Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

Keep telling yourself these lies. She is a beautiful, rich, well connected woman that has a lovely family, a lovely California mansion and looks much younger than her age. I don't know about you, but that screams aspirational to me. Irrespective of how well these businesses ventures will do, she has been able to land incredible contracts and opportunities. You have a giant like Netflix investing in her new business venture, I am not sure you realise how big this is.
Same could be said for Harry(are you aware that the invictus games have been attended by Trudeau , royalty from other countries and so on?).
As it has been said previously ,no amount of pettiness, creating bashful treads on a daily basis, regurgitating nonsense from the daily mail will change this. I would also argue that you are actually helping with putting money in her pockets.

I’ve never said this before, but Meghan this is you posting isn’t it! Even their most devoted fans would be embarrassed to write this drivel, no one likes any celebrity that much, not even a stalker, the only person who has such a high opinion of Meghan is As Ever Meghan herself.

Is it just me or were the Invictus thread and perhaps one or two others recently pretty much entirely free of statements on the glowiness of H&M and of scolding us for our deranged vitriol (etc etc)?

Certainly feels different after the launch/relaunch of AROEvs.

Not just you.

The Sidley Twins have addressed other “spikes”on their YouTube channel.

I said yesterday that I was quite surprised at the lack of a 'Harry and Meghan out and about at Invictus' thread gushing over her fashuns.

I agree with @GiveMeSpanakopita above that Meghan's hasty departure from the IG may be related to the chaos of the brand launch. She definitely looked stressed in that video, despite trying to project a laid back 'hey you guys' vibe.

friendlycat · 19/02/2025 13:23

I just find it so difficult to comprehend why she doesn't take professional advice and actually follow it.

The problem is that she is now so wide open to ridicule (and yes it must be rather soul destroying but all self inflicted) that anything she does is open season for heavy criticism. It all feels self perpetuating now and it's layer upon layer of a scattergun approach.

I can't see how she can successfully build anything from here as the foundations are just far too shaky and too much has been wasted from the outset over these past few years.

It seems that she wants to be rich and famous and a world player without actually having anything of substance to hinge these credentials on.

When she was an actress she had a career. Then she married PH and they both blew up the royal "stardom" factor and now they just flounder around lurching from one thing to another.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 19/02/2025 13:24

At least we know where their staff costs go, because it certainly isn't in business/branding.

What also makes H&M different to other celebrities is that they cost the UK money. The upcoming court case will be born by the UK taxpayer, and his expectations that he should have full police protection paid for by us, also makes me more interested in what they do - and more critical.

“If you don’t like her, just ignore. “

The last thing Meghan wants is to be ignored!

If anyone can recommend a purveyor of authentic French croissants in the UK I would travel many miles for one. They are universally disappointing otherwise. Dry and flaky, flavourless. A travesty.

Here you go, Ohpleeeese; I don't know where you're based, but they're in Birmingham so reasonably central: https://www.independent-birmingham.co.uk/profile/levain-and-cherry/

The crucial point is that unlike most they use proper Viron flour. Others yammer on about "pure butter" but then cheap out on the flour and they'll never be the same

This launch and the previous one is a complete checklist of what not to do!

Do they not have staff?

Because this level of spaffery just screams kitchen table business!

Well, we know that Meghan never listens to advice but this business is supposedly being run in partnership with NF. You would think they would have insisted on a more professional roll out.

I don't think NF wants a professional role out- the more ridiculous, the more coverage, the more likely people will access NF to see what is going on. There is nothing to lose for NF now.

They just have to count down the clock to September or whenever it is, and they're rid of the pair of them.

Maybe, but NF have already embarrassed themselves with this contract, so I'm not sure they'd want their name to be associated with such a shambles.

I agree that there's not much for them to lose. I suspect they've already given up on 'Archewell Productions'.

Thank you so much! I need to think of an excuse to visit Birmingham - when is Invictus again?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/02/2025 13:45

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 11:39

@Puzzledandpissedoff , because there is already an as ever clothing line and they were rather upset ! So they have been subtly posting "as ever original " .

Yes, I'm just catching up on what the existing company posted, jeff, and looking on the bright side it's certainly brought them attention!!

This launch and the previous one is a complete checklist of what not to do

Very true, but someone said earlier that they'd be used in tutorials about what mistakes to avoid and I've never been sure about that. It seems to me so obvious that it hardly teaches much, and surely better examples would be those that looked like a good idea at the time but turned out not to be?

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 13:46

Very true @Puzzledandpissedoff !
Shame it had to happen at all though!

TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack · 19/02/2025 13:59

Great use of the word spaffery @jeffgoldblum underused that!

How is nobody advising her / them that they are utterly incompetent? For the following reasons:

Launching without a trademarked name
Launching a company named the same as an existing company in NYC
Launching without any product which means, presumably
Launching without any logistics organised to pick, pack, ship, SELL anything
Using a logo so similar to a town's logo that they're considering legal action
Using a name that when put in a search engine or search bar is asever

That's before you even get to the inappropriately, pally, breathless Insta post and drizzling honey on a croissant, who even does that?!

It's like an exercise in how not to do it.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 14:08

Why thank you ☺️ @TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack!
The amount of mistakes and errors in 2025 alone is outstanding!
It's like watching a snowball rolling into hell!

What next?
Although my sympathies are limited they need to rein it in now , the way things are going it's only getting worse!

Now is the time for Harry to step up as the apparent loving husband he is and put the breaks on before Meghan has a breakdown, she doesn't understand that the more she pushes the more she will be pushed back harder!
For their and her sake it needs to stop!

Aso: launched without making sure they had already taken out all potential/likely unofficial versions of “As Ever” on various social media platforms.

Quite . I am sure the original As Ever are happy with their NYC suffix but I do think it is a bit cheeky for Meghan to nab aseveroriginal - when the small clothing company was obviously way before her. Am I right she has taken that or is she asevermeg I can't keep up 😊

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 19/02/2025 14:21

As well as the blank jam and the stray thread- I don't think the shadows are right in the garden compared to the bowls.

(I am currently in hospital, nil by mouth- I genuinely have nothing else to do before any jumps on me to get a life)

As Ever
Janiie · 19/02/2025 14:21

'As stated previously, what I find weird is the endless vitriolic threads on these two when we have other celebrities/ Royals doing far more outrageous things'

I don't think any other royals have thrown crap at their family publicly and repeatedly all to earn money to live in a mansion. It's the very opposite thing of living an authentic life imo. It s a bit grabby and shallow.

I’m not a Meghan fan, but I really worry about the constant negativity towards her. This is like Caroline Flack. If you don’t like her, just ignore. There’s just no need to pour over her life and decisions. If she cracks under the pressure, yes - she’ll have brought some of it on herself. But no one wins if she breaks. You just traumatise her children. Personally I feel like she’s lost already. Keeping kicking her is just not necessary.

I am the opposite of a Meghan Markle fan, and have thought exactly this many times myself. Personally, I've never commented on looks (although I have sniggered to myself at comments that her children must be beautiful because she is: the lady has had so much surgery/intervention who can even tell what her genetics are at this point); and in my book her children and marriage are nobody's business but hers and her husband's (sweet nod to Meghan there, I know how she only refers to people by their connection to her for she is the center of the universe). Her "professional" endeavours are another matter, as she puts them out there herself.

It's an odd thing online that many different people holding similar strong views feels like bullying or a pile-on. Each individual poster may or may not have read what went before, and isn't obliged to find out. Everyone feels (is?) entitled to say their piece. This simply wouldn't have happened pre-internet. I don't know how it could be controlled, and have concluded that it can't be so the best thing is to control your own reaction to it. Some people manage this successfully. Others don't and end up paying a heavy price (shockingly cruel comment upthread about Caroline Flack btw).

Ultimately, if she chooses to live by the sword she should be prepared to die by the sword (not literally of course!). She is now actually using social media for personal profit. Before that, she has regularly used PR and TV and print press to put messages out there in a way that she felt in control. If she wants to enter the fray she has to be prepared to fight.

A sensible person would stay well clear of it all.
