Meghans trademark not allowed

The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

Ah did he, I haven't read Spare.

I've nothing against gaming as a hobby, but it doesn't sound like the healthiest use of time for someone without a real sense of purpose in life, a busy job or other outdoor hobbies. Particularly someone who's prone to paranoia and who harbours a deeply held sense of anger and resentment.

It's not like he has a very hectic life and gaming is a way to decompress from it. He's got so little going on.

Didn’t you know Harry gets burn out from all his hard work! He told us on several occasions so it must be true.

Manypaws
Charles hasn't got the same worldwide respect. I think he's a figure of ridicule with his "I wish I was your tampon" history with his side piece.

Hopefully when Will is King we get a monarch worthy of respect.

Shame on you for such a nasty, ignorant post - I assume your 'many paws' are extremely catty ones.

As a pp said, Charles didn't say this.

Do you understand that this was part of a very private, intimate conversation which was bugged/tapped (or whatever you call it) by the press, illegally? Is it OK to expose and humiliate people in this way? Ask yourself that. I feel sympathy for Charles and Camilla on this - and surely any decent person would. Otherwise, you are in the same camp as people who use revenge-porn, aren't you? NIce.

Also, I judge people on other things. Charles has for decades gained my respect through his championing of environmental issues, his work with The Prince's Trust and other projects. He's been mocked by many stupid and thoughtless people, but he's a shy, socially-awkward man in a demanding role, and I take my hat off to him.

He's also suffering from cancer, so well done for your kind remarks.

I think you need to re read my post

Manypaws · 08/09/2024 20:03

CoffeeCantata · 08/09/2024 11:27

And 'side piece'. How misogynistic and judgemental can you get?

Words fail me - you ARE a charmer.

Re read my post

David Beckham has a huge talent that people around the world admire and respect, the looks of a model, the ‘perfect’ family image (despite the ups and downs) and comes across in the main as genuinely nice guy, that’s just to name a few things, Harry has none of the above, he is literally the polar opposite of DB, there is nothing the average person in the street can admire about Harry.

Edited

Let's also not forget that DB suffered a horrible amount of abuse following the red card incident in the World Cup. I don't know how he coped with it yet he has never acted like a victim. H & M claim they aren't safe in the UK due to the hatred against them fuelled by the British media. They haven't a clue.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/09/2024 20:31

Yes I remember the abuse, there were effigies of DB being hung outside a pub iirc. And yes Harry doesn’t have a clue, the worst that has happened to him is a few boos outside St. Paul’s Cathedral which Charles and the rest of them get regularly thanks to Republic.

CathyorClaire · 08/09/2024 20:32

Haven't RTFT but re. David Beckham as a role model for Harold, are we talking about the same David Beckham who took millions from Qatar with its questionable human rights record, demanded a charity pay for his £7K business class flight and called the Honours Committe 'unappreciative cunts' when he was overlooked for the knighthood he's lusted after forever?

If so it strikes me Harold's halfway there already 🙂

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 08/09/2024 20:49

@CathyorClaire I think that's almost the point I was trying to make about what Harry could have learned from watching Beckham.
We all know the scandals he's been involved in yet he's still thought of has a happy cheeky chalky type who's still raking in the millions the various avenues.
Whoever runs his PR is genius and Harry badly needed the same kind of advice (and to have taken it!) but the moment has passed for him now and I don't think he and Meghan would be prepared to have put in anything like the amount of work that David and Victoria have put in over the years.

Twistybranch · 08/09/2024 21:15

So this is the new shtick….’joy’ ( which is also the Harris campaign buzz word) and this being a new chapter.

She keeps using this word Joy and how she’s just about peace, love and harmony. ….after of course overseeing two families destroyed with her and Harry’s exploits.

Im guessing the ‘theme’ of the cooking show will be ‘joy’ ….shes never takes a day off, always thinking about how to promote herself, constantly. The idea of ‘joy’ was also brought up in her Columbia trip.

She is also promoting the idea of this being a ‘chapter’ of her life. Clearly trying to move on from the fucking grifter chaos and trying to turn a page and now be seen as serene and just oh so grateful. She also used the idea of a ‘chapter’ in her life in the recent NYT article talking about her investments

“Investing in them has helped me line up for this chapter where I’m investing in myself,” Meghan said.

I mean who talks like this, is this therapist speak or marketing garbage? I don’t know….but that Bachelor producer is whispering in her ear again….

Meghans trademark not allowed

Also the response to serious threats to the family have been quite different.

BBC NEWS | England | Nine held over Beckham kidnap plot

It must have been terrifying for them, but they didn't demand protection at public expense (though that is sometimes given to private individuals eg Rushdie)

Twistybranch · 08/09/2024 21:23

I’m going for therapy speak…I’m guessing her and Harry spend a lot of time in the therapists office … or marriage counsellors

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 21:25

lol. You beat me to it @IsoldeWagner. Wtf is that even supposed to mean? 😂😂😂

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 08/09/2024 21:27

@WinnieTheW0rm And you don't hear the Beckham's demanding the government make exceptions for them and allow their bodyguards to carry guns in the UK.
They arguably live a higher profile life than H&M, often pictured at public events, eating in popular restaurants, cruising the Med etc and they manage to include their children in everything without making a huge song & dance about privacy, safety, paps and car chases!

Rumshotsandrainshowers · 08/09/2024 21:36

To be fair Victoria and David got it wrong after the Rebecca loos affair, they went all out with happy family pr which just looked ridiculous. However they learned their lesson, they say nothing, they just crack on and ignore it, a bit like the royals,

the thing is they don’t court it, they are both very talented in their own right, Megan and Harry do court it, as they are not,

Twistybranch · 08/09/2024 21:36

ok so ‘joy’ therapy is an actual thing …and a new wellness craze. I knew it was weird and why she kept mentioning certain word. So
gratitude , joy and intentionality Are all the therapy buzz words.

https://archive.ph/DHPQS

From the Harpers Bazaar joy therapy article:
“intentional cultivation of moments to help you connect to whatever it is in life that brings you joy. Joy is an essential ingredient of our mental, physical and emotional well-being.”

From CN travelle article on joy therapy: (meghan talks about gratitude)

“Another thing that we would look at is gratitude – or focusing on what is already good,”

Twistybranch · 08/09/2024 21:44

And we’ve got joy therapy to thank for the continued acts of service meghan performs as volunteering is seen as important to joy therapy.

From Harpers Bazaar article:

I have found that spending my time connecting with communities around the world, helping to deliver activities to empower groups, really increases my own wellbeing, too.

God help us

I was really impressed with DB when talking about this horrible time in his life on the Netflix Doc. Very brave and only about 24 when it happened. He puts the whining little man that is Harry to great shame. DB may have his faults but I felt real respect for him in this doc. The H&M one I’ve only seen highlighted snippets and it was unbearable, they are unbearable.

Meghan talking about gratitude? Don’t make me laugh 😂

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 21:49

Joy and gratitude? What hypocrisy.

Serenster · 08/09/2024 21:53

It’s a shame that Meghan didn’t come across the concept of gratitude for all aspects of her life a bit earlier.

Like when she visited women living in poverty and who had experienced incredible violence and hardships in South Africa, but told the world that she was not okay with her life in the media spotlight and said “it's not enough to just survive something, right. That's not the point of life. You've got to thrive, you've got to feel happy”.

BunnyLake · 08/09/2024 21:56

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 21:49

She really is ridiculous. As if anyone associates the words joy and gratitude with her! She’s the most ungrateful madam around and certainly doesn’t spread joy to anyone (not even Harry judging by the face he’s always got on him lately). She’s not even embarrassed to be consistently seen to steal ideas and thoughts that are not her own.

WinnieTheW0rm · 08/09/2024 21:59

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 21:49

Joy and gratitude? What hypocrisy.

They're fairly standard mindfulness concepts wrapped up in new lingo.

Actually listing a few things every day that have made you happy and are glad/grateful you have in your life is a mindfulness practice, and is one of Michael Mosley's Just One Things

Joy (I think) refers to the idea of identifying what in your life brings you pleasure (nurtures you) and then bringing more of that in to your life (general idea being that the things you feed are the things that grow).

They're well known concepts, that have been described (over centuries!) in various ways. Some thinkers convey them better than others

Uh huh, but you don’t use wellness language in everyday conversations with people…that’s batshit

Americanpseudoroyaltorture · 08/09/2024 22:06

Ugh, coupled with the authoritarian desire to curtail free speech (which both the Democrats and Sussexes advocate for), the evocation of "joy" as a political campaign or social is not a joyful in any way whatsoever - quite the opposite and pretty sinister.
