She used to attended public social events with H&M - cant remember the last one? She always comes across as classy and calm - I wonder how she deals with it all? Think she had a tough enoughh time in her early marriage to an older man with difficult teenage step children. Do we know if she remarried or had a partner after Thomas?

I hated Carol’s portrayal in The Crown, it was cruel and unnecessary. Both mums seem really lovely and warm, i have soft spot for Carol and Doria.

I detest that series. The stuff they got away with was absolutely incredible. When criticised (by the likes of Judi Dench, even) they disingenuously say 'Oh, but people know it's only fiction!'

Well people like me do. But I'm depressed by the number of people I meet who treat it as a documentary. And Netflix know that. They are dealing with real people still alive today (as well as the reputations of people who can't respond because they're dead). The way Camilla in particular, as well as Carole M, just don't ring true and in Carole's case are extremely defamatory.

It's akin to the film Enigma where the credit for breaking the Nazi codes is given to an American! People tend to believe the film version.

Have a look around Facebook if you want to know whose bitching she's been accused of all sorts of criminal activities. It's very easy to see how Wheres Doria can be seen as a leading question.

DM made a whole headline a while back (racist) about her walking her dog and the fact she had the absolute audacity to get a tattoo swoons.

She's her GC childminder/skivvy but the Ms are loving, caring and involved in theirs.

Doria acted with class and grace on the day of the wedding, she conducted herself beautifully. Can you imagine spending a day with complete pompass assholes. It's not like as MOB she could disappear into the background.

Many royals found it hard to behave with sniggering in Church during the ceremony. Maybe it was long and boring but we've all attended such events and had the common sense no to behave like I'll reared brats.

I agree. I am confused at the accusations of 'faux criticisms' of Doria when she has been unanimously percieved as charming and classy on this thread. I enjoyed seening her out and about at celeb functions - she always looked like she was having fun and dresses simply but elegantly which is maybe easy with her beautiful figure. I think she had a rough time as a young woman raising Thomas Markles dreadful teens - I think they disgustingly called her 'The Maid'.

I think the SM / MSM lies and speculation about her were grim and if there was anything in them Samantha Markle would have had plenty to say.

I don't see criticisms of Doria per se (op you seem very enamoured of her!) but bringing her 'absence' up is a way of criticising her daughter again.

I don’t understand the Doria worship. No-one knows the first thing about her. She is a supportive mother now, good for her. From what we know of MM’s childhood - in the public domain because she put it there - family life was complicated in the past. We all make mistakes and she’s as entitled to make them as anyone and not be publicly criticised for them, but she isn’t a saint, she’s just a person who has the sense to keep herself to herself.

Glad you agree that you dont see criticisms of Doria - I dont understand how my being curious leads you to imply I am criticising Meghan - I am not.

With all of the H&M activity in the media over the last few weeks I was wondering if she was in attendance at Invictus or if she will appear on Meghans cookery show. It seems she hasnt been papped for nearly two years - she may have been unwell for instance. We may catch her on the cookery show and her gentleness and authenticity IMHO would be a more compelling watch and bring a more wholesome, relatable image for Meghan herself rather than a gathering of 'celebs'.

I just think a woman who has lived an ordinary professional life should not be dragged into social media speculation and rumour just because of who her mother married.
She might be a wonderful women, she might not, we do not have a right to know anything about her.

I agree that she shouldn’t be dragged into social media speculation, but some of the comments about her “grace” and “class” are a bit over the top. Neither apply, she just keeps out of spotlight which is what any normal person would do.
