She has released a video to state that she has completed her cancer treatment.

Very intimate - quite a generous thing to release given the way she has been treated by the general public (and some of the press) this year.

Nice to have some good news anyway.

AnnieMcFanny · 09/09/2024 17:29

A lovely message and a lovely video.

I loved the way William was patting her hand when they sat together on the wee hill.

I’m pleased she’s well but for me it was a cringe fest.

Indeed. My sense of ‘wtf?’ Has rather undermined the nice message.

BottomlessBrunch · 09/09/2024 17:30

Thought it was very moving and lovely. It made me well up.

Hope she's through the worst of it. I like them as a family and agree no matter what she would have done she would have been criticised.

Fetchthevet · 09/09/2024 17:30

Video a bit OTT for me, but I'm so pleased she's finished her chemo. Hope we start seeing more of her.

Yirk · 09/09/2024 17:30

Lovely family video, good to hear her chemo is finished and wish her future good health.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 09/09/2024 17:30

It was lovely to see Michael and Carole in the video too. And see how they interact with the children. You can tell they are a very close family and they’ve been a massive support.

I agree that she has been too generous to the media after all they put her through.

The children look so happy and carefree, as they should.

Greenbanana7 · 09/09/2024 17:36

Broke my heart watching this after having been through this 6 years ago and having tiny children at the time. All I wanted to do was to protect them from the experience above everything else. They had a few issues but came out of it okay. It really does completely change your perspective in life, I really don't give a damn about stupid small things now and make the most of every opportunity.
Ps her hair looks great, I wonder if she cold capped like me. Quite painful but kept (most of) my hair which was really important so my children didn't see me looking a lot different (although appreciate it's not for everyone)

From the bbc article: “Kensington Palace has indicated it is not possible at this stage to say whether she is cancer-free.”

Coupled with the length of her treatment it is obvious that this is a lot more serious than just a few cells or precautionary treatment as some on here were sneering.

I imagine if Meghan had done a similar video she would have been absolutely flamed for being overly sentimental, twee and smaltzy. As it’s Kate, she can do no wrong.

Meghan is not our future queen so there is no need for her to address her nation like that. Meghan also does not have cancer!

I couldn't decide whether it was more like a life insurance advert - the cheesy voice over - or a tampon advert, the white dress running free through the fields 🤔

Maybe just take the message at face value.

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/09/2024 17:38

I think she's extraordinarily brave.

Wasn't it Kate who said it was "preventative chemotherapy" in her statement?

Recently been diagnosed so I've just sobbed through it.
Her words really sounded heartfelt and I'm sure lots of people will take comfort from her words.

She's lucky enough to come out the other side, I hope I'm as fortunate

I hope so,too 🙏 all the best x

Life insurance, but also a bit of Timotei shampoo -- white dress, running in fields. Lacked the horse, though.

I am beyond delighted to see Catherine looking so well and happy. I didn't like the video in fact in made me really sad as i feel it almost has a "memory box" video vibe to it., like it was made for us to remember her by just "incase" i hope i have just got the wrong end of the stick and it is just a lovely family video.

I understand what you’re saying because it crossed my mind that the POW cancer was worse than we’d been initially told. I had a very rare cancer that was caught at stage 1a and a massive surgery was all treatment I’ve need till now and the things she was saying about staying cancer clear etc sounded to me her cancer hadn’t really been found at a very early stage. I can’t explain it though because I’ll put my foot in my mouth and unintentionally say something wrong.

Penguinsa · 09/09/2024 17:41

Thought it was a lovely video and very heartfelt - was good it emphasised end of treatment is not the same as all clear but it is a huge relief. I cried, and could relate to almost all of it, having been through treatment myself. I am glad she and her family have felt kindness. I think she is right to keep diagnosis secret if she prefers that.

AnnieMcFanny · 09/09/2024 17:41

yes. They did. And it’s not really correlating with some of what was said in the video.

But people are saying they think it's a bit OTT - so your comment is redundant.

Although I agree it's schmaltzy, I'm so glad to see them all together being so natural. And how lovely to see the Middleton grandparents! I really hope things will continue to improve for them all.

It struck me that Catherine has an absolutely beautiful voice! A lovely tone, not too whispery, not harsh, not actressy (sorry, couldn't help that dig... no horrible vocal fry, thank God, just very natural and her accent is great - posh enough for a future queen, but not ridiculously, unrelateably so!

(As for what the Sussex Squad will say...well, as someone who peeps at Celebitchy from time to time, I don't think this will stop their horrible determination to be spiteful, to deny Catherine's cancer, to say Williams is ugly and lazy and to claim it's all faked and they are on the verge of divorce. But they are a very stupid, brainwashed lot, and hopefully a very small minority.)

Why are you bringing Meghan into this?
Plus, if you think Kate can do no wrong, you obviously didn't see all the vile threads on here a few months ago.
Nastiness on other sm too.

Sunraysunday · 09/09/2024 17:44

I thought it was lovely. It made me a bit emotional too, such a difficult thing to deal with when you have small children whoever you are. I wish them all the very best

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 09/09/2024 17:44

@drivinmecrazy 💐💐 a very close relative has recently completed treatment as has a friend of my youngest. Sending you love and hugs x

For me also.
But wishing her the speediest of recoveries.
It must have been such a bolt out of the blue and her children so young.

Shakenandstirredup · 09/09/2024 17:45

It was a bit perfume advert but happy she is well.
