Meghans trademark not allowed

The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

Also think he was at home with having his working life organised for him now he has to do the organising himself he can't. It seems they are either not employing the staff that could do that or they are and not listening to them when they try to hence the high staff turnover.

Californian style celebrity fame and followers also requires work you can't just rock up and expect it to happen. He got the fame and followers when in the Royal Family but that was because others were doing the work in the background, I think he has had a rude awakening as to just how much the grey suits actually did and achieved on his behalf.

And he could have been given the seat with the leg!

I did wonder if he was sat so far away due to a table leg situation but looking at the way it was set up that doesn't seem plausible.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/09/2024 14:00

My fault for not making it clear, @Americanpseudoroyaltorture - it was indeed the South Africa trip and the ignoring of the HIV/abuse account I meant, and I'm not sure being allegedly unhappy is much of an excuse when all she had to do was listen

Agree, though, that there was even less excuse in Nigeria, and definitely agree that "all the world's a stage, she's the star, everyone else is a bit part player who ceases to exist when the camera in not on her"

He seems utterly directionless and bored.

All these apparent projects and he seems incapable of knuckling down and doing anything with any of them.

Edited

So is she though, they are very similar, I mean look at the Spotify interviews, she dodged most of them and dubbed her voice in, how bad is that. Look at the mess of aro, even inexperienced if it was your business you’d bloody google. Neither of them are grafters, they just want to fanny around and have others do the work.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 08/09/2024 14:35

Maybe it shows that the RF do do a lot of work behind the scenes - given Harry and Meghan opted out of that too.
Too much prep/ homework and not enough pay.

The Beckhams are also very shrewd. Would you align yourself with a desperate couple who have little credibility and would sell anyone's privacy?
Or someone who will be Head of State and shown none of the above inclinations?

The Beckham's are far too PR savvy to align themselves with H&M. They are also pro Royal. There would be nothing in it for them to be friends with the Markles.

Same with all the super-A Listers. The Obamas were on terms of friendship with the late Queen. And I'd be surprised if the Clooneys didn't hang out with the Royals on the quiet. They have a house not far from Windsor, and Amal's humanitarian interests are similar to Sophie's.

No-one who is anyone will want to be seen having anything to do with this cut-price, increasingly irrelevant pair.

Absolutely.

Out of interest, was that one about the Spotify dubbing ever confirmed?
I've more or less given up thinking anything positive about the pair, but thought it was an accusation rather than something which had been shown to be so ... though I guess the unwillingness to produce any real work may have added to the "f*cking grifters" remark

Hasn't he made his own honey? In fact I think he met with KC II to discuss farming or something and presented him with some.

And don't forget the flight attendant who knelt down and thanked her for her service.

Had to Google to check my memory. DM it is. The sacrifice!!!😂

"After settling into her seat, Meghan recalled how the head of the plane crew knelt down next to her and gave her some encouraging words.
She explained: 'He took his hat off and I just remember looking at him.
'And he goes, "We appreciate everything you did for our country."'
Discussing the emotional impact it had on her, Meghan continued: 'It was the first time that I felt like someone saw the sacrifice."

It’s so delusional it’s hilarious

@TheStroppyFeminist - they really are very entertaining.

Having read the last few posts, it strikes me that Harry could have used David Beckham's post playing career as a template for himself.
The high end luxury brand ambassador deals, the 'gentleman farmer' which would then naturally lead into an ARO type venture, and various high profile charity ambassadorships which don't involve his wife tagging along!
Beckham had plenty of skeletons in the closet but has managed to maintain a mostly very like-able image and is still in very high demand for lots of ventures.

Americanpseudoroyaltorture · 08/09/2024 17:43

@Puzzledandpissedoff I'm pretty sure the Archewell producer who said she came up with the idea of the podcast and did the interviews Meghan found beneath her spoke out.

One of the factors about the Beckhams though is they are very family focussed and have a good and positive relationship with all sides. ( maybe the odd thing between V and her daughter in law) . David isn't out there whingeing about what he didn't have in life when he was young.

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 08/09/2024 18:06

@thecrossIambearing I agree with you 100%, Harry threw away the chance of the opportunities that Beckham has created for himself by setting out to destroy his family.
The Bexkhams could have been role models for the Sussexes in how to turn their high profile in $100's of millions but their spiteful nature got in their way.

I don’t want to exaggerate, it’s not a significant feature but I just find it jarring when I catch a hint of it. Her voice is much lower than it used to be in Suits, comes with age I suppose.

thecrossIambearing · 08/09/2024 18:10

Harry still chewing when he shook hands 😂

The trouble with that is that DB comes across in everything he does as a genuinely nice guy who has his feet firmly on the ground. It doesn't come over as being an "image" imho, it's who he is. Whereas since striking out on his own Harry just looks like a sulky, spoilt, over privileged brat throwing his toys out of the pram and has a fairly unlikeable public character now that the palace Svengalis aren't stage managing his image with such incredible skill. I don't think he could manage a likeable image wothout the Men in Grey Suits.

he really has grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 12:39

Yes, he said that in Spare. Gaming and having a spliff.

Ah did he, I haven't read Spare.

I've nothing against gaming as a hobby, but it doesn't sound like the healthiest use of time for someone without a real sense of purpose in life, a busy job or other outdoor hobbies. Particularly someone who's prone to paranoia and who harbours a deeply held sense of anger and resentment.

It's not like he has a very hectic life and gaming is a way to decompress from it. He's got so little going on.

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 08/09/2024 18:54

@StiffyByngsDogBartholomew I agree, Harry is long past help now, his true character has been made public for the whole world to see. If he'd been more considered and less impatient over his exit plans, I think he could have gone down the Beckham road to success.
Of course that would also have involved him actually listening to the world class advice he could easily have afforded so maybe success was never really an option for him!

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/09/2024 18:57

David Beckham has a huge talent that people around the world admire and respect, the looks of a model, the ‘perfect’ family image (despite the ups and downs) and comes across in the main as genuinely nice guy, that’s just to name a few things, Harry has none of the above, he is literally the polar opposite of DB, there is nothing the average person in the street can admire about Harry.
