@JoyousGreyOrca you’re being ridiculous. Your point was, the branded clothing! And the fact that the other Royal ladies didn’t wear it.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 12/02/2025 22:32

Even Camilla wore Wimbledon colours here 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Invictus 2025
MummyJ12 · 12/02/2025 22:33

I can pretty much guarantee that if Catherine went to an Invictus game/event, she would not be averse to wearing branded clothing.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/02/2025 22:33

KingTutting · 12/02/2025 21:59

I thought Prince Charles gave them a spending budget for clothes yearly. Which is why Catherine rewears things and mixes in high street stuff. Royal Tours are work so there’s a separate budget for that.
i think most people think it’s Invictus paying for her clothes and they haven’t said it’s not true despite it being reported widely and Harry being very litigious.

Not any more, KingTutting; now William's Prince of Wales the Duchy of Cornwall has passed to him and he'll get his income from that

The kind you all criticise Harry and Meghan for

How on earth you can compare this low key affection with the constant hand grabbing, claw like grasp on the arm and public kissing whilst holding H’s face in her hands is just laughable.

I do not give a shit if they wear branded clothing or not. My point is that Royals appear at sporting events and do not wear branded clothing and none of you criticise that. But when Meghan does it, you all criticise her. Its sheer hypocrisy

But they tend to wear clothes that are a nod to the event they are attending, such as Catherine’s purple dress at Wimbledon, and other tennis style attire she has worn to the championship. Given her involvement in the All England Club, this seems appropriate. And when at Invictus as seen above, she William and Harry all wore branded clothing and alone GB clothing at the 2012 Olympics. Given that Harry is patron of Invictus, and that there are appropriate branded items of clothing available, it would seem appropriate for Meghan to show her support by wearing them, as William and Catherine would probably do if they were still involved in Invictus 🤷‍♀️

Serenster · 12/02/2025 22:37

The funny thing is that Meghan has previously worn Invictus branded clothing. Here she is in Sydney. But now she is earning a private commercial income, she has switched to multiple wardrobe changes daily with the details briefed to friendly media. And clearly, people cannot see why that causes her to be regarded with scepticism.

It's not just a sporting event, It's a charity event. Buying the merchandise supports the charity and acts as an advertisement to encourage others to donate.

The Invictus merch looks pretty good. The logo is really effective and black and gold are great colours. The volunteers fade into the background which help to highlight the participants.

Absolutely and particularly as we know via the announcement from KP that they won’t be announcing details about her clothes as she wants the focus to be on her causes and not what she is wearing.

She looks good in the branded clothing. It would be much more appropriate if she was wearing this 75% of the time.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 12/02/2025 22:42

William is the president of the FA, I’ve seen him wear an England top for a photoshoot with some England team, but never in the stands at an actual game. He has put a coat over a suit when he’s been at a cold game but never an England branded one.

And that’s fine. He could go in England stuff, it would be appropriate given his role. I’m sure they’d give him merch if he asked, he just chooses to wear his own coat. Fine.

I bet Catherine could wear full Wimbledon merch in the stands, but chooses to wear neat dresses (sometimes in the Wimbledon colours, sometimes not) and that’s also fine. (Always looks good.)

pretty sure 2012 is the only time I’ve seen them in merch in the stands/crowds of an event they are just spectating at, rather than separate photo shoots with the sports teams or organisers away from actual events. Also fine, they’ve always looked appropriate.

it does seem less that Meghan is usual to not be fully in the merch to visit Invictus and more that harry is a man who clearly loves a bit of merch.

Apart from dealing with the after effects of cancer and anxiety about it returning I have a lovely life thank you . Wonderful family and friends etc etc .
I don’t hate Meghan . Her behaviour can be shocking and inappropriate BUT the entertainment value is great !

OP posts:
BigWillyLittleTodger · 12/02/2025 22:45

The thing is Meghan actually looks better in in Invictus clothes than her designer gear.

I’m pretty sure the royal boxes at Wembley and Wimbledon have dress codes.

He’s the head of the FA, he has to be seen as impartial. But even then he wears Villa colours and George has been seen wearing a Villa scarf

Wonder if M will stop story posting on IG now she's left 🤔

BasiliskStare · 12/02/2025 23:06

@CornishTeaTime Apparently she has taken them down , but I can't check.

Here - Article about Harry having a day to unwind after she's gone home - there is a picture of a post she has put up cheering Harry on from home

Lemons must be so last season. It’s all about the oranges now by the looks of things. (The champagne bucket full of them in the photo).
They’re going to have to reshoot the whole of the Netflix series! 😂

Also, why does she need to cheer Harry on? He’s not competing?!

CornishTeaTime · 12/02/2025 23:33

Is that Archie and Lilibet way back in the background 🧐😵 it's blurey mind you.

veraswaistcoat · 13/02/2025 00:27

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 12/02/2025 21:51

For those who think H&M should have worn the merch, for which country? Or should they dress in the volunteers uniforms?

would you not then be complaining they earn enough and could buy their own coats rather than take freebies?!

Have you not looked at the website for the clothing ? It's standard 🙄
