What to make of the fact that he appeared without Meghan and looked quite anxious and stressed?

This is getting desperate - and barely relevant now.

And barely coherent earlier.

Spectre8 · 24/09/2024 21:59

Serenster · 24/09/2024 20:46

I’m glad you mentioned that Spectre8 as I’m rather confused that you reacted as dramatically as you did when you mistakenly believed I had lied about you. If you now admit that you have told lies yourself, and therefore it’s not a big deal, what was with the drama?

(That’s rhetorical by the way, I have no interest whatsoever in rehashing this).

Well we have all lied even white lies, even yourself. I won't shy away from admitting it, I won't pretend I never have to look like I'm better than anyone else.

So why don't you prove what I said then? Find me my post where I said what you quoted me as saying...until then it's a lie. I didn't make any mistake in calling you out. You go on here about how you are all about presenting facts and truth and then quote me saying something, I ask you to prove where I said it and you cannot cos I never did. So no its not me who made a mistake.

Spectre8 · 24/09/2024 22:00

So let's ask then who here has never ever lied? Not even a white lie? Hand on heart swear on your kids life have never ever said a lie?

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/09/2024 22:06

I really don’t understand what you’re trying to get at with proving that every human has told an untruth at some stage. Getting everyone to state they have at times told untruths doesn’t make them into serious and / or serial liars.

Well i was responding to a person who commented on here saying once a liar always a liar so I thought well that's interesting because we have all lied thatvsoesnt make us someone who is always a liar. That's what I was asking the person who wrote that comment..and well everyone else chiming in and taking the conversation elsewhere.

I only wanted to hear from the person who wrote that whether they had lied and there means they are now always a liar 💁‍♀️ because then why call Meghan someone who always lie? As you say yourself telling some u truths aka a lie doesn't make a person and serial liar.

Let's see now how many have the gumption to say they lie.

Oh my. Wittgenstein moves among us.

Mylovelygreendress · 24/09/2024 22:11

I have never lied on oath .

ThePoshUns · 24/09/2024 22:21

Well quite. There is a marked difference between lying on oath i.e perjury and a white lie for example about Father Christmas. How anyone can say otherwise is quite perplexing.

MummyJ12 · 24/09/2024 22:24

Never lied on oath,
Never lied about when I got married,
Never lied about how I met my husband and how much I knew about him. (It wasn’t a blind date and yes, she had googled him).

I did lie to my friend about how late I was going to be the other day. I knew it was going to be more than 5 minutes…..!

Norahh · 24/09/2024 22:26

Looks like the chess-playing pigeons are back - dont engage in the deliberate derail IMHO....

Fair play, so if someone said well you lied so now your always a liar would you agree? Or say well we all lied at some.point that doesn't mean you get to lable me as someone who always lies?

MummyJ12 · 24/09/2024 22:44

Of course we all lie.
Most of us it’s harmless and doesn’t necessarily warrant labelling a person as “a liar”. Although my friend won’t believe me next time I say that I’m only going to be 5 minutes late.
Sometimes however, it’s not harmless. It’s prolific, compulsive and damaging. It therefore erodes trust and reputation and that is the territory where we find Meghan unfortunately.

FFS @Spectre8 to quote that annoying song from Frozen - Let it go !

AutumnCrow · 24/09/2024 22:52

FloofPaws · 24/09/2024 17:02

@Inliverpoollater23 - she's a bully, it's come from both sides of the pond - she's also a proven liar- in the courts no less ... proven liar, bully ... you literally can't take anything she says seriously, once a liar and bully, always a liar and bully I'm afraid
And that garbage about Harry 'finding her sobbing on the floor' ... ffs ... sounds like dreadful acting - who lays on the floor sobbing after cross words ... who ever started/ended it 😵‍💫

This is the post that Spectre is struggling with. It's really an opinion about the bullying, I'd say, and how it has been alleged both in the UK and the US.

BlushingBrightly · 24/09/2024 23:04

The point about Kate being miffed about Meghan borrowing her lip gloss being the worst story they could come up with is hilarious. Is that all you've got? As the poster said earlier, if they had anything juicier it would have been tearfully revealed on Oprah and recounted in detail in Spare. Almost as if this whole story about Kate being a big meanie has no basis at all.

They've already tried as hard as they could, without quite daring to actually say it outright, to lay the racist remarks about Archie at Kate's door. The 'mistaken' publisher leak seemed too 'oops, how did that happen?' convenient to me. It must have been a bitter pill, after all that effort, that the Hollywood Reporter publish a story based on interviews and verified sources that puts the Sussexes in a difficult spot.

Crabbyappletree · 24/09/2024 23:38

I would agree that once a liar, always a liar. Humans will repeat behaviour they can get away with and that doesn't prick their conscience enough to make them stop.

However, if the "lies" are repeatedly telling your husband that his cooking tastes really nice when it doesn't, that your friend's bum doesn't look big in those leggings, and that the tooth fairy did indeed leave that lovely shiny coin under your pillow, these are not exactly bad lies, are they? They are the sort of social lies that help smooth the way of human interaction, they are kindnesses, they give kids a bit of childhood magic. I think we can all agree that these types of serial liars are just regular, nice, kind people.

If your lying involves the whoppers Meghan Markle has come out with, and include lying under oath (which should have resulted in her facing criminal charges of perjury) - if you have the audacity to do that on an international stage, then there is nothing you wouldn't do, imo. Because that level of bare faced, very public lying makes you something quite frightening.

He didn't have his handler.

She's still sulking after being banned from Kevin Costner's shindig, she'd spent the whole of the last year writing a wordsalad special for the unwashed to listen to her greatness.

She could have just used a script from any of her other speeches as they all sound exactly the same.

Maybe he’s anxious because he’s worried she’ll suddenly make an impromptu appearance (mic in hand).

He said years and years ago that public speaking makes him anxious.

I am a wreck pre public speaking my voice squeaks by the time I'm half way through I'm into it.

I'm the same with department zoom calls especially with head office.

Well Serenster decided to bring it up maybe she should meet it go. So if she brings it up and brings up aoketjinfnthat is notnfsctuslly accurate then I will respond to make sure the facts are right. So dont tell me to let it go as I am not the one who brought it up in the first place.

A friend spends a couple of months most years in Sentebale most years teaching. She said Harry did a lot there, no journalists around just pupils of all ages, children and adults who wanted to learn.

He was hands on, listened to the problems, helping with solutions.

Something has gone very awry if he's not still this person.

Wonder how many mumsnetters have lied in their life...I mean it's pretty hard to find someone who has never lied in their life. So I guess once a liar always a liar holds true for everyone who has ever lied

From a legal perspective, lying is only wrong when it threatens integrity in the judicial system (perjury), causes personal gain from societal misfortune (tax evasion & fraud) and when defamation causes “serious harm to the reputation of the claimant”

^^ a very quick google.
Also, you want to tell Judge Judy... or other judges, that lying about Santa is the same as lying in court, or on television to make money and try to cause reputations damage are the same then I'd love to see how they'd chew you up and spit you out afterwards

That is great to know in a thread of such unremitting negativity.
