Her friend who appears on the show, Mindy Kaling, was at the golden globes and was asked on the red carpet about her appearance on the show. She seemed quite dismissive, she was probably really annoyed about her red carpet moment being highjacked by a question about MM. It was a silly question anyway, in the same vein as Tyler Perry was also annoyed about being asked about MM.

TheSecondMrsCampbellBlack · 06/01/2025 10:08

Can anyone copy and paste the Telegraph article please? It's the only one I can't read because of a paywall

Seen that….she gets the excuses in early…….I just had a baby etc……. which means I was delirious with no sleep and just wanted out the house 😂

I wonder if Meghan will tell Mindy on the show that she has baby brain, you know like she did with Kate, when she said Kate misremembered a date. But her excuse was, that’s how she speaks to her friends.

In OK ,
Highlighting and underlining not mine .

This highlights everything that is a problem for Meghan.

Firstly, she still angry. The way this is phrased is telling that she hasn't really let it go. Given they left the RF in 2020, that is a long time to be angry. Is she angry about her reception since? Because if she is that's on her.

Secondly, she's spent a year building her brand. Yet her brand seems indistinct. I do think her red carpet appearances in the last few months have been far more honest about what she wants to be which is a star. Even a reality star needs something about them to shine though and there is no USP beyond married a Prince.

Lastly, if she really wanted to be just Meghan, why does she need DoS in her Insta biography?

I agree with those who say she and Harry could have been amazing support stars. She was good in Suits, but not a main character. There's nothing wrong with that. But that isn't what she wants (or Harry - who did also a pretty good job alongside William).

😵she has to be one of the most prolific plagiarists of recent times.

Every time, no matter what the occasion is.

Does she think people won't notice?

JADS · 06/01/2025 11:08

Mindy Kaling was a writer on The Office and has had her own shows. Of course, she was pissed off being asked about her bit part in Meghan's show. I wonder if she regrets getting involved? I can't see what is in it for her.

itsstillmehere · 06/01/2025 12:12

Yikes the comments on You tube 😳

WinterCrow · 06/01/2025 12:49

The original 'elevating the ordinary' quote is from a US architect who loved the social value of buildings as much as the aesthetic, Samuel Mockbee. He died in 2001.

'Take something ordinary and elevate it to something extraordinary' - Samuel Mockbee, architect.

My thoughts exactly @JADS the title was added very quickly after her first post, even before the blue tick! In fact, she was in such a rush to put her title on her account, she forgot the very important “The” before it, thus inadvertently giving it a different meaning.
The title is very important to her. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t have been put on the “Happy Holidays” cards, the Dior, the production titles……anyone who has a doormat with a coronet above their initial, (as well as note paper, and clothes covers) is not going to ditch their title.

MissRoseDurward · 06/01/2025 17:14

"...try to move on from the drama surrounding the Royal Family...."

There would be no drama if the two of them weren't continually stirring it up!!

Thedom · 06/01/2025 17:26

The PR push on this is really getting into gear now, it's everywhere. Netflix pushing hard to get it into the top 10 when it debuts.

Do people really hate watch things though? I watched the trailer because it was 2.5 minutes and I quite enjoy an easy watch cooking show. Eight episodes though? Not happening as it just didn't grab me. The only reason I might watch is if Meghan's insta starts pumping out affiliate links for the many products casually displayed.

Also the 'coming soon' bit of NF has it buried half way down under a load of wrestling programs. NF have done a bit of trolling here, I think. Depends if you believe that all publicity is good publicity.

Have to say I feel a bit sorry for her having read some of the comments.

Vanity Fair Italia:

All the reviewers criticize Meghan for her series... she gives advice to people who are rich and bored... she offers nothing new, out of style, sticky-sweet almost Disney fake..."

Thats what we’ve all been saying. The look is so dated. Down to the white shaker kitchen. While it’s a style that won’t go out of fashion, the stark with Hamptons look does look dated- especially with pink peonies and blue hydrangeas look.
Not that it doesn’t look good, but it’s over done and very 2010. The look for aspirational kitchens has moved on.
Her look of creams, beige and gold…looks someone from 2011 hit Zara and tried for a rich woman aesthetic.
The concept of a 30 mins tv show offering lifestyle/cooking tips, unless your an established brand (Martha, Ina) its very dated. The world has moved on. Even Food Network got rid of Giada and Valerie last year.

Seriously, has Meghan ever had an original thought ?

I don’t think so.

Well I'm still angry that British tax payers paid £30million for the spectacle of her wedding which she hated so much she claimed she had a better one privately in the garden three days before.
So much ingratitude.

I think I might get a doormat with a coronet above my initial. Just to see who notices 😂

@ShamedBySiri agree

Princessfluffy · 06/01/2025 21:36

I can't even be arsed to watch the first episode of fake Meghan in her fake kitchen in her fake house/fake garden with her fake friends making fake food. I mean WTF.

What of interest is there there for ANYONE?!

TulipTiptoer · 06/01/2025 21:39

Why does anyone watch anything?!

It's not obligatory to watch it!

Just how bad it all is. I won’t be watching it but it’s amusing to hear about .

There are programmes that are entertaining. Some manage to educate/inform as well.

But I think the basic need is to entertain

Well... we won't know until it airs will we?

I might watch, I might like it, I might not, if I don't, I switch off. Easy enough.
