What to make of the fact that he appeared without Meghan and looked quite anxious and stressed?

This extra segment of the interview they did with Jane Pauley has been released, their body language is unreal, Harry looks uncomfortable or disinterested and Meghan looks like she wants to rip Jane Pauley a new one.

Yes, and also, I thought Meghan looked very different in that interview to previously - and I don't just mean naturally older. She had a really cold, hard look - which wasn't just a facial expression - the whole look was strange.

It was a bizarre interview - and I was very conscious all the time of the bereaved parents sitting to Meghan's left - I don't know why they weren't brought into the interview too. It was all so focused on Meghan - partly because she always makes it about herself, but it wasn't just that - it must have been planned that way. It was very uncomfortable all round.

jeffgoldblum · 29/09/2024 16:10

Neither have the emotional intelligence to feel empathy or see other people's pain or suffering, all they see are supporting characters to their main stars , in the story they are promoting of their lives.

Alectoishome · 29/09/2024 16:17

That clip is horrendous. I feel the interviewer has some contempt in her face which she was working to hide. I don't go in for the 'poor Harry' stuff but it is a reminder that she had him by the balls - threatening to end her life and that of his unborn child.
I was waiting for her claw to grip his knee when he started fidgeting, low and behold - down it came like an iron vice.
Her self-satisfied smiles and self-absorbed dialogue is chilling when juxtaposed with the bereaved parents beside her, whom she is completely indifferent to. Their lives have been destroyed and you can tell there is no compassion there at all.

hepsitemiz · 29/09/2024 16:20

Again, Meghan couldn’t answer the question. And it’s the same with all questions she’s facing, whether sensitive or not. She likes to employ ready-made phrases that she hopes will fit. How did Harry react? “Oh, look, he’s a loving husband… and I’m here.”

hepsitemiz · 29/09/2024 16:24

Agree, Alecto - Jane Pauley looked like she was chewing the inside of her cheeks off. It looked as if she would have loved to give them more of a grilling, and was only just able to restrain herself

She’d have forgotten about them before she even left the building. Too wrapped up in herself to ever genuinely care about anyone else. We’ve seen it time and again, her turning away, or looking bored, when someone is trying to talk to her about their own personal experiences. She’s not interested in anyone else’s story. She can’t even hide it. South Africa, Nigeria, this and others. I can imagine her thinking ‘yes, yes, shut up already and let me talk’. (Imho of course).

Needanewname42 · 29/09/2024 16:29

What a weird interview.

TBH I don't believe she was ever suicidal. I think that's just a made up story like many others.

But it's not something to bring up around bereaved parents. Who wouldn't have had acess to a fraction of the resources she had access to.. Wtf

Yes I once saw a long reel of clips on youtube of many occasions that she'd ignored or turned away from people she was supposed to listening to, not only Harry, the Queen, aides etc but also children, disabled veterns, high ranking military and woman of all kinds who mistakenly thought she was there to hear their story. She always knows where the money shots are though.

There was also that occasion when M and H attended a garden party with Charles and Camilla. They suddenly left because apparently Meghan was just bored and had had enough.

I've never heard another case where someone falls deeply in love (apparently), finally achieves success beyond their wildest dreams after a long, slow slog up the greasy pole in pursuit of status, money and power, to conceive their first child and to only THEN suddenly decide to end theirs and their child's life, becuase of some negative press and family disputes, with no previous history of depression. And then be absolutely fine again shortly after. And during this time they never lost motivation or interest in their own personal/best interests, their personal appearance, clothes, future plans and plots and contracts aplenty. It goes against everything I've ever heard and read and experienced (I had peri-natal depression for 3/6 pregnancies).
If it was made up, and only she can ever know for sure, then she is utterly wicked.

Strangely the person who made me the most suspicious of her claims was Doria. When Doria was being asked on the NF doc about seeing her daughter suffering at that time, something about her response just set my intuition off and I thought 'she knows it's BS.' But being her mother, and having done very nicely out of it herself, I'm sure she's able to justify it. She must be delighted with the life her daughter and grandchildren have and who can blame her for that.

Uricon2 · 29/09/2024 16:46

It's one of the many reasons why the Diana cosplay jars so much. Of all the hundreds of thousands of photos and films there must be of her, sometimes taken by a hostile media, I defy anyone to find an occasion where she comes over as badly as Harry and Meghan do with monotonous regularity. Of course, not being obsessed with the sound of her own voice spreading "wisdom" helped enormously.

I think she pushed it as far as she could. Meghan must've made a big stink about being asked about that particular topic. I thought they only did interviews where all the topics and questions had been pre approved. She probably wanted to see if Meghan would baulk at talking about her apparent experience while sitting right next to people whose lives have genuinely been devastated by suicide. Kind of calling her bluff. Needless to say, Meghan didn't turn a hair.

hepsitemiz · 29/09/2024 16:59

Agree with all pps

To go back to the question Jane Pauley put to Meghan in the clip shared by Thedom, it's clear that M is annoyed because J was putting her on the spot. She may have issued an injunction to J before beginning, not to ask her about things she said in the past in previous interviews - if I had her inability to keep my story straight, I would have!

So J really pushed her buttons there. What was she supposed to say to the question "what did Harry do when you told him you were suicidal?". M will have known that people found it strange that he, Harry, Prince of the realm and self-styled mental health guru, was unable to help his struggling wife, and worse, he forced her to attend a public event. She didn't want to say "oh yeah well Harry had no clue what to do really so he told me to go to human resources and in the meantime to put on my best frock and get in the car". She knows how that went down in the wake of the Oprah interview, surely, because of how closely she monitors SM.

Hence her terribly evasive answer which amounted to no answer at all.

She doesn't even answer the question. Completely moves on to something else. 😳

forevernumb · 29/09/2024 17:07

You do wonder why she didn't speak to Doria and she wasn't on the next plane?

Mylovelygreendress · 29/09/2024 17:12

It was reported that Meghan was furious and had a rant at JP after the interview.

WtF the garden parties 🥳 is part of the Royal job
I can imagine they are probably quite hard work from a Royal POV chat to people you don't know, make them feel special and appear interested in them.

But walking off because your bored really isn't on. I can imagine Charles would have gone through them like a ton of bricks.

hepsitemiz · 29/09/2024 17:23

Not surprised, Dress! She looked livid and basically told J to back off.

Needanewname42 · 29/09/2024 17:43

I just don't believe the suicide incident happened, or if it did it was something she made up.

You know what others have said about copying Diana?
Did Di not try to throw herself down stairs?

I never believed her from the day she came out with this. At the very same time my own son was going through a depression where he had su i cidal ideation and it was terrifying. It bore not one resemblance to how she was presenting this ‘story’. It was a long slog for him to come out of it and I’m not even sure he won’t go back there. Offensive nonsense from her if you ask me.

That claw on his knee was a ‘don’t you dare say a word’, it wasn’t an affectionate pat that’s for sure. Honestly, I feel like people can read her like a book now. She’s a walking bingo card.

Uricon2 · 29/09/2024 18:05

Harry's fidgeting and fumbling and rapid blinking during that clip is fascinating, the discomfort is palable and I really don't think it is because he's remembering a distressing incident.

And YY The Claw! We do need a Meghan Moves bingo card. I haven't got over a royal correspondent saying that she barked "HAND!!" at him on one occasion when he was slow to proffer said body part.

But only now are we allowed to say this. So many of us, it appears, with our own experiences spotted straightaway that this was more like a classic narc "do what I want or I'll kill myself" move. How come we weren't allowed to say what we saw!?
