I keep reading that Archie and lilibet are not real.
Photos are of other peoples children.
But surely the press would know the truth.
I'm sure they will have seen them being taken to school/nursery
even if they didn't take pictures or is it just the nanny taking them.
That was one of the arguments of leaving they would never be able to
take them to school yet William and Catherine can do school drop off
with no publicity unless they announce it. (First day of term)

I got pregnant first time of trying at 37.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 22/10/2024 11:01

I am one of those people who listen to/reads everything, even gossip (even though I don’t necessarily believe or agree with what is said) as it gives good insight into social, historical and political context (think of Marie Antoinette’s Let Them Eat Cake for example). I think these conspiracies, whilst completely batshit, are rather similar to James II’s ‘Warming Pan’ scandal. I suspect that this is why the RF have systems in place to help stop such speculation. But as Harry & Meghan were more secretive and private with their births they opened themselves up to that speculation.

BemusedAmerican · 21/10/2024 23:07

The US has privacy laws involving photos of minors.

The average American is more concerned about the 2024 election, Gaza, and the migrants. Titles mean nothing to us. We don't care about the kids.

I think OP meant if they'd stayed in England it would have been a problem, not in the US

Overtheatlantic · 22/10/2024 11:07

Can’t MN organise a breathalyser before OPs post?

purplebeansprouts · 22/10/2024 11:10

Oh come off it

PumpkinPantz · 22/10/2024 11:17

I think there are people who think everything is a conspiracy these days.
I do think she wore some padding at times, I don’t know if it was to mess with the press over due dates. I think that’s given people the basis for the accusations.

Oh dear - this thread has reminded me of the endless bump-cradling and the coat-flicking. Aarrrgghh!

My eyes have rolled right back in my head....I wish I could un-see those videos.

summersolsticeagain · 22/10/2024 11:53

There is talk of a super injunction being In place in the uk, to prevent press speculation.
German press are currently speculating.

VioletCrawleyForever · 22/10/2024 11:56

And the earth is flat and Covid isn't real and vaccines are big pharma control .

People will believe all kinds of garbage.

Especially after they've done their own 'research'.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 22/10/2024 12:01

But how do we know any of us are real?

MaturingCheeseball · 22/10/2024 12:11

I think the initial secrecy was because Meghan had done a deal for first pics of Archie with CNN but the Palace stamped on that one. So no pics at all for anyone.

The “moonbump” was, I suspect, as others have suggested, more of a form bump to give a neat appearance.

I don’t know why Meghan hasn’t merched the kids. “Lilibet’s Closet” was patented, but no clothes range transpired. The ship must have sailed now because I can’t imagine anyone is much interested in the children now, save for conspiracy theorists.

nationalsausagefund · 22/10/2024 12:16

Unfortunately the Queen had the internet scrubbed of the truth about the children after MI5 gave her the dossier about the moonbump being a yacht girl, but if you overlay the text of Spare with Meghan’s ARO logo you will see the facts. In this essay, I will—

Sometimes I lose faith in the human race, if subjects like this can occupy people's minds.

In the OW interview , Meghan said that Archie wouldn’t be able to go to school in the U.K. as there would be around 50 photographers there every day . Harry really should have corrected her . As others have said , the Wales children manage to go to and from school just fine .

I think @BemusedAmerican mentioned there are privacy laws in California which don't allow children to be photographed.

It's the same in the UK, especially for Royal children.

FanofLeaves · 22/10/2024 12:46

I think they don’t leave the mansion very often. Probably looked after by a team of staff and nannies, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept them out of the school system all together until they’re older. I suspect they’re quite isolated and don’t go very far.

Such injunctions don't apply in Scotland, so if such a news existed (it doesn't, it's total bullshit) some Scottish publication would have released it.

It was very obvious from Meghan's face and body shape that she was pregnant. Anyone who gives any credence to these ridiculous rumours really needs to go and do a course on critical thinking.

Samcro · 22/10/2024 12:56

i would have hope after Kategate people would stop with this stuff.

MrsLeonFarrell · 22/10/2024 13:01

Serenster · 22/10/2024 08:52

People are utterly batshit though. This conspiracy theory is a long, long way down the road to compete tinfoil hatting.

I mean, how do they think it would eventually play out? People would notice the lack of children at some stage, I promise you….

What's even more disturbing is that Meghan isn't the only famous person accused of faking a pregnancy. How people can believe that anyone would pretend to be pregnant baffles me.

MaturingCheeseball · 22/10/2024 13:07

@MrsLeonFarrell - those moonbump things are for sale, though.

obviously it’s all nonsense about Meghan, but I think some celebrities have been a bit economical with the truth about their babies.

Samcro · 22/10/2024 12:56

Unfortunately some people seem hardwired to believe rubbish rather than facts. Twitter and social media in central has just made everything worse because anyone can write anything online and some people seem to forget that critical thinking skills are important.

Kategate, whilst awful, isn't the worst conspiracy I've read about, by far. ( I used to know people who were keen conspiracy theorists and I used to try to argue sense into them.)
