Is there another couple in the world like The Sussexes?

I was musing last night about this aspect - they had the world at their feet. Despite what Sussex Supporters like to suggest most people in the UK nodded their heads " yes it was lovely Harry was getting married finally" . I had never heard of the bride myself as I don't watch American tv shows of that ilk. She was black or biracial? It didn't even enter my head what colour she was initially and then as coverage started it didn't make one iota of difference one way or the other. I recall the day of the wedding - it was sunny and the pubs were full of royal cheer broadcasting the wedding.

And then it all started to where we are today.

Are there any other couples in the world who have gone through such a downfall? Is this a feature of the social media arena today?
We see P Diddy and Blake Lively and others exposed now through SM.
You can't count the Duke and Duchess of Windsor in this category as they were always unpopular.

Can you think of any examples of people who have fallen so spectacularly?

I know people say " they live in California, they have money blah blah" but their reputation is one that most people would not want.

Is it purely because of their seeming complaining and sense of entitlement ? I mean you don't see the real philanthropists in this way - in fact you rarely hear about them and what they do.

It's the hyperbole that does Meghan no favours at all. What's wrong with 'she's a great host/baker'? Why does she have to be the most glorious, that just makes her look silly? All her friends do this and I wish they would stop.

It’s another PR job. Pointless. The public aren’t going to be swayed because some actress they’ve never heard of says she’s a wonderful person.

Bloody hell, how contrived and insincere does she sound, no wonder she is a friend of Meghan Markle.

At some point, someone needs to tell Meghan to ask her 'friends' to row it back in, they just emphasise how out of touch and narcissistic MM is, she clearly allows (or lobbies) her enthusiasts to post that kind of verbose faked verbiage, she desperately needs her ego fed and flattered.

I wonder if they are getting paid for promoting her show?

For someone who has, just days ago, been called out yet again on her bullying behaviour, she most definitely isn’t the most glorious human being on the planet.

Her friends don’t do her any favours at all when they do this.

She’s a TV actress - was an occasional Suits character - and was very good in sci-fi series Timeless.

She has a very flowery writing style particularly when defending Meghan. In 2021 post Oprah interview criticism she said this about Meghan -

It's so hyperbolic, it sounds like mockery. Maybe it is mockery.

All these silly flowery gushing statements about Meghan just dig her into an even deeper hole, the Hollywood sychophancy is over, the public isn’t buying it anymore, the elite don’t control the narrative now, no one cares what they say or what the mainstream media pedal at their behest or their paid shills, as they say the truth is out there, and that genie is never going back in the bottle no matter how hard they try.

I know the catchphrase from the X-Files, and you use it in your post, “the truth is out there”. But the pic you posted was cropped so I couldn’t see the top of the letters at the top. I thought it was a meme that said “The Froth is Out There”. Given the quotes from Abigail Spencer, above, it seemed fitting.

I was thinking similar, if a friend of one of my teens wrote wrote something like that about them, I would be saying to them, " slowly back off. don't do anything to piss them off . don't do anything to encourage them, then stay away" 😣

Exactly and if they were saying to the press you'd ring them saying thanks for the support, I really appreciate it but could you dial it back because you're making both of us look ridiculous.

However, if you like easy-watching, fun caper Sci-fi with time travel, I do recommend Timeless. Abigail McFlowery is good in it, her character is the opposite of whatever those Meghan statement are about. And when the series was cancelled after two seasons they did the decent thing and wrapped all the story lines with the final episode which made a nice change from all those series where they just abandon you mid story arc.

Good grief. As others have said, the hyperbole really does Meghan (nor her) any favours.

Even if Meghan wasn't a bully, a proven liar, an attention seeker who's alienated her whole family and that of her husband (etc etc) - she wouldn't be the "most glorious human being on the planet." I mean Jesus Christ, let's save that sort of praise for the people who devote their lives to selflessly caring for others, giving up their own wealth and opportunities to help others, trying to find cures for horrible diseases or putting themselves at great personal risk to speak up in the face of tyrannical regimes.

It's also completely invalidating the experiences of all those staff who Meghan bullied, and indeed the feelings of those in the RF who were accused of racism and other terrible behaviours towards M.

If she said something like 'Meghan may have made some mistakes in the past, but I can only speak from my experience and she's always been a very good friend to me. I know she's trying to turn over a new leaf with this show, and I really hope it's a success for her' - then it would be halfway credible and would do far more good for Meghan's reputation (amongst those who are on the fence about her at least)
