I’m not Meghan but what if she was only trying to help?

CatsWhiskerz · 13/02/2025 08:47

She moves everyone to where she feels the 'best shot' for her / Harry is @smilesy - I honestly think she thought it was ok to do that ... mainly because she's a self centred arse, but of course she's wrong, it is tantamount to pulling someone standing backwards or shoving them sideways - she's so bloody rude

Remember the polo match where she wouldn’t let a woman stand beside Harry as she wanted to be in the centre ?

Catherine wearing a dress, not branded clothing, at Wimbledon.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ceqd5yyp159o

There were several suggestions in various press outlets that this dress was a re-wear, modified to hide the position of the PoW's stent. Probably branded clothing at this point in her life would not have been appropriate or comfortable. The dress was in the colours of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet club.

Very interesting that we have had day after day of slip ups and no defence in sight!

Now after Meghan goes home and deleted the pictures from instagram, we have two !

Do we know which pictures were deleted and has anyone any idea why?

smilesy · 13/02/2025 10:25

GiveMeSpanakopita · 13/02/2025 08:46

Oh yes absolutely @smilesy , and to be clear I wasn't defending the action Meghan took.

I wouldn't like being suddenly 'moved' by a third party, so of course people who happen to use wheelchairs don't, either!

I was just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt as to her intentions.

In general I always try to give Meghan as much BOD as possible. It's a helpful mindframe to have, given that valid criticism of her is often characterised as unreasonable hate.

I agree that it’s useful to give her the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to clips from SM that do not show the full context of what happened. I usually don’t comment on these because of that. However, in this case, unless she asked the lady’s permission to move her, and I see no evidence of that regardless of context, Meghan was absolutely in the wrong whether her intention was to give the lady more room or just pull her out of the way. You do not move someone in a chair without their permission unless it’s an emergency. And not just an emergency need to get the best photo 😆

People are making a good point about the focus of Meghan's Instagram posts. They all centre her and Harry, none of it focuses on the games or the competitors. Her new PR really need to explain how this comes across.

Well we know that is par for the course for her especially after the LA fires. This is her MO. From sitting on old blokes' knees years ago to today it is always about her.

smilesy · 13/02/2025 08:38

But, the alleged wheelchair shoving incident went down very badly (I saw the footage and I don't think she deliberately shoved it; I think she was trying to help the lady by giving her more room).

It doesn’t really matter if it was a shove or to give the lady more room, @GiveMeSpanakopita , you don’t move someone in a chair without their permission. As I said previously, they are not a piece of furniture and you wouldn’t do it to someone who was standing on their feet. DH is wheelchair bound so I know how annoying this is (not to mention alarming, if someone suddenly pulls you backwards without warning)

I have never thought this. Never been in that situation but definitely on my radar now.

veraswaistcoat · 13/02/2025 10:27

What were the deleted pics of ?

I think images of people that didn't want to be plastered all over social media including children

She did post several pics/videos on her instagram of her going down that snow slope in a tube. It could be these but I’ve not been on there to check.

Just so. I thought the opening welcome speech , the PDAs and constant getting herself into the photographs by clinging onto Harry were self serving , distracting and risible. Moving the woman in the wheelchair was egregious. Even if she didn't have the common sense or the manners to think , the better thing to have done would have been to speak to the woman , you would have thought that if you are going to be high profile at an event where there are injured veterans , many using wheelchairs , you might have boned up on some basic etiquette .

True. But then we are talking about a woman who didn't Google the British royal family or any of its members, nor any royal etiquette such as curtseying. So I suppose it would be in line with Meghan's MO not to bone up on any etiquette for Invictus.

Some people just feel comfortable winging things, I guess.

Unfortunately it was to be expected since the woman appears incapable of centreing anyone except herself

And even though she's left we've now got Harry carrying on about how wonderful it was to have her by his side
We don't care, you fool ... it's not supposed to be about you Angry

BunnyLake · 13/02/2025 11:45

I assume she won’t be in the UK for the next Invictus games so it’ll be what nearly 2030 or so the one after? She’ll be fifty or almost, the kids will be double figures. Surely things will be different by then, by that I mean more maturely done, won’t they? 🤔 I won’t hold my breath though 🙃

BasiliskStare · 13/02/2025 11:53

@Puzzledandpissedoff . That was a bit shades of Edward the VIII wasn't it

“I have found it impossible to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and to discharge my duties as patron of the Invictus Games as I would wish to do without the help and support of the woman I love.” But yes - fool. He does seem to managing though perfectly well by himself which he could have done from the beginning

You’re so right on this.
Here’s another example: (not nearly as bad as moving the lady in the wheelchair but it perfectly illustrates your point)

I wouldn’t worry Herbologistinwaiting

You and thousands of other posters, on here and across many other forms of social media globally, have taken it upon themselves to do that.

jeffgoldblum · 13/02/2025 13:14

Has it not occurred to posters that criticism of Meghan and Harry is because of the way they behave?
If they stopped behaving in such a bizarre and unthinking fashion over and over again, the criticism would stop .

And yet she takes not one bit of notice. I mean, the entire machine of the Royal Family couldn't persuade her, nor the might of Spotify, nor the social opprobium of being written about negatively in Hollywood bibles like Vanity Fair and the Hollywood Reporter. Not to mention all the books like Courtiers and Revenge. And she's a far more powerful and connected (socially, professionally and politically) and monied person than anyone posting here. So I wouldn't worry about Meghan's feelings being hurt by a few of us on the internet discussing her bizarre and unsavoury behaviour, that she lays before us as someone who courts and needs public adulation. She has the balance of power in her favour, and I think her rhino hide is fully intact.

Have to say, doesn't look like she moved that woman to me. Looks like the woman shifted her weight from one foot to the other and Meghan happened to be holding onto her upper arms in those massive gloves. Far more irritating is the totally insincere look of concern on her face 🙄

GiveMeSpanakopita · 13/02/2025 13:46

Well she's back in CA and has posted on Insta the gifts she's brought back from Canada for the kids: Invictus cookies and some Timbits

Off topic but I love Timbits :-)
