It was her college so she is entitled to wear it. However, we’ve never seen pics of her wearing it before and it’s a very well known Diana look.

You could argue it’s unfair that she doesn’t get to wear her uni sweatshirt, but at the risk of being accused of cosplay…..I think most 43yr olds would forgo the college sweatshirt while putting out a video to millions.

What I will say…..she certainly likes a drink 👀

Edited

It's a bit spooky though that Diana wore that type of sweatshirt all those years ago - almost as if it was ordained or predicted that Harry would meet Meghan 👻 😂

That is weird wearing exactly the same top- why would H want his wife to dress like his mum?

I think it’s all carefully curated to play on his insecurities around the death of his mother. It’s deeply unsettling. I can’t believe he’s the only one who hasn’t worked her out yet. Or maybe he has…

She is obviously perusing Etsy for inspiration

Only in six carts?

Is the 'Meghan Effect' stalling?

I read somewhere (no idea if true) that Harry bought Meghan a replica of the black sheep jumper that Diana wore.

As I say, deeply unsettling. She’s an unpopular character and that’s not likely to change.

I really hope that’s not true. Not only is it seriously creepy to dress you wife like your dead mother, but to gift it to a bi-racial woman is akin to Archie being compared to a monkey.

It's all beginning to sound a bit Psycho with Norman and his dead mother 😂😂😂

The fuss about the security isn't really about security, it's about status. Harry has actually offered to pay for IPP security, but was turned down, as it's only given to those deemed in need, not to those with big bank accounts. But of course, Harry wants what he used to have (and what William has?). And I imagine Meghan does too. After all, she's an international star in her own right. Of course they can bring their own security, but private security detail aren't allowed to be armed in the UK, only police/military/government. And private security won't have the same access to information that police and military do. But as I, and others, have said if they're really that worried about security they wouldn't have gone on their silly tours to really dangerous places like Nigeria and Colombia. It's just all a load of pathetic boo-hooing. Shame they don't have anything better to worry about.

They aren't the only ones who've kicked up about security though. The lovely Andrew insisted on it for Beatrice and Eugenie, and Eugenie's "gap yah" abroad cost us a LOT for multiple officers to be on duty round the clock and in travel. They no longer have it. Not sure about Andrew, but probably. (And let's be honest, he probably does need security, though not because he's a prince.)

Interesting that Taylor Swift came up, as there was a bit of a do (from her mother?) about her security here last summer and she was granted a blue-light police escort, which is most unusual. But think that Sadiq and a few others benefitted from allowing that. They can deny it all they like, but we're not stupid.

Bottom line should be you get it if you need it, not because you want it or can pay for it.

Spare reads like she’s setting him up I think re: Diana’s spirit, haunted Christmas decs, babies kissing her photo, channelling her at graveside, it’s like a less good Hitchcock. If so, imagine William seeing it all unfold in front of him & being completely powerless.

I doubt Harry offered to pay for IPP status standard security. You would need billions

Oh absolutely. William definitely had the measure of her. I’m sure he voiced his opinions to Harry but quite clearly wasn’t listened to. Harry dug the heels in and ploughed ahead. He’s obviously coming unstuck like a lot of people who won’t listen to advice. All that Diana business is freaky. She knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s a manipulating grifter. She even threw around accusations of racism in the Royal family when no doubt it was only ever her who mentioned it.

Texture Swift recruiters that security level because of the that that was neutralised in Vienna just before.

If the security services knew about a credible, current threat to Harry or any of his family who were visiting the UK he would get the security level he is demanding. But he would get it for that visit only and only with 28 days notice of the visit. He already has a unique situation in that security is provided when he visits at a level reflective of the threat level at the time. No one else has that arrangement.

This morning's Instagram reel is random shots supposedly around her garden. Not even well framed. I'm beginning to believe the amateurish quality is deliberate but I'm not sure what she is trying to achieve. Wobbly camera work makes me feel nauseous but I assume it isn't that!

Is it HER garden or the one they filmed in?

StrawberryWasp · 24/02/2025 14:48

Her garden does look lovely and the video had a lovely fresh feeling about it which made me long for spring, or to live in California. (the bird song and water with oranges did all scream, FRESH AND LOVELY PEOPLE, that M's life you know.

It didn't make me feel any warmer about MM. It just made me think she has a nice garden which I suspected anyway.

If she wanted to build a connection with the viewers and her with her garden we'd need to see videos of her genuinely working planting/ weeding/ harvesting. Where she heaving and sweating a bit, normal not perfect angles of her kneeling over borders and explaining her plans and work.
I might actually enjoy a guided walk around her garden where she talks about changes she has made, plans she's had how she manages it etc. ( I probably wouldn't because she's unbearable but it is the kind of thing I like, people talking about their lovely gardens.)

But his just feels like an advert for a nice garden. Or a spring day ambiance.

If we'd known of her love for gardening when she was in the RF, she could have made supporting Chelsea one of her 'things'. If she'd done something like that this sudden wafting around her garden might seem more As Ever.

Her attempts at 'not perfect' are so obviously contrived and staged they just convey fakery .

If she wanted to be genuine she'd actually have to start by being genuine and I really think she doesn't know how to do anything but simplistic ham fisted acting.

Act like a happy mother walking in the sunshine.
Act like a you have a friend who you share laughs with.
Act like you are madly in love with your husband.

She is a Hallmark style actress and that's what her insta is giving us.

I really don't think this is going to work. Who wants this??

I think he said he would pay for Met security when he was in the UK, not for IPP security. I don’t actually think he could even afford the Met security given they don’t seem to have any new income stream 🤷‍♀️😆

He did, but it was only for the UK (perhaps the thought British police would be more likely to recognise DM reporters?). It was turned down for several reasons: basically, agree to Harry and open the floodgates for every other self important person, and also because Ravec said it would be unfair to put officers in harm's way for private payment. Seems fair to me.

StrawberryWasp · 24/02/2025 14:59

She'd should at something like Ballerina Farm's insta.

It's a aspirational trad wife life style, but the videos contain that bit of 'genuine' 'chaos'. Baby on hip, kids getting in the way, mess on the work tops etc.
But she has all her kids in her videos who provide a natural chaos element.

Can you produce homemaker mommy content without showing your kids? Does anyone successfully do this?

What we really want is to nosey. Show us your house, what you made for tea, what your kids are wearing, what's in your bathroom cupboard etc etc.

No one is really going to be interested in indirect glances of a shadowy but perfect life. Not for long anyway.

You have to put your life out there to be successful on insta at selling your life. Make the deal with the devil or don't play.

MaturingCheeseball · 24/02/2025 15:01

No way has Meghan ever “gardened”. At most she’s scattered some seeds into a ready-weeded and composted bed. As pp observed, why no mention of gardening and crafting when she was in the rf? It’s fine to say that you’ve just discovered the joys of gardening and are learning from scratch; why pretend it’s been a long-held passion? So fake.

DuchessOfPort · 24/02/2025 15:06

The hose maybe connected to water butts but WTF has it not got an end adapter.

THIS is the sort of criticism I’m here for!

She would have done well in silent movies with her over egged dramatic poses, unfortunately she does this in real life, no wonder she comes across as utterly fake.
