Does he not want IPP status giving g him armed protection 24/7 wherever he is ?

Yes, he does. He believes that is his due.
He is deluded.

IPP status is only granted to high level diplomats. Harry has never been that and certainly is not now.

I can't remember who was talking about it now, but Tom Quinn, who has written the book Yes Ma'am, interviewed a former KP staffer for the book, who told him MM wants to complete the work Diana started or some such. She also registered IP for the name "Princess Meghan Markle" in 2014! I think the whole Diana worship thing is both a longstanding one on MM's part (pre Harry) and is just getting weirder and creepier as time goes on.

Yes, in "Spare" Harry talked about her continuing the work of Diana.
There was that odd scene where he took her to Diana's grave, and she knelt on it, clutching the headstone and asking for guidance from The Beyond.
They also had Diana's picture next to the pregnancy test, and in the labour room.

@IcedPurple I’d def swap for sunnier climes & find good consistent weather uplifting & liberating. I think her going away dress perfection & her dress ring.

I hear you on the ‘message’ not being clear but I this is a better attempt than some of the transparently faux stuff. It’s hard for her to win. Is this a better direction?

What is the 'direction' though?

Here's me cavorting around my massive garden with a mobile phone? Watering plants in a state which has just suffered devastating fires and has a water shortage?

As I asked above, what are we meant to take away from this video?

User14March · 24/02/2025 11:34

@AtIusvue excellent points. As you’ll know huge tracts of the £ part southern states really are ‘Barbie town’ where the winners are ‘Barbie’ and worshipped, the Kens pay homage & the sun smiles in a world of manicured lawns & picket fences. It’s oddly fascinating & very ‘red’ yet Meghan is ‘blue’? There’s also an idea that everyone should strive to & be fortunate enough to live in a bubble.

User14March · 24/02/2025 11:37

@IcedPurple you’re right, the water shortages in CA in light of fire tragedy only too real.

This morning's Instagram reel is random shots supposedly around her garden. Not even well framed. I'm beginning to believe the amateurish quality is deliberate but I'm not sure what she is trying to achieve. Wobbly camera work makes me feel nauseous but I assume it isn't that!

TBH MrsLF I'm more interested in what this says about her access to people who could make a decent job of it, even while making the video look casual

As said on the last thread the whole area's stuffed with people just itching to get their hands on a camera and call themselves a "director", so the DIY approach does tend to raise questions - especially with someone so camera-conscious

AtIusvue · 24/02/2025 11:40

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 24/02/2025 11:25

I just think using a hose to water plants, after the most devastating fires where whole neighborhoods were lost due to running out of water is just tone deaf.

14,000 homes were lost in the fire. And she is watering plants.

Didn’t even think about that. Good point!

I think Gavin Newsom is asking the federal government for 40 billion. We know there’s little chance Trump is going to give him that. Total cost of the fires is supposed to be 250 billion. With many with no Insurance. Also the clamp down on illegal immigrants means rebuilding is going to have additional problems. People are calling for Mayor Bass to resign. The fallout is still very much going on.

And yet Meghan is blissfully unaware of all that’s around her, supping champers in the sunshine.

IcedPurple · 24/02/2025 11:41

Mylovelygreendress · 24/02/2025 11:37

I don't think anyone really knows who has IPP status or not.

Meghan made a big thing about it by mentioning it on her ridiculous 'manifesto', only to swiftly delete it. But IPP puts considerable responsibilities on the signatory countries, so you have to be pretty senior to warrant that status. Simply being a 'working royal' isn't enough, as we know that doesn't guarantee round the clock protection even in Britain.

User14March · 24/02/2025 11:41

@MissFenellaPrism also the description of the Christmas tree decoration possessed with Diana’s spirit. As someone said upthread it is all a bit ‘Rebecca’ with M giving ‘my penguin is no longer facing due north’ vibes also. H thinks M is truly magical NB: singing seals etc. Has she contrived to make it so?

Quite honestly, I've no idea, the whole thing just gets stranger and stranger, and how anyone can take them seriously and give them any credence at all is bewildering.

That's a good point. She is going for the natural, in the moment vibe but without the expertise that produces that sort of "spontaneity" well.

Onlyonekenobe · 24/02/2025 11:58

It's obvious what these posts are about: cooking (valentines bagels), gardening (watering the plants), crafting (mood board). The next one will be entertaining (setting a table for 6 people?).

The quality and level of skill shows.

Also, they very obviously have gardeners doing their planting.

BasiliskStare · 24/02/2025 12:12

@IcedPurple What was Meghan's "manifesto" from where she deleted the IPP status ?

itsjustthewayitwas · 24/02/2025 12:14

isaknowsbest · 24/02/2025 09:22

One thing for sure is she will NEVER compete with Diana's legs.

That was my thought too!

Thedom · 24/02/2025 12:16

Someone on X has discovered a very aspirational website called TIG from a British fashionista who set it up in 2007.

The plagiarising goes back a looong way it appears.

IMO it doesn't matter if she went to Northwestern. She knows that's an iconic Di picture. She knows she's been accused in the past of cosplaying her MIL.

Why would you even put that jumper on? There's a million other jumpers on the planet. And that clip of her just gurning at the camera in said jumper between the flower clips. It's all just so odd?

Did Harry film it and she thought - "oh that's mint that I'll post it"

She blows my brain I honestly cannot fathom her thought processes at all

@IcedPurple What was Meghan's "manifesto" from where she deleted the IPP status ?

It was the 'manifesto' they published when doing their flounce 5 years ago.

It said that the Sussexes would always get state funded protection 'because they are Internationally Protected Persons'. That claim was swiftly deleted.

Have posted once before, I enjoy the intelligent comments on these threads.

Seconded! The RF board has some of the funniest and well-informed comments on the whole of MN! All delivered in refreshingly literate prose, too.

@catin8oots Harry thinks she’s exactly like Diana who would have been a kindred spirit. Dressing & acting like her so makes him happy. Maybe this is simply what it’s all about.

The problem is she isn't a young mother, she is a mother with young children which is different. I keep banging this drum but Meghan, be yourself, an experienced middle aged woman who is juggling work and family. That's your audience not young Instagram mums, there are plenty of those out there who are far more authentic.

Oh, totally!

The narrative that Meghan is a 'young actress' and that H & M are a young couple sets my teeth on edge. She's heading towards her mid-40s. There's no shame in that as long as you don't pretend your'e a dewy-eyed ingenue.

MissFenellaPrism · 24/02/2025 12:34

Also, she's not "juggling work and family". She has nannies, housekeepers and doesn't really work. She just....dabbles. There's nothing to admire, really.
