It was nice to see what I presume is her own kitchen in the dog RIP video.

It doesn't say when he crossed the rainbow bridge though. I would have expected that to be included, and also that it would be at least a couple of weeks ago - poor things if it was around Christmas

It is, btw, pretty likely that he was put to sleep at the vets because very few dogs pass in their own baskets

Though it is utterly heartbreaking, a painless death is the last kindness that we can do for our beloved dogs.

The problem with insta and other SM sites, is to keep people interested….you end up revealing more and more about yourself.

Eventually there won’t be millions of views for the back of a child’s head or an announcement about a dog. So to get those millions of views, she’ll end up revealing more and more about their lives. It’s inevitable. She’s only 3 posts in and we hear the kids voices.

I’ve just read this article, which if true, the timing doesn’t make sense. Why would Netflix release the show before the products are ready and when the trademark issues are ongoing? I think it was the original plan but it alludes more to me that this deal is done and Netflix are wanting to get the show out there and cut their losses rather than wait for the product lines to launch alongside.

The comments are interesting too.

I lost my beloved dog- a beagle as well - a couple of months ago and the bereavement counsellor also said putting a poorly animal to sleep was an act of kindness. I am still struggling with that. I wonder if they lost the dog a while back and she has only now felt able to talk about it. I really struggled to tell people. Some people post things on social media right away. I just couldn't.

Not quite true. Vets will come out to your house to put a dog to sleep. We had to have our beloved dog PTS on New Year’s Eve few years ago and the vet came out to us. A close relative in the US also had the vet come to their house to put their dog to sleep.

Also, if the aim is a tie in with a product launch, January would be a strange time to drop the series.

Not only does the show seem to have a very summery vibe, but nobody has much spare cash in January. And all the episodes are dropping at once. I also think it's likely that NF are looking to cut their losses before the contract ends.

Well it is filmed in the sunshine state so not surprising it has that summer vibes I've been to LA in late November and it's been tshirt weather during the day and lots of sunshine and cloudless skies.

The show is dropping on a streaming site that people around the world subscribe to and whilst content can be tailored to countries most things thay appear in the US also appear in the UK. So why would it be odd timing? Selling the City..a show that is about estate agents in New York was just released? So do you also have a problem with that? After all that is filmed during summer so has a summery vibe and who has money in January to splash out on multi million pound properties...gosh how insensitive of Netflix not to realise people don't have spare cash in Jan and are rubbing in our faces....yeah right you wouldn't think that at all.

It's just because it's Meghan you need to have a dig about the summery vibe etc.

The post:

“Audiences are smart. When a celebrity or brand is inauthentic, audiences and consumers can tell right away. I think that’s what is missing. The choices they have made don’t feel authentic,” Cassie Zebisch-Schienle, founder of Hollywood-based PR firm CMZPR, who works with talent such as HGTV queen Christina Haack, told The Post. “There have been so many pivots [from Harry and Markle] and what feels like throwing things out there to see what sticks. And nothing is, because it isn’t authentic.”

Again the comments are scathing but not as much as Kevin O’Sullivan’s comment included in the article itself!

Brutal.

So sorry @JSMill . Years now and still miss our daft old boy every day. He was taken ill very suddenly and within hours was PTS. It is an act of kindness I believe, because the pain suffered is by us, not them. Incredibly hard though.

ETA RIP Guy the beagle. He certainly had an interesting and eventful life and seemed much loved.

MummyJ12 · 08/01/2025 15:17

@JSMill 💐
I’m sorry for your loss also.

JSMill · 08/01/2025 15:21

Yes he certainly led a full and interesting life. I believe he was a rescue dog so good on M for taking him on.

JSMill · 08/01/2025 15:22

@MummyJ12 @Uricon2 @Samcro thank you xx

I don't know how posters on X know this, (could also be made up) but word is her dog passed away more than 2 months ago.

Why didn't she just say, our beloved doggie passed away x months/ weeks / days ago, she would still have received the same sympathy, Its rinse and repeat on trying to manipulate situations,

It's performative pr like this that make her so dislikable and her motives questionable.

Xag · 08/01/2025 16:07

I don't know how posters on X know this,

They won’t know. They’re just repeating rumour that confirms their bias.

It’s quite possible that Guy died a few weeks ago. Any time after filming finished is possible.

Well people can decide when they want to tell people someone or their pet has died. Who is anyone to tell anyone else when the right time is to announce this type of news whilst your grieving.

yes of course, or you could also choose not to make a deal of it to your 2million followers, if it actually was several months ago.

Again ypu can post what you like when you like. There are no rules on how quickly you need to post news. Your social media account is for you to share what you like when you like not what other people think you should do and when. Bizarre thay you even think to criticise that.

Mylazycatspyjamas · 08/01/2025 16:54

If it did happen some time ago the post is obviously designed to maximise exposure and garner sympathy. It’s a calculated move at odds with the sentiments she is expressing. It’s more manipulative fakery.

Thedom · 08/01/2025 16:55

Of course you can.

I am not the only one commenting on the timing of her post about the dogs death, its all over X and plenty of public comments on media reports about it and plenty of conjecture about the timing of it.

Not2identifying · 08/01/2025 17:02

It's clear the Instagram account was launched for the new year with the TV programme coming out shortly afterwards. She didn't have a direct way of easily announcing Guy's death before the account went live and I can see why she wanted to announce the good news about her TV show in her 'season of joy' before the sad news. If I were her, if it wasn't that recent, I would have left it a bit longer so it wasn't so close to Catherine's birthday.

This is how it is going to be now. Literally anything she does will be suspected of having ulterior motives.
