Kensington Palace have released a photo of the Princess of Wales photographed by her youngest son, Prince Louis. It is to mark World Cancer Day, which is tomorrow. How cute!

@Mightymoog when Kate stepped out of the limelight and didn't post on socila media after having her operation and then then subsequent diagnosis, there was an outcry of 'where is Kate' ,"she must be dead' 'William has left her' etc etc. I'm sure you weren't bothered by her absence but there was more media speculation when she wasn't posting anything than when she does!

So post some pictures of her visit to the Royal Marsden, or some of the cancer survivors she met. What has a picture of her taken by her 6 year old got to do with that? It's all a bit ' Look at Meee!'

Nope - the ones creating that bonkers mess was a combination of the media who want click bait content no matter the cost, and the crazy Sussex Squad loons on Twitter who were driving all the insane rumours.

There were also comments from monarchy critics who were complaining that she wasn't talking about the cancer as part of her job rather than taking time to deal with the illness privately.

She's now starting to include public engagements and messaging doing exactly what people wanted. It's a slow roll out and perhaps in the future she will be more specific.

Her experience is nothing like the norm. Portraying it as if it is doesn't help at all.

It was, but she won't be in the same trouble with this photograph because she issued it herself. The Mother's Day pic was sent out on a newswire and so got checked for authenticity.

I don’t think an adult would admit to taking such an adequate photo. I bet it was William and Catherine was so embarrassed she said “let’s pretend Louis did it” 🤣

I think maybe @IcedPurple meant not a good picture an adult should have chosen to put on the official Instagram page on World Cancer Day. Coming back to it, it's really quite something. I well know the feeling the vanquishing ill health. But this public display of triumph is a bit 😬, especially when many can't and don't. A bit of circumspection wouldn't go amiss.

This & the whole "preventative chemo" before she was officially diagnosed while others were on waiting lists shows how out of touch they are
