@Twistybranch

"Also this Hansen woman ain’t getting no clients with the disaster that is Meghan n Harry’s PR."

This was exactly my thought as I was reading that article. The last person I would want doing my PR is anyone who has worked with Harry and Meghan.

Which might actually be unfair because she may not have been listened to and her advice followed. However people look at results in that field. Time will tell I suppose.

Yeah I’m not sure I’d blame her.multiple people have said Harry and Megan don’t listen and think they know best. Agency staff quoted as saying they only listen to each other. I would hazard a guess working for them was one of the toughest pr jobs in existence.

although obviously it’s been said why she’s leaving to stop speculation thay it’s because Megan is a bully.

So…..they can’t afford to keep a full time salaried member of staff is what they’re actually saying?

Thats another member of staff gone! This is embarassing. Really embarrassing.

Keeping in mind this woman’s business is PR and this is the best that they can come up with! 😂

I wonder how many billable hours M&H will rack up…not a lot I guess!

Also she head of communications at Archewell and they are trying to pass her off as just a friend!!! Cos Megs is such a good friend!

As the industry truism goes, when the PR itself becomes the story, something is not going well

Turns out Hansen has been in the on out for a while….This was in the Times in December 2023 before it was taken down. But someone archived it

https://archive.is/lqdH9

interesting that it says that she was the one putting feelers out….but she said in VF that people were approaching her for work!

If she was reaching out in Dec 2023, when she joined in May 2022- then it must have been bad from the get go

The list of staff changeovers is dizzying. Admittedly I'm a lazy person who likes an easy life but surely even someone who thrives on drama like Meghan appears to do must appreciate a long term reliable member of staff, a safe pair of hands you can offload everything onto. They don't seem capable of acquiring such a person - or if they do the person decides it's too much and jumps ship.

I noticed this little detail too:

AH "accompanied and advised the couple in the UK last September during the funeral of Harry's Grandmother".

Aside of referring to The Queen as "Harry's Grandmother" I'm agog that they had their PR person in toe.

I can't imagine that smoothed their way with the Royals at the time (or since).

It could be that Meghan is offering this lady "half in, half out" which is something Meghan thinks works out fine.

It might be the same situation, the PR lady is getting loads of high offers from elsewhere but doesn't really want to leave H&M (who probably can't give her a payrise just now).

ShamedBySiri · 04/10/2024 08:32

"Hansen said that Meghan helped her brainstorm a name for the company,"

All these people so grateful for the help in naming their companies!

Meghan - Three Gayes

Harry - The Godmothers

They should just stop the faux Royal stuff and set up their own PR company. Grin

ShamedBySiri · 04/10/2024 08:32

Whoops. Three Gates. Not Three Gayes

Uricon2 · 04/10/2024 08:41

I entirely agree with those saying that at the centre of their travails is their belief that they know best, about everything, at all times, with consequent refusal to listen to advice. How can anyone operate as a PR head/chief of staff/whatever if your experience and counsel is constantly ignored?

I very much doubt that they'd have made such a dogs breakfast of things if they'd listened to a their many highly paid advisers. They can't all be useless (and the turnover indicates that to me)

Aposterhasnoname · 04/10/2024 08:44

Autumnalfun · 03/10/2024 12:45

They are never moving to Africa. 😂

“They” won’t but I bet Harry would in a flash.

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/10/2024 08:46

Zippedydodah · 04/10/2024 08:12

@MrsLeonFarrell would that be the Royal ‘we’ hitting the targets?

That's the problem though isn't it, we have no idea what he means. If he wants people to listen to him, or those whose voice he is trying to amplify, then he needs to be focused and clear. He is neither at the moment and I find it frustrating because I think he could make a difference if he concentrated on a couple of areas.

Good spot!!

Id love to see H&M brainstorming PR strategies 😂

This is the fundamental problem that I think drives a lot of their decisions. They are trying to live a billionaire lifestyle but they 'only' have millions at their disposal.

Exactly, @MrsLeonFarrell. Most of us could live extremely comfortable and contented lives on their money, but they seem to want the billionaire lifestyle without having a viable way to earn that kind of cash.

Nearly seven decades as PoW means that KC is personally enormously wealthy from Duchy of Cornwall income. If he chose to, in his will he could probably establish PH with something like the Billionaire bank balance to match his expensive lifestyle. I doubt that would happen, but equally doubt M would end the marriage until that windfall opportunity is resolved. Worth a reconciliation?

MrsLeonFarrell · 04/10/2024 08:47

JSMill · 04/10/2024 08:08

@MrsLeonFarrell you missed out the statement about the withdrawal from Afghanistan where they said they were 'speechless' at events.

They did so many, it's hard to remember them all! They really need to learn that less is more.

Mylovelygreendress · 04/10/2024 08:48

Mylovelygreendress · 04/10/2024 08:13

When have they ever been speechless??

Just remembered when they have been speechless- when Catherine was the subject of truly horrible rumours and speculation.

I don't blame her for not being able to get them to listen but I do think the fact they don't listen might be taken as an indication that she isn't good at her job, which is all about people listening to her.

But at this point it may be so well known in the industry that they are difficult clients that she'll be ok.

Mylovelygreendress · 04/10/2024 08:48

Their complete silence on that topic is why I find it hard to take them seriously when they talk about bullying. The fact Meghan was publically talking about bullying at the point it was happening to Catherine and didn't say anything just leaves the impression she only really cares what is said about her.

Citrusandginger · 04/10/2024 09:37

"Current" Head of Communications Grin

SidekickSylvia · 04/10/2024 09:40

I think Christopher Bouzy's input in to all off the awful things said about Catherine and William during C's treatment must surely have made some of their fans realise that H and M aren't misunderstood, but just horrible people. Due to their association they could've made a statement disagreeing with him, but they said nothing. And Bouzy seemed to be at the centre of the worst of the rumours.

What have I missed about the Frogmore repayment deal?! I never for a second thought they’d actually forked out £2m and walked away (not Meghan “never give your milk away for free” Markle, or Harry “I had to shop in TK Maxx, ya know” Windsor). Always assumed it was a sleight of Palace accounting, like all their affairs. Was it more than that?

They or someone they know repaid the £2.4m refurb cost to a lot of press trumpeting. It was later quietly let slip that the repayment had magically come to include eighteen month's rent without actually increasing. Later still it came to light that not only was eighteen month's rent included, it was also deemed to release the Harolds of any further rental obligations saving Henry several hundred thousand in the process.

All fair enough you might think had it been a family property but Frog is owned by the Crown Estate, profits (including rental profits) from which boost the public coffers. Padding Harold's trousers has therefore cost us yet again 😡

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2024 10:45

"the biggest difference of which needs more work, is when people from the top start listening"**
I wish people could actually hear what they’re saying

So do I, @Mummyoflittledragon, not least because that sentence makes no sense at all Hmm

As for the PR woman's departure, @Twistybranch, the confused messaging about clients sounds straight out of H&M's own playbook, so maybe working with liars becomes infectious for some?

Glooop · 04/10/2024 11:02

That archived Times report from last Dec is truely damning - wonder which part was so contentious that it was pulled - was it just the AH resignation piece? Was this communicated anywhere else at the time?

Mylovelygreendress · 04/10/2024 18:18

Where is Harry now ?

OP posts:
Needanewname42 · 04/10/2024 18:25

I think he's still in Africa.

Wonder when he's due to head home?

Twistybranch · 04/10/2024 18:32

Lord Fancourt:

: 'I have previously indicated to the parties that this individual claim... although it raises important issues, is starting to absorb more than an appropriate share of the court's resources, contrary to the requirement in the overriding objective to deal with cases justly and at proportionate cost.
'It is now doing so.
'The claim at times resembles more an entrenched front in a campaign between two obdurate but well-resourced armies than a claim for misuse of private information.
'It is unsatisfactory to say the least that the court should be faced a second time with having to resolve such a large extent of disputed material on amendments to a statement of case.'

I was wondering if he would stop off in the U.K. to see his father ?
