Meghans trademark not allowed

The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

Why do you need a microphone to talk to about 6 people in a book shop?

Meghan wasn’t there due to an invite from Oprah, that’s for sure. She was there because WME had sorted it. As per. One of the board members, Jennifer Rudolf Walsh was there with her. She runs the literary, speakers and conferences division. They are working hard for Meghan’s dollar.

As for the Beckhams, there’s no chance of Harry and Meghan getting anywhere near them. They have lived, learned and been burned by the Sussexes already. Including Victoria sending thousands of pounds worth of clothes to Meghan just to be accused of leaking stories to the press. As well as Harry snubbing David when he had made a special journey to support Invictus one time.
David has chosen his team and it’s not the Sussexes. He has his eyes on that knighthood, he wouldn’t risk upsetting the Royal Family.

It appears the bookstore is co-owned by a friend of Meghans' who was on her podcast and a board member of WME.

Actually I think David and Victoria are likely quite decent people. They are clearly very private.i think David would have continued to be friends with Harry and Megan had they behaved decently. Accusing Victoria of leaking is actually mind boggling. It shows you just how important Megan thinks she is. How superior. Even I know there is no way Victoria was sitting phoning the press. She’s prob one of the most discreet people out there.

however Harry and Megan making false accusations of people leaking about them isn’t something new. It’s really the corner stone of spare.

Maybe some of that, but I get the impression Oprah lacks patience and can be quite cutting and judgey. I’d guess she feels nothing but disdain for them. Her face in the interview betrayed some of that. Megan would have fronted up seeing if she could get friendly with Oprah again. Of which there is zero chance.

oprah is 70 now, and she’s used to being in charge, taking no nonsense. She’s also good at reading people, after a lifetime of it. Oprah used Megan and Harry to get the interview, then kicked them to the curb.

I also dislike how this narrative is clearly staged and to gaslight everyone they’ve trodden on in both families. Oh, you’re sad with us? But we are all about joy and gratitude so it must be you that’s the problem you couldn’t possibly feel angry with us, you must be lacking joy and gratitude in your life

A very valid point, @EigerTheTiger, and something we often see from the few remaining fans with "they're living their best life so why should you care", etc.

However as said last night Meghan will doubtless move onto the next "thing" all too soon and this brief foray into lecturing others about joy will be forgotten like all the rest

They also blatantly used Oprah to launch a public attack on the RF, in which much of what they said was shown to be total bs. And Oprah's own production team screwed up in showing headlines from non-UK newsapers to illustrate the 'racist British media' allegations. Whole thing probably screwed any chance Oprah might have had of getting a serious interview with anyone royal-adjacent.

I don't have much sympathy, because a bit of due diligence might have warned her what she was getting into, but I don't blame her for being wary.

Firstly, of course the Beckhams wouldn’t leak. They know firsthand what it’s like living under a microscope. It was a ridiculous accusation.
David hasn’t always been on the right side of public opinion, as a pp has detailed. He is particularly guilty of not always paying his fair share of taxes to the UK in the past, however has never done anything illegal. That being said, he is proud of his heritage and country and respects the institution that is the Royal Family. He queued for 12 hours with the masses to pay his respects to the late QEII. He also offers his time to support the King’s Foundation. As I posted above, he was happy to support Harry with Invictus but Harry snubbed him at the event and that was the end of any relationship they had. People need to have boundaries. David was right to not support Harry further after this.
I don’t agree with you, as I believe that the Beckhams would not have continued to be friends with the Sussexes regardless because they value loyalty and family. They would have distanced themselves anyway, as have many others have, because of how they have and continue to behave. That makes them even more decent IMO. They have values, Harry and Meghan don’t.
I certainly don’t blame the Beckhams for not giving the Sussexes the time of day.

Agree absolutely they did, but I doubt Oprah wanted an interview with anyone else so much she’d jettison Harry and Megan’s interview, they were the scoop of the century, let’s face it Charles or Kate ain’t going in Oprah.

oprah was more than happy for Harry and Megan to mount an attack, cmon she prob encouraged it. That’s what made it global headlines.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York did an interview with Oprah in 1996. Oprah seems to be the go-to for interviews by ex Royal family members.
