Meghan did the smart thing in going home. The Canadian media's been brutal about her and it's really distracting from the Games.
Whether it was Netflix who insisted on her pulling out, or the rest of the Invictus Board (both are rumoured; I think the Netflix rumour is more credible) she did the right thing so fair play to her.
I'm sure it wasn't easy. You all may recall that one of the key messages put out by the Palace at the time their relationship was confirmed was that Meghan is a very big star and adored in Canada. The Palace put this out to get ahead of the objection that no one had ever heard of her as an actress (the US media was making this point), and the UK media obediently published and amplified the message.
Indeed Meghan and Harry have both spoken a number of times about how much they love and feel at home in Canada. You may recall the 2020 interview in which Harry said Vancouver Island was his 'happy place' because the Canadian media is non-intrusive and non-bullying. So it must be disappointing to them that the Canadian coverage of Invictus has been so scathing of Meghan - even the left leaning press, which surprised me.
My only other thought is Harry doesn't look well, very red in the face. He might have inherited Charles' tendency to high blood pressure. Charles started to get very red in the face from his late 50s on.
