She used to attended public social events with H&M - cant remember the last one? She always comes across as classy and calm - I wonder how she deals with it all? Think she had a tough enoughh time in her early marriage to an older man with difficult teenage step children. Do we know if she remarried or had a partner after Thomas?

To think that if you’re told a phrase is offensive, you don’t insist on using it? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/3412600-To-think-that-if-you-re-told-a-phrase-is-offensive-you-don-t-insist-on-using-it?msgid=-3412600#-3412600

JoyousGreyOrca · 09/03/2025 17:07

@DuchessDissasster thank you for that. I did not know it was offensive

@DuchessDissasster Is there where you accuse me of name changing? Because yes I ignore most of them.

Eh no I didn't say that.

JoyousGreyOrca · 09/03/2025 17:07

Tbh neither did I until I read it on here and I was surprised and I guess that's why it stuck in my mind.

Jamismyjammytodger · 09/03/2025 17:58

@JoyousGreyOrca The attacks of Doria in the past on MN were clearly motivated by racism.

Neither I nor anyone else on this thread from what I recall has attacked Doria, never mind said anything racist about her.

| am not white, nor am I a racist, so I hope you are not ascribing racist motivations towards me.

I haven't been posting on RF long enough to know what happened "in the past" (whatever time in the past you are referring to) or during the wedding, but I have barely seen any mention of her in my time reading this board ( a year or so).

Your confident assertions about Doria somewhat bely your other assertions that she's a private person. Either you know her personally, or you know about her because her information is in the public sphere, put there by her or her people. And/or you are in the same position as everyone else - knowing the odd bit of info from here and there, but otherwise not knowing much about her at all. At one point on this thread you were confidently asserting she was the "boss" of a company and linking a to a website of hers. Then getting angry that a couple of basic searches shows she is not the boss of a functioning company. So I don't think you can confidently assert anything about her any more than anyone else can.

She has a company website, a Wikipedia page, is presence in both her daughter's Netflix projects (a vocal presence in one of them) and makes numerous public appearances with her daughter and other public figures. Whether you like it or not, all of this has thrust Doria into the very public profile her daughter currently occupies. You are wholly unrealistic to think nobody should be interested in her, when it is a natural consequence. And since her daughter has made such statements in her latest series as, "I was a latch-key kid" and, "My mom was a travel agent so we travelled a lot", then people are going to have renewed curiosity - all fueled my Meghan's words.

I haven't seen a single poster say she shouldn't have attended her daughter's wedding. Quite the opposite, she seems to have been considered a star of the proceedings. I have seen posters expressing pity that other relatives on Doria's side weren't there.

I find your level of anger disproportionate to the discussion in this thread.

myrtleWilson · 09/03/2025 19:15

@JoyousGreyOrca MN responded to your post on site stuff - are you saying you provided the information they requested privately and they've not replied further? Thats bad form - and leaves @Samcro still in limbo. Perhaps a nudge on the site stuff thread will help. I'll pop over and link them to the thread in question.

JoyousGreyOrca · 09/03/2025 19:58

@myrtleWilson I did not know they had replied. They took a while as I checked for a bit and then gave up.

They replied in under 5 hours - am very surprised that you ignored their response and query. Are you going to supply them the information they requested?

JoyousGreyOrca · 09/03/2025 20:35

@myrtleWilson yes

LaMarschallin · 10/03/2025 08:34

JoyousGreyOrca · 09/03/2025 20:35

@myrtleWilson yes

Yes, I bet they did.
And did they point out that you quoted
Jamismyjammytodger at 24/02/2025 12:51 and called them "Samcro"?
And since then you've been convinced Samcro wrote the post, but you were wrong, weren't you?

BustingBaoBun · 10/03/2025 08:51

Why keep on at someone like this, two whole weeks after a misunderstanding . We all make mistakes and get it wrong sometimes

I know - it's weird, right?
Even going to the extent of starting a thread on Site Stuff.
Most people would just check back and admit their mistake.

BustingBaoBun · 10/03/2025 08:59

Weird you bringing it up two weeks after a misunderstanding, yes!
I was around back then but never gave it another thought, nothing to do with me!

I think that's it though? We all realised it was a simple mistake.

Nothing to do with you being the operative words.

I knew it was a mistake/misreading. As did Samcro. It's JoyousGreyOrca who repeatedly insisted there is a technical hitch transposing Samcro's name onto my post. And presumably gave our names to MNHQ. So yes, I would like to know the outcome if my name/account is being used for a complaint claiming identities are being mixed up. And Samcro has asked for an apology, which she's allowed to do (personally I am not bothered).

BustingBaoBun · 10/03/2025 09:15

Deary me 🤣😂

Samcro · 10/03/2025 09:25

i think it should be mentioned again. JoyousGreyOrca never came back and said it was a mistake. accusing someone of sock puppetting is not nice.
there was no glitch it was just a mistake on Joyous part.

LaMarschallin · 10/03/2025 09:44

BustingBaoBun · 10/03/2025 09:15

Hilarious, eh?
I wouldn't like to be the subject of a report on Site Stuff asking if I was name changing on a thread.
Luckily the post was uncontroversial but people have got in trouble for things they're supposed to have said years ago.
So I don't think "two weeks" is a long time.
I think JoyousGreyOrca is lucky that Samcro and Jamismyjammytodger have been so understanding.

I'm with samcro on this!
She deserves an apology, and I don't know why @JoyousGreyOrca can't just admit she simply either quoted the wrong poster and replied to another or the reverse!

We've all done it ! It's no big deal !
What she's implying is simply not possible on mn !
And after all these years I know for a fact that samcro is samcro and not a sock puppet!

BustingBaoBun · 10/03/2025 09:53

@LaMarschallin
I've been told it's nothing to do with me, and I imagine that applies to you too?

However I 💯 vouch for @Samcro .
She has been around a long time and totally trustworthy

I hated Carol’s portrayal in The Crown, it was cruel and unnecessary. Both mums seem really lovely and warm, i have soft spot for Carol and Doria.

Gosh I totally agree. In general I loved The Crown and obviously it's a fictionalised version of factual events BUT that episode was totally unnecessary, tabloid, and really Bad Form. I have no real opinion of CM either way, but I really felt for her in that one.

MagdaLenor · 10/03/2025 10:00

So nasty. People believe that The Crown is real, or at least has a semblance of truth. I don't think people should be allowed to construct a negative fiction out of people's lives.

See?

I agree with you about Samcro though.

Samcro · 10/03/2025 10:40

i have never watched the crown, not a fan on dramas about real people, where those people have no input.
what did they say?
