ... couldn't wait to see the back of them.

The thing with the sweatshirt is proper weirdo territory. It's no wonder Harry's therapy doesn't seem to be helping - it would take about 90 years to unpick this Oedipal mess.

Adding. And I'd be supportive of them forging a new non royal non titled celebrity life abroad. It's the half and half that I find so fascinating, how can they not see it doesn't work after 5 years?

The Northwestern sweatshirt thing is weird. Yes that's her alma mater but of all the choices of colour and style available, she picked the one associated with her late mother in law. Hmmm.

Ok I’ve just watched it. I don’t follow people doing anything similar so can’t do comparisons.

But what do a few jerky, disjointed shots of a random garden and a hose without the rose head attachment add up to? Add in a shot of a dog and a side shot of a grinning Meghan. I’m completely flummoxed.

Is this supposed to be aspirational or comedy or maybe a lesson in how not to make a video clip? I’m struggling to see what I’m supposed to take from it.

Also, I don’t think she is in the habit of wearing things that hark back to her past, or clothes with slogans on, so it is definitely a deliberate choice to wear the same one as Diana.
