Kensington Palace have released a photo of the Princess of Wales photographed by her youngest son, Prince Louis. It is to mark World Cancer Day, which is tomorrow.

How cute!

Good God, it’s a photo taken by a 6 yr old, released on social media to mark World Cancer Day. Why are people in such a fury about it?

Mightymoog · 03/02/2025 18:20

WattleTyler · 03/02/2025 17:54

It’s nauseating. Why do some people lap it up?

beacuse they don't realise they are having the piss taken out of them.
God knows why they don't see it.

GrouchyKiwi · 03/02/2025 18:20

If nothing else this proves that they were absolutely right to do things their own way when they got her diagnosis.

She should say more. She's saying too much. Speak about your cancer. Shut up, you're making it all about you.

It's a bit of a twee photo, but personally I don't read any more in it beyond "woman who has completed her treatment marks World Cancer Day".

Enough to hang around a thread devoted to discussing them, good and bad, with dozens of photos floating about? You actively seek out things to annoy you rather than fulfil you or make you happy? You seek out and enjoy seeing others ‘embarrassed’ (not that I am embarrassed by the way, unfortunately for you)’.

Hmm, I think I do judge you for that. It’s actually quite sad. I believe they call it Schadenfreude. Believe me, we pity you as much as you pity us.

I’n just going to leave this here…
”Psychologically, there are three primary theories regarding schadenfreude: concerns of self-evaluation and self-esteem (feeling better about oneself by lowering another), social identity (identifying with a group with exclusion of others), and justice (feeling that somebody ‘got what was coming to them’ due to their own behaviors).”

Happy time wasting to you I guess 🤷‍♀️

yes, I'm happy to waste my time observing sycophants and musing on whether they are gullible in every aspect of their life or just this one

It's the anti-monarchists/republicans. Kate is the most popular member of the royal family so putting her down 'helps' the cause.

Also, it's a bit like with Meghan haters, it reminds me of when someone is done with their spouse and they are at the point where EVERYTHING annoys them (breathing, eating, existing)

So, even when it's something innocuous like this simple IG post it annoys them out of all proportion!

How does having a photo of you looking like Jesus equate to talking about her cancer?

JoyousGreyOrca · 03/02/2025 18:24

@wordler it is a totally tone deaf photo that deserves to have the piss taken of it

GrouchyKiwi · 03/02/2025 18:24

The photo doesn't. The message she put with it does. HTH.

Montuewed · 03/02/2025 18:24

I like it. I like that a kid of 6 is being encouraged in a hobby. After mothersdaygate they were never going to doctor it to make it better. I'm pleased Catherine wants to give publicity to World Cancer Day. I feel sorry for people who feel the need to be sneary.

vandel · 03/02/2025 18:26

No photo by her child necessary. Just a heartfelt message of solidarity.

I'm a Christian and my immediate impression was Mum balancing on a log. I walk with my arms stretched if I'm walking on icy pavements. It's a balance mechanism Nothing religious to see there.

So you can issue any photo as long as you claim it is to mark World Cancer Day?

Seriously Kate whoever's idea it was for you to pose like Jesus, stop listening to them. If it was your idea, listen to your advisers.

Not to me - as I said it the post taken as a whole immediately said to me Mum having fun with her kids in nature.

That's Kate's go to happy place as she has said multiple times. She's marking world cancer day with a message of positivity. It's not groundbreaking, pretty standard social media fare.

murasaki · 03/02/2025 18:28

Well it's better than Brooklyn Beckham. Just. And he is 6.

This & the whole "preventative chemo" before she was officially diagnosed while others were on waiting lists shows how out of touch they are

Were they supposed to ignore what they found? The operation was not initially for cancer they FOUND it they didn't go looking and yes it happens it happened with my nan thought it was gallbladder pain told her to diet eventually operated on her to remove it found out it wasn't gallbladder pain she was riddled with cancer to the degree the could do nothing but sew her up and manage her pain she died fucking horribly as predicted I'm glad the princess of wales is going to be well anyone who wishes sick people otherwise should really really think hard about what they are wishing for

jeffgoldblum · 03/02/2025 18:34

I was under the impression that this was lifted from her instagram page ?
Not sure it's her fault if others post it !
And I'm not sure why in the last couple of days so many negative and occasionally downright nasty posts about Catherine ( in particular) and William has resurfaced!

And now snearing at a photo taken by a six year old child it's almost like they had positive attention recently

Where has anyone said they want her to be sick?

crumblingschools · 03/02/2025 18:40

@Waterweight what’s your issue with the preventative chemo, it’s what they call it when they have discovered cancer but remove the tumour and no evidence of cancer spread but give this chemo just in case they missed anything.

A friend had breast cancer, they removed the lump (no mastectomy) and said they had removed the cancer but she still had chemo. Why wouldn’t Katherine have the same treatment for her cancer

because we are sick to the back teeth of the bunch of scrounging, self serving hypocrites being help up by the press as if they are some sort of superior beings and that we went to see photos of them where ever we glance.
if you don't like people slagging them off then I'm afraid it's only going to get worse for you as more and more stuff is coming out about their vile practises and more people are coming to their senses and wondering why the fuck we are giving billionaires hundreds of millions of taxpayers' pounds.

guess we'll never know as she's not said what cancer/ treatment she had ( despite being help up as somehow now being the face of cancer and making it all normal and easy to talk about)

You don't talk for all posters here only yourself.

IcedPurple · 03/02/2025 16:57

Sure. For a child his age it's a really well taken photo. But I just don't think it's an interesting or significant enough photograph for a member of the royal family to make public.

It’s not like it does any harm.

Lord, there's some right miserable, moaning sods that somehow seem to find this forum and can't keep away.

I was a lukewarm Republican until I found this site, the constant, unrelenting misery of the "Republicans" on here have done nothing but move me towards being a Constititional Monarchist.
