As Ever

Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

Has anyone signed up for the newsletter yet?

I have to confess I have - but no branded 'Welcome' email back. I did for ARO too but never received a single update. This rebrand looks a mess too.

Did she work as a U.N. ambassador prior to meeting Harry? Also yes

Wrong. She did a couple of speeches for the UN Women's advocacy group. She wanted an ambassadorship like Emma Watson's, but was knocked back because she was a nobody. She severed her ties with the UN.
Subsequently, she had a strop on the royal tour in the Fiji market - where she was supposed to be spending time with hard working and talented local craftswomen - because there were UN Women's Group representatives present. She left abruptly and after only a few minutes. Journalists observed her assistant in tears. She did grab her loot bag on the way out, though, some things never change, or are As Ever.

Edited for SPAG.

Yawn Yawn same old daily mail nonsense

Yes @FromThePrismOfJammyTodger , that's exactly what I'm saying! 👍

And when I find myself not able to get the help I need from customer support and end up irritated by the constant repeats , the only thing that works is to hang up the phone 📞.

Mind you the same news papers that they have sued repeatedly for their unethical practices, is there where you get these news from?

BunnyLake · 19/02/2025 12:01

strange, isn't it.
I thought yesterday they were taking the mick but it appears not!

Quite odd from who I assume is an adult. Even adults who admire a celebrity can acknowledge they are not perfect, but to this poster Meghan is an untouchable, most beautiful, most perfect goddess. This is how I used to feel about my favourite pop star crushes when I was about eleven.

How is this advice relevant to Meghans latest unfortunate cock up you might ask?
Well she's not getting the right help or assistance is she?
She needs to hang up and look for help elsewhere.

As a long term lurker maybe I have no right to say this, but please ignore the obvious attempts to derail. On every royal thread we get a page or two of interesting discussion on topic and then it descends into the exact same sequence of attack and defence. Those trying to derail aren't even doing it in an original or clever way - there's some intellect lacking there, so let them just talk to themselves.

Back on topic, I'm genuinely gobsmacked at this latest rebrand. American Riviera Orchard was a terrible name, but As Ever is not an improvement. And why announce with no trademark sorted? And when there's an existing brand using that name? I thought she was all about attention to detail? So many questions! Also, it feels a bit icky that she was teasing her new brand name in her personal insta posts, like the valentine's tribute to Harry. Richard Osman and Marina Hyde have said they're going to cover Meghan's new show in one of their upcoming podcasts, I hope they look at this too.

Are you saying such people work off a script they won't/can't deviate from because they don't actually know what they're talking about? Never!!!

My son works in Customer service. He works very hard so I am trying to be a little more understanding than I was before (I too used to be an exasperated customer).

Maybe that’s why it’s called As Ever. It’s the same old mistakes and lack of business savvy.

DuchessDissasster · 19/02/2025 11:38

Oops here the rest of the insta

I think this is sad. I always feel for small companies when they get steamrollered by enormous conglomerates.

I'm instinctively on the side of David v Goliath!

Sad as it is, the Goliath in this case - Netflix and Meghan - are just too big to care about what happens to a small (though by the looks of it, well-loved) company like this.

DuchessDissasster · 19/02/2025 12:13

It's a bit odd when you start to think American Riviera Orchard sounded better than as ever 😂

I do not believe Meghan to be perfect and intouchable. I am not sure where this is coming from. Debating with people that are bent on degrading and sharing untruths on a celebrity/ Royal that is pretty much "vanilla" is not thinking Meghan to be perfect.

As stated previously, what I find weird is the endless vitriolic threads on these two when we have other celebrities/ Royals doing far more outrageous things.

Have you seen the latest video of that woman sharing her latest business venture? That woman is literally shining from the inside out. This is what happiness, having a lovely family, a lovely husband who protects you and fight your corner will have you looking like😊

If she is literally shining from the inside, she’s probably overdone it with the honey 😊

Do you think that Meghan is “vanilla”?

What I find weird is that people who claim to find these threads unconscionable seek to perpetuate them by spamming them.

I’m not saying that’s you, if you have something specific to contribute about Meghan Markle and what it is about her that you find admirable, go right ahead. But be prepared to listen to other points of view instead of just complaining about them.

I cannot understand why she still appears to have no product. She has had twelve months since the launch of ARO. Okay, so she was embroiled in a trademarking issue that was never going to work out well for her, but still, I don’t get why she didn’t use that time to actually source things to sell. Instead, she seems to be starting all over again with a name and nothing else. I am baffled as
to why she thinks this can ever work as a way of doing business. I suppose it just echoes everything else they have done though. Lots of fancy names but absolutely no content or follow up

Oh do hope so - I really enjoy that podcast and lot of interesting points. I'll look out for that . Thank you Smoky

I’m not a Meghan fan, but I really worry about the constant negativity towards her. This is like Caroline Flack. If you don’t like her, just ignore. There’s just no need to pour over her life and decisions. If she cracks under the pressure, yes - she’ll have brought some of it on herself. But no one wins if she breaks. You just traumatise her children. Personally I feel like she’s lost already. Keeping kicking her is just not necessary.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 12:32

@smilesy , I think the truth might be much simpler and more mundane, there is no "product " because they have nothing to sell!

Looking at the list of probable products and cross referencing all the things they wanted to slap their name on to sell while still in the RF it appears they have nothing individual or personal to sell.

And it appears to me they are not interested in anything that isn't cheap and easy to get their hands on to rebrand and sell .

Maximum profit, minimum effort!

Oh PLEASE! Caroline Flack was a domestic abuser who was too big a coward to face up, legally, to what she'd done. Give me a break on turning these mediocre women who cause their own problems into victims.

Personally I don't think Meghan wants anything she does to succeed, she doesn't even try. She finds it far more lucrative to be a victim, not unlike her revolting husband.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 12:38

All these original and new posts the last two days!
What a treat.

LipglossAlly · 19/02/2025 12:42

I will not be derailing this thread any longer( this was my not my intent).
I' ve always been a silent lurker and find this website incredibly helpful when it comes to so many things .
I will conclude with adding that there is nothing wrong with not liking a public figure and expressing your opinions good or bad when it comes to said public figure.

What really makes me feel uneasy is the lack of critical thinking skills and media literacy( for instance how are supposed to believe the news on a public figure coming from a news paper when said newspaper is being sued from this same public figure for their unethical practices and for spreading misinformation)

What really makes me feel uneasy is that an alleged perpetrator of SA on a minor receives less hate than a celebrity/royal that is pretty much "vanilla"(again there is nothing wrong with taking the piss at a celebrity/royal, but creating vitriolic/hateful threads on an almost daily basis is just not normal behaviour no matter how much you try to justy it).

This should be some food for thought, but I know that many of you will ignore this post, continue to be brainwashed by unethical media outlets and create daily threads on a woman that gave you her back five years ago. So peace and please don't quote me because I won't respond.

Snorlaxo · 19/02/2025 12:43

Some people suggested that her trips to Nigeria and Columbia should be used to find suppliers for ARO.
