Meghans trademark not allowed

The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

The table picture for example - who was sitting on Harry's right? The answer isn't "no-one" unless you can show another picture demonstrating that. It's "we don't know as the picture was cropped so nothing could be seen beyond him" and for all we know, the join in the tables was in the middle of a long top table.

Google is your friend here. The reverse angle shows no-one is sitting to Harry’s right, as there is a window next to him. There is presumably a person sitting at right angle to him however. He is very much relegated to the least important seat at the head of the table.

Really - you can see at least one other wine glass beyond him, and wide spacing between people (only a fraction of elbow the other side of Meghan) and you can't see the end of the table (it cuts off at the start of the next window blind, showing there is more of the room in that direction)

Are there any shots which show the whole table?

Serenster · 08/09/2024 09:16

Did you miss the bit where I said there is presumably someone sitting at a right angle to him? Despite quoting it above. That is their wine glass. There is clearly no-one sitting beside him.

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 09:17

Well, he clearly wasn't the most important person at that table!

NearlySeptember · 08/09/2024 09:24

That's an interesting photo. I don't think Harry has ever grasped the power he had as a working royal was to bring the people together who know how to make things happen. Instead he seems to believe that he made things happen and is probably very confused that it isn't working in his new life.

Absolutely this! He was so protected when he was a Royal. Media, probs sky out of guilt, drew him as as some jolly chappy!

Never any mention of drugs or being let out to drive out of camp when CDT came to test! Unheard of to be allowed to leave without being tested but Harry was free to drive out to help William with some pre-wedding (post-wedding? Can't remember) shit! Fucking grifter.

So protected!

Also the world respected our Queen and doors opened easier then.

Charles hasn't got the same worldwide respect. I think he's a figure of ridicule with his "I wish I was your tampon" history with his side piece.

Hopefully when Will is King we get a monarch worthy of respect.

MinnieCauldwell · 08/09/2024 09:25

I seem to remeber MM saying that she bought H membership of a private helicopter club around where they live. He has never been mentioned as seen flying. Would assume one can easily retrain and get a civvie licence if you were once an apache pilot.
Theres lots of footage of Charles, Andrew and William flying, even Fergie flew solo to get her licence, and did the solo flight in front of the press IIRC

[Disclaimer: I searched “Harry” and “table” on twitter to come up with this video which shows you the whole layout of the event - I’m not endorsing the account in any way here! ]

This video shows you that the tables are laid out in a rectangular “U” shape, and Harry is seated at the top left corner as you look at it. No other guest is beside him - in the video you can see the translator pulled up to the corner. The next guest is seated at right angles to Harry.

Interestingly, you can see from this video that Meghan, the Vice President and her partner are all seated along the one table that forms the top of the U. They could have seated Meghan, Harry and the Vice President in those three seats - but didn’t. So yes, Harry was relegated to the least important seat at the top of the U.

@Rumshotsandrainshowers

The article you provide a link to is interesting but the terminology used is vague to say the least and I wouldn’t rely on Newsweek for accuracy when it comes to aviation.

“Harry trained as an Apache helicopter pilot following his first tour of Afghanistan with the Blues and Royals regiment. In 2012, after his training, the prince was redeployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Army Air Corps, where he served a 20-week deployment as a helicopter co-pilot and gunner”.

The Apache is a two pilot aircraft, both crew members have flight controls, both are qualified pilots (“ co-pilot” simply designates who is 2 i/c on the aircraft, not that that individual is a lesser pilot ). the co-pilot on the Apache also has the “gunner” role.

First tour in Afghan H deployed as co-pilot/gunner, before H deployed to Afghan for a second time he upgraded to the commander/pilot position.

Hope that helps.

Prince Harry in Apache Helicopter

Prince Harry war hero status hugely understated by royals until "Spare"

The full story of Harry's military career was only added to the Royal Family's official website 10 years after he flew an Apache helicopter in Afghanistan.

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 09:30

@NearlySeptember Charles never said "I wish I was your tampon" to Camilla.
How many times?
That was an illegally recorded private conversation. How about some intimate, private conversation of yours was splashed across the press, misinterpreted and used against you for ever more? It's absolutely disgusting how that came about and how it's been used against him.
For information: he joked that he would be unlucky enough to be reincarnated as a tampon, swirling around a toilet. It was obviously a private joke.

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 09:32

I'm sure Harry is a fully trained and qualified army pilot, who engaged in missions.
He's hardly a "Legend of Aviation" though, but that's just in the realms of the nonsensical Celebrity Award parallel universe.

Even more interesting is that Harry starts eating whilst the man is still giving his talk about wine. Just after Meghan has touched him on the arm. No one else seems to be eating, only listening. Bit rude of Harry 😆

I give up after this. I really do.

a gunner is

Gunner, in armored, reconnaissance or mechanized units, a soldier who occupies a dedicated gun position in a military vehicle. Machine Gunner, in infantry platoons, a specialist trained in using machine guns. Air gunner, or aerial gunner, a member of an aircrew who operates a machine gun or auto-cannon.

the copilot and gunner

What does a co-pilot gunner do?

The pilot sits in the rear section, and the co-pilot/gunner sits in the front section. As you might expect, the pilot maneuvers the helicopter and the gunner aims and fires the weapons. Both sections of the cockpit include flight and firing controls in case one pilot needs to take over full operation.

Harry would only have to pilot if something happened to the pilot. We are not aware that ever happened, as I’m posit e he’d tell us. Even if it did it would be rare. He sat in the aircraft and fired the gun. He was not flying it.

balletflats · 08/09/2024 09:49

You don't get to sit in a seat with controls unless you are competent to fly! That is something so basic that it is not worth stating. This is a multimillion pound aircraft, something that this country has only a limited number of, and no chance of buying more. It is not a dual-control Corsa from the local driving school. No possibility whatsoever that anyone would allow Harry to risk the lives of himself, his colleague and the aircraft if there was any suspicion that he could not fly and land safely.

Mylovelygreendress · 08/09/2024 09:52

Very interesting video @Serenster . The guy sitting immediately to H’s right is an interpreter then the next diner is at right angles .
To be honest it looks a bit like a canteen !

Yes, Harry was sitting at the butt end of the table that was right angle to the main table, where Meghan, the VP and the VP's partner were seated.

Bit of a come down …incidentally this is the photo which - allegedly - set off a tantrum by Meghan . Then the Rose & William rumours started

Oh dear..well if you want to quote the dictionary I’ll add this:

Merriam-Webster
https://www.merriam-webster.com › dictionary › copilot

Jul 27, 2024 — noun. co·pi·lot ˈkō-ˌpī-lət. Synonyms of copilot. : a qualified pilot who assists or relieves the pilot but is not in command.”

Once you start using the term “co-pilot” in the job description, as you now have and as Newsweek did, even in combination with other terms or roles, then the individual labeled as such has passed pilot training, is a current and qualified pilot on type and would be expected to be able to fly the aircraft when required from the relevant seat.

Just to reiterate H had a primary role of co-pilot gunner (first tour) but he is also a qualified pilot. Second tour he was pilot/commander….

I think in the flying community (which can be a darned site more cynical than this place) there has never been much if any doubt that H was a qualified Apache pilot, the much bigger question that gets asked at times is how much actual flying H did in theatre.

David Beckhams' Netflix series won the Emmy for Outstanding Documentary, and they didn't even need to pay for it!

Been seeing quite a few mentions of Harry and Meghan wanting to reconnect with the Beckhams, attending Harrys' 40th birthday party etc,, wonder what's behind those leaks.

Meghan really fucked up when she accused Victoria of leaking to the press. (Later proved to be a hairstylist who leaked M info)
David is popular enough to deflect infidelity and taking money from Qatar for football bid endorsement plus he’s very close to the royals eg seen queuing to pay respect to Queen Elizabeth.
Being friendly with the Beckhams would be good for any future business launch and/or trying to get past the RF grey rock.

It is an interesting video - the space between Harry and Meghan just looks as if he was tacked on there as an afterthought, like he was an unexpected guest. Agree it looks a bit like a canteen set up and as for Harry starting to eat whilst everyone else was politely listening to the Chef talk about wine! It's odd, clearly they didn't think Harry's status meant he should be sat close to the other VIPs.

SadOrWickedFairy · 08/09/2024 10:14

I doubt that will happen, as you say DB is close to the Royals and particularly William with William's role as FA President. Also DB would love a Knighthood and he won't get one through Harry.

IsoldeWagner · 08/09/2024 10:17

The Beckhams are also very shrewd. Would you align yourself with a desperate couple who have little credibility and would sell anyone's privacy?
Or someone who will be Head of State and shown none of the above inclinations?

Well tbh the man is ignoring Harry anyway and all attention is on Meghan .

I put that in first place in the Sussexes’ Preposterous Claims Index.

Not far behind at no. 2 is the “two-hour relentless pursuit”, “highly aggressive” car chase through the streets of New York.

No 3 would be the flight attendant who knelt in front of her, hat off, thanking her for her service when they were on their 'freedom flight's 😂 😂 😂
