Just looking at the photos of Harry in Lesotho . Don’t know when I last saw him looking so relaxed and happy .
Nice to see.

Oh no I agree. I hope they stay together as a family too. I just don’t buy them rushing back to be with the children. They have a nanny 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully they will. I’m guessing having a nanny doesn’t mean you don’t feel guilt about being away from your children or try to minimise that time.

AskingQuestions45 · 07/10/2024 20:37

We really don’t know if they have a nanny.

They must have, come on, Harry probably can't imagine life without a Nanny or two. And they'll be a 'keeping up with the Jones's' element where everyone in their circles has a nanny.

I don't think for a second Doria is left babysitting whenever they go off globe trotting together.

I'm now giggling at the idea of Charles and Camilla having the grandkids for a sleepover, so their kids can get a night out.
I'm sure they have lots of time for the DGC but probably not sleepovers!

Well they’ve talked about being dissatisfied with a nanny in the middle of the night before 🤷‍♀️

BigWillyLittleTodger · 07/10/2024 21:34

Didn’t one of their nannies get sacked?

I think she was a maternity nanny.

I’m not here to shame someone with more money than me from having the chance to get more sleep than the average new parent. I don’t see that as irrefutable proof that they want to get away from their children at any possible time they can.

MissRoseDurward · 07/10/2024 21:56

Well, I hope they have a nanny or nannies.
'Mom, I'm off out this evening for that hospital thing. You'll have to do bedtime.'
'But it's my book club evening....'

No me neither. I was replying to the poster who said we don’t know if they have a nanny. Why did you think that was what I meant?

It's just boring vile speculation. They are deeply in love. I don't think I have ever seen such a connecter couple. Plus I think because so much media and others have been vile to them it strengthens their bond. I can never see them splitting.

Have you even met them?!

Have you? Has anyone here met them and spent enough time with them to justify all that is said about them?

No I haven't (well I have met Harry actually) but I'm not gushing sycophantic shite online about how "deeply in love" they are or "their bond" or you "can never see them splitting", am I??!

CesarSoubreyon · 07/10/2024 23:26

The odds aren't in their favour for staying together. Both have divorced parents which has shown to vastly increase the likelihood of divorce. And if you factor in the rushed marriage and completely different backgrounds and interests, it doesn't seem to be a recipe for a long and happy marriage, unfortunately.

theemptinessmachine · 08/10/2024 00:34

Where is he now? Still in Africa?

elessar · 08/10/2024 00:36

Needanewname42 · 07/10/2024 18:51

Who knows but he must have given his schedule to the press, inc the secret / private meeting.

But yes why actually include it in the diary.

That's the thing that's really odd. Nobody knows what he's doing day to day so there's absolutely no need to make a fuss about a secret meeting that's 'hidden' from his diary. Not unless you wanted to create speculation 🤷‍♀️

In the same thread you had said Oh no I agree. I hope they stay together as a family too. I just don’t buy them rushing back to be with the children. They have a nanny 🤷‍♀️ so I assumed your answer about a nanny in the night was a continuation of that vein. I see that you were actually using it to refer to the fact they had a nanny, so apologies for that.

I think personally it’s all about taking a swipe at his father and brother. ‘Look, I’m so close to the Spencer’s, Look how they love and welcome me and want me to come for Xmas…’.

Quite apart from the fact that both of them are almost completely alienated from their families.

JADS · 08/10/2024 07:59

I have a nanny. It's not that big a flex. I'm pretty sure two multimillionaires have as many nannies as they need.

elessar · 08/10/2024 08:09

@AskingQuestions45 indeed. I wonder if there's any truth in the story that Harry wants to spend Christmas here as a family and Meghan is barring it for "security reasons."

If so, I wonder whether Harry may be slightly regretting being so bullish about stating that the U.K. is unsafe for his family because of their 'lack of' security. If he's now realising he's onto a bit of a hiding to nothing, but now wants to spend more time here anyway and have his kids in the country, he's given Meghan the perfect excuse to dig her heels in. Though I'm not sure he's got enough self awareness for any reflection - I'm sure he's still blaming the government, the media and everyone else.

But they did take their children here for the jubilee in summer 2022.

So not sure if 'risk' has increased since then - or if its increased only for DCs or MM as PH has been flying in and out regularly.

ThePoshUns · 08/10/2024 09:15

Sadly for Harry he has made his bed, he has to lie in it.

AskingQuestions45 · 08/10/2024 09:16

I just can't see Meghan at Althorp as a guest of Charles Spencer. She would be completely out of her element. If the Aunts and cousins are invited, even less so. She just doesn't fit in in that environment and she wouldn't have any control. They aren't going to put up with her throwing her weight about.

Needanewname42 · 08/10/2024 09:21

Harry obviously doesn't see the UK as being a risk.

But could the 'risk' be under UK law the King has legal rights of custody for his Grandchildren?
Which could prevent Meghan taking them back to the US?

Can you imagine it? She would be bored to tears.

Oh I think it’s definitely the security that he wants but only for all the bells and whistles of a special protection escort. Of course Harry knows it’s safe enough here for him and his family. RAVEC have never said he wouldn’t get any security, just that they want notice of his arrival so that they can carry out a risk assessment and make arrangements. But that isn’t enough for them. They want to be able to rock up unannounced and have the full shebang. Also, being strapped for cash, he still wants to see if he can have IPP status so he doesn’t have to pay for security anywhere. That won’t happen however

eta as for the children, Charles might in theory be able to keep them here, but he would never do that. Imagine the furore. And what would be gained?
