Meghan has renamed her luxury lifestyle brand 'As Ever'.

'As Ever essentially means as it's always been, and if you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,' she said. '

I’m not a Meghan fan, but I really worry about the constant negativity towards her. This is like Caroline Flack. If you don’t like her, just ignore. There’s just no need to pour over her life and decisions. If she cracks under the pressure, yes - she’ll have brought some of it on herself. But no one wins if she breaks. You just traumatise her children. Personally I feel like she’s lost already. Keeping kicking her is just not necessary.

I agree that the constant negativity must be a great pressure. Like you, I’m not entirely comfortable with some of it. But she is reaping what she sowed. For years she has had the opportunity to mend what she broke, but has chosen not to.

@smilesy , I think the truth might be much simpler and more mundane, there is no "product " because they have nothing to sell!

Looking at the list of probable products and cross referencing all the things they wanted to slap their name on to sell while still in the RF it appears they have nothing individual or personal to sell.

And it appears to me they are not interested in anything that isn't cheap and easy to get their hands on to rebrand and sell .

Maximum profit, minimum effort!

Oh I quite agree they have nothing individual to sell. I was more thinking that they have nothing at all to sell. It’s all “pie in the sky this is the type of thing we are going to offer” shtick but absolutely nothing of substance. It’s all arse about face. I’m sure everyone who launches a business has a good name they have thought up, but surely there should be something to actually sell first 🤷‍♀️

All these original and new posts the last two days!
What a treat.

Yeah I've never understood people who stan a woman who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. It's absolutely pathetic.

Honestly I understand fandoms and have liked actors etc for years for their work and themselves as people on my own personal experiences with them, but stanning someone who clearly despises anyone she can't stand on to grab something she thinks she's entitled to. No way!

Perhaps The Meg pinched 'As Ever' from Neil Sean.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. 😄

Keep telling yourself these lies. She is a beautiful, rich, well connected woman that has a lovely family, a lovely California mansion and looks much younger than her age. I don't know about you, but that screams aspirational to me. Irrespective of how well these businesses ventures will do, she has been able to land incredible contracts and opportunities. You have a giant like Netflix investing in her new business venture, I am not sure you realise how big this is.
Same could be said for Harry(are you aware that the invictus games have been attended by Trudeau , royalty from other countries and so on?).
As it has been said previously ,no amount of pettiness, creating bashful treads on a daily basis, regurgitating nonsense from the daily mail will change this. I would also argue that you are actually helping with putting money in her pockets.

You are getting more humours by the minute

I will not be derailing this thread any longer( this was my not my intent).
I' ve always been a silent lurker and find this website incredibly helpful when it comes to so many things .
I will conclude with adding that there is nothing wrong with not liking a public figure and expressing your opinions good or bad when it comes to said public figure.

What really makes me feel uneasy is the lack of critical thinking skills and media literacy( for instance how are supposed to believe the news on a public figure coming from a news paper when said newspaper is being sued from this same public figure for their unethical practices and for spreading misinformation)

What really makes me feel uneasy is that an alleged perpetrator of SA on a minor receives less hate than a celebrity/royal that is pretty much "vanilla"(again there is nothing wrong with taking the piss at a celebrity/royal, but creating vitriolic/hateful threads on an almost daily basis is just not normal behaviour no matter how much you try to justy it).

This should be some food for thought, but I know that many of you will ignore this post, continue to be brainwashed by unethical media outlets and create daily threads on a woman that gave you her back five years ago. So peace and please don't quote me because I won't respond.

Oh give over, you virtue signalling twonk.

Meghan Markle has shown us who she is over and over by her OWN actions. She's no misrepresented little shining flower. She's an elder abusing, lying, vulgar , greedy hustler. She'd climb on her own mother if she thought she could grab something she hasn't already grabbed.

Munnygirl · 19/02/2025 12:49

LipglossAlly · 19/02/2025 11:21

Have you seen the latest video of that woman sharing her latest business venture? That woman is literally shining from the inside out. This is what happiness, having a lovely family, a lovely husband who protects you and fight your corner will have you looking like😊

You really are the gift that keeps on giving. You’ve really cheered up a gloomy Wednesday and filled it with laughter

Thedom · 19/02/2025 12:49

smilesy · 19/02/2025 12:19

If she is literally shining from the inside, she’s probably overdone it with the honey 😊

Combined with the megawatt teeth, literally blinding, sunglasses needed for the shine from the inside..

Vespanest · 19/02/2025 12:54

At what point is being kind allowing the behaviour of anything but kindness. I'm more anti Harry behaviour than meghans but there has been quite a few instances that Meghan is more ruthless than kind. The ARO wasn't organic it came about after a failed investment offer to flamingo estate, and was heavily influenced by that brand. There is no kindness in attempting to trade mark for exclusivity a name that is in use already. This is before you even get to the new bullying accusations.

smilesy · 19/02/2025 12:55

Thedom · 19/02/2025 12:49

Indeed. Maybe it can only be seen that she is “literally shining from the inside” because some think that the sun is literally shining from some other orifice too 🤪

FromThePrismOfJammyTodger · 19/02/2025 12:55

Perhaps you should apply some of those critical thinking skills. The papers were being sued for historic phone hacking. Not for spreading disinformation currently, ie, libel. New groups are not going to risk even more time and money on legal fees by maliciously spreading libelous rumours about somebody suing them for practices they no longer carry out. There's no logic in taking such a course of action. Because they would just get sued again, wouldn't they, for libel? Modern news rooms use lawyers to look at anything contentious, particularly wrt the RF. Believe it or not, they don't just print lies, or they would be constantly sued.

This idiotic line of argument is trotted out again and again. It's boring.

Yes she did

She did not. She was never a UN Ambassador.

Then she really needs to stop handing herself on a platter. Why say for years she hasn't been able to do anything - people have interpreted that as a dig and I can see no other reason why she’d say it. Firstly she’s been out of the RF far longer than she was in it, so she’s had plenty of years to do something and secondly she made no attempt to explain what she meant by that. She is always performing, she’s like the dancer with the red shoes, she just can’t stop herself.

I find comments like this rather vapid and delusional, if I am being completely honest.

Anyway when you are trying to sell a certain lifestyle a la Martha Stewart, it doesn't matter if you don't find these things aspirational, what matters is finding an audience that would find that kind of lifestyle aspirational and stick to your audience. You are not her audience. It is as simple as that.

Martha Stewart is hard working and very good at what she does. She's also been in the business for decades. Meghan is none of those things.

I do find it amusing that we're supposed to forget all her lofty ideals of changing the world and instead pretend that all she wanted to do all along was drizzle honey on croissants.

She would have been far better off if dhe’d go e down the croissant route in the first place. No backstabbing, no whining, no veiled threats in articles. Just plastered that smile on and gone down the aspirational life style route.

I knew she was full of spiteful, self pitying bullshit when she complained (twice) at having to learn the National Anthem by herself. It was obvious from that she was going to nit pick and complain about every perceived slight.

IcedPurple · 19/02/2025 13:04

Janiie · 19/02/2025 11:20

I don't like picking oved her looks, she is just an attractive 40plus year old.

It has always been their behaviour not how they look that has caused the many issues.

I think making jam and crafting sounds very pleasant. It's a shame it is all launched with such a gushing, breathless, contrived style. Maybe it's an American thing and they all do it i don't know. I'm not being xenophobic and I haven't looked at other influencers from the US but perhaps that is how they do it.

I agree that she looks perfectly fine and that her looks aren't really the issue. Although that said, when you're going into the aspirational lifestyle business, how you look does matter quite a bit.

It's just that her superfans are going on about how we're all jealous of how incredibly gorgeous she is. To me she's attractive but not outstandingly beautiful, which is fine but nothing to be 'jealous' of.

As for your other point, I don't think she will be "making jam and crafting" will she? It sounds to me as though she'll just be putting her name on produce made by others. She'd have to have a licence and had her premises inspected to produce food, and I very much doubt that has happened.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 13:07

Ok I will bite just once @LipglossAlly , are you now comparing Meghan to Caroline flack ? 🤣🤣🤣
Do you even know who she is? Her history?
Or are you parroting another posters post?

If not then as far as I'm aware Meghan is not a violent domestic abuser , who is about to got to court and likely be imprisoned for violently beating Harry!

And if this does come to pass any fallout will be her own fault and decision! 🙄

Sorry but no. There is no rule that you have to ignore someone just because you don't like them. People who choose to put themselves in the public eye cannot expect only sweetness and light. Your post is an attempt at emotional blackmail, complete with 'please think of the children'.

Is it just me or were the Invictus thread and perhaps one or two others recently pretty much entirely free of statements on the glowiness of H&M and of scolding us for our deranged vitriol (etc etc)?

Certainly feels different after the launch/relaunch of AROEvs.

jeffgoldblum · 19/02/2025 13:13

I can't help but wonder if there was such handwringing and talk of be kind when Epstein killed himself? No
And before people howl it's different! How exactly?
Yes the crimes were different but the fact is both did what they did because their crimes were discovered and neither could face the punishment!

Thedom · 19/02/2025 13:13

This rebrand seems to be outstripping ARO in its ineptitude, it just beggars belief they could get their 2nd chance so monumentally wrong.

It's a massive screw up, no matter how you look at it.

This launch and the previous one is a complete checklist of what not to do!

Do they not have staff?

Because this level of spaffery just screams kitchen table business!
