I think it's noteworthy that Meghan is getting press for solo, or near-solo events now. These things are how she's building a singular presence, off the back of which she could make a living post-Harry, if there is a post-Harry.
Doing this on the eve of the 2nd anniversary of QE2's passing (not a noteworthy date impo, but if you're married to her self-professed favourite grandson who's probably home deep in reflection, it's certainly making a point) is a demonstration of how little Meghan cares for the RF. She wants nothing further to do with it, unless it's on her terms and to her benefit. Which is fine (wouldn't we all!). The RF can look after themselves, and she's doing the same.
The trouble for her is that the only interest she is of to the public is the royal connection. She will always have that, now that she's secured Prince/Princess monikers (they're not titles in the US, which doesn't have titles) for her children. Even if she wants to she won't ever be able to shake off that connection. That's literally all she's of general interest for: being married to Harry and mother to his children. Awkward when you want to be known in your own right.
Which means her whole future has to be about milking for $$$$ something she openly disdains and wants to leave in her past. She's unable to organise a piss up in a brewery, as evidenced by the ARO fiasco/podcast/fucking grifters/cooking show failure/pointless touring non-successes/etc. She's in the British media because while she's married to Harry it's easy to take a pop at her for all her failings, and she's hardly in the American press. There's really nothing else she can make money from.
She's an oddity. She hasn't been able to make a home for herself anywhere and in her 40s she's still searching. Hence all the oversharing about joy and peace and calm and sitting in her truth etc. She's a woman tied to a past she wants to leave behind, looking for a future she can't make happen.
