What to make of the fact that he appeared without Meghan and looked quite anxious and stressed?

Give it a rest ffs
Some of you really want Harry to be depressed.
You can’t fathom that he might be tired or having a bad day ( like many of us) or that he might actually be happy. Every facial expression is analysed to death. If he smiles you say he is faking it. Absolutely ridiculous and funny at the same time.
Some of you just love to paint Meghan as this kind of manipulative Lady Macbeth figure. You continue to infantilise a forty year old man.

This man and his wife appear Ito be very content in the US. He had made this clear on many occasions but his detractors are trying to prove otherwise
His detractors want him to come back to the royal fold with his tail between his legs. I honestly can’t see that happening any time soon .
The royal family is unravelling and Harry and Meghan would have been one of our biggest assets on the world stage. It really is such a shame that some senior members of the royal family allowed their jealousy of the couple to overwhelm them.

Having a bad day? Harry was invited to the Concordia event to speak to 2 young women, who received the Diana award. He was generally unprepared and rude to them, looking away when they arrived on stage and looked generally awkward / anxious.

Maybe he should have postponed his 40th birthday celebration if he’s not up to it.

Hazeby · 24/09/2024 06:43

He said years and years ago that public speaking makes him anxious.

FloofPaws · 24/09/2024 06:50

I just wonder if it's a drug issue that made him really strange? Maybe it's because MeMeMeaiain wasn't there hoovering up the limelight like a black hole, so there was focus on him, but all seemed weird, rude and literally no regard for his role there

Hazeby · 24/09/2024 06:52

Honestly no one wants him back as a working member of the Royal Family

You blithely make statements like this as though they’re fact. Maybe you and your anti-MM crowd have that opinion but there are also plenty of people who’d like them to come back.

GingerPirate · 24/09/2024 07:13

Possibility to fix stuff with his family without that leach in tow, he probably feels totally out of place without her abuse.
Imagine a woman in his shoes.
Guessing only, though.
😁

Honestly, no one wants him back as a Working Royal.
Both of them were and are completely unfit for the role. Nothing to be jealous of either. I genuinely wish them happiness, it’s just jaw dropping how they seem determined to blow themselves up in pursuit of fame and money. They could easily live quietly under the radar and build a happy family unit. Instead they are both determined to monetise their links to the RF at every opportunity for personal gain. They could both be doing good work for charity without making themselves and their lecturing on subjects they know nothing about the focus.

Lots of people, including me, would like to see him back as a working royal,
so your generalised statements are incorrect.

Frankly I think Harry is one of the Royals who is actually good at the job and therefore eminently fit for the role. He and Meghan were both doing charity work before they married, so I don’t see why they should stop now.

I doubt many of the engagements listed here bring them much money or fame beyond that which they already have, so I am assuming they are carrying them out to raise awareness for the charities concerned which they don’t have to do, so I am glad they are ignoring all the negativity from tabloids and social media and carrying on.

Perhaps the RF, as a unit, is weakened atm due to two cancer diagnoses? Perhaps H&M's behaviour has caused them distress? Oh, and I've forgotten what it is they have to be jealous about....

He and Meghan were both doing charity work before they married
What charity work was Harry doing that involved public speaking on stage? Did he do much else apart from Invictus?

Thedom · 24/09/2024 08:06

Considering how unpopular he is,(and Meghan) the majority do not want him back, not many people have respect nor trust for someone who lies about their family and tries to destroy and humiliate them in such a public way, the result is that it totally backfired on him and his reputation has been destroyed with the majority of the public.

He is totally out of his depth, and looks like he knows it. He has nothing of value to say, but I do think it’s good to finally see him doing something, anything, without Meghan sidelining and poking and prodding him like he is the village idiot, I don’t know if it’s his drug use or what, but he looks like he is totally in the wrong place and would prefer to be anywhere else, his confidence is shot, that’s one sure thing which is evident.

Mylovelygreendress · 24/09/2024 08:21

I can’t see any evidence of the RF “ unraveling “. They have had a difficult few years with the deaths of PP and Queen Elizabeth plus 2 senior members being treated for cancer . Despite that , visits are taking place , speeches made , Sophie is currently in Tanzania (?) and other Royals are out and about doing what the public expects them to do .
Pre Meghan , Harry was good in his role ( although we can now see how much he was supported and shielded ) but Meghan was never going to want to do the nitty gritty of opening leisure centres or touring factories . She never read the memo that the visits she did do were about the people she met and the organisations they represented, she thought SHE was the centre . Her interview with Tom Bradby in Africa is an example.
Too many bridges have been burned for Harry to return and Meghan says she won’t set foot in the U.K. again .

They don't sound good on the world stage though, and people really can see them for their real attitudes and expectations now - honestly I can't see them being accepted back - especially not MM who sees herself better than everyone else

FloofPaws · 24/09/2024 08:24

@Lifestooshort71 ... that wasn't aimed at you by the way, the bold writing from someone else

MrsLeonFarrell · 24/09/2024 08:27

I don't give any credence to Judi James when she pontificates about body language. The whole area is very open to interpretation and context anyway and she always seems to start with her agenda and then interpret body language to match.

I don't think Harry particularly likes this sort of event, he seems much more natural and engaged in less formal settings. At least in speaking about the Halo Trust etc he is bringing attention to worthy causes, it's not his fault that those who actually do the work are ignored by the press and this type of event whilst celebrities are given the public profile.

Lampzade · 24/09/2024 08:39

The RF would have Harry back in a heartbeat if he was willing to ‘toe the line’ and willing to enter into a Faustian Pact with the Murdoch press.
They would welcome him with open arms if he left his mixed race wife and two kids in the US
and returned to pick up the slack.

All would be ‘forgiven’

I haven't watched it all as he goes on a bit but the 'royal rogue' has 'analysed' Harry's appearance.
He does seem lost without Meghan dragging him around.

You watch the royal rogue ??? A horrible misogynistic troll who spreads lies meghan asked her pregnancies.

What charity work was Harry doing that involved public speaking on stage? Did he do much else apart from Invictus?

Halo Trust and Sentebale in Lesotho among others? They are easy to Google.

Here’s the full list of charities Harry has worked for:
Bob Woodruff Foundation
Canine Partnerw
Children in Crisis
Diana Awards
Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund
Dolen Cymru
Free The Children
Global Angels
HALO Trust
Help for Heroes
Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund
Joining Forces
MapAction
National AIDS Trust
PeyBack Foundation
Prince's Rainforests Project
Sentebale
SkillForce
The Countryside Foundation For Education
The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry
The Warrior Programme
Tusk Trust
UNICEF
Volunteers of America
Walking With The Wounded
WellChild

I don’t quite understand your question though? Surely standing on a stage is just one aspect of charity work?

Stop putting vodka on your cornflakes!

FloofPaws · 24/09/2024 08:57

@Inliverpoollater23 ... I'll put money on him not knowing many of those charities let alone doing any significant work for them

Coruscations · 24/09/2024 08:59

Why would anyone want him back? It's just more expense for the public purse, and he's so vacuous he adds nothing to any event he turns up at.

Makingwaves2 · 24/09/2024 09:07

TheActualAudacity · 24/09/2024 05:56

I’d have him back as a working member of the family. No more nutty than the rest of them. I quite like him.

Really? Someone paranoid someone is going to kill his and his family who calls his family The Institution? Someone who can’t show any loyalty or discretion with a history of drug use? Someone who thinks his sister in law and father are racists? Someone who has no interest in history or his own family and ancestors?

What is there to be jealous of exactly?

Always accused of exploiting his ‘royal links’. He can’t undo his royal-ness, he’s a prince and son/brother of a king and that will ever change. His very existence is a ‘royal link’, let alone trying to do any work.
