The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

What did she actually do? Have a big wedding paid for? Did a couple of tours? FFS she must be nuts to recount stories like this as is he.

She sacrificed being able to keep freebies

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 07/09/2024 20:43

That's just so cringeworthy, I would have cringed myself inside out reading that back if I were her.

I have to say, when I first watched that on Netflix, I thought she must be suffering from poor mental health as it was so obviously untrue. Tbh that was my main take about the pair of them after watching whole series.

They’re both barmy.

The personal sacrifice of being a dutiful and devoted member of the Royal Family, with no tangible reward.

what for all of 5 minutes! She comes across as being the absolute opposite of self sacrificing and altruistic .

What do you mean by no tangible reward?

I admire your economy of words. So brief; so true.

She was cast out, barefoot in the snow, with ne'er a rag to call her own. Scapegoated, victimised, our heroine rose above the misdeeds of an evil family to create jam for the masses.

Isolde is being sarcastic @Mummyoflittledragon

notimagain · 07/09/2024 22:32

The whole aircraft story sounded iffy from the outset.

For example try finding any airline in recent years that has issued its male cabin staff or (as the DM puts it “airport cabin crew”) with a uniform hat they could take off if they felt the occasion demanded it.

There are one or two airside roles at a very few airlines where hats are part of the rig these days but those individuals are not likely to take time out to wander into the passenger cabin, kneel down and have a chat during boarding.

SadOrWickedFairy · 07/09/2024 22:39

Did they fly away on a commercial jet or was it a private one?

StartupRepair · 07/09/2024 22:44

Didn't she arrive in Botswana for their third date telling Harry the entire air crew fawned on her as they were all suits fans?

notimagain · 07/09/2024 22:48

@SadOrWickedFairy

Fair question - it is not clear from the articles I have seen.

There may well be exceptions (be interested to know) but hats for male cabin crew even, in the biz jet sector, seemed to fall out of favour many years ago.

Serious question, is she a fantasist? Pathological liar? No one can lie that much and be mentally of sound mind surely? Particularly when the lies are in front of the whole world and can easily be disproved? I know all the lies are amusing to us on here but when you look at in all seriousness, it it’s disturbing abnormal behaviour, if she lies like this in public what lies does she tell to Harry in private? I think it’s actually very concerning.

thecrossIambearing · 08/09/2024 00:41

I've watched a reel today about her narcissism and how people like this are deluded about themselves. I can't see this all ending well for her.

SqueakyDinosaur · 08/09/2024 01:37

There's a YouTube channel called The Behavior Panel, twi of whom are ex CIA (I think) interviewers/interrogators. Their analysis of the Oprah interview is long, but absolutely fascinating IMO.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 08/09/2024 01:57

I do think the RF must worry about Harry on a personal/ actual family level, as well as official level. I think he’s been vulnerable to manipulation- but isn’t a great person at taking responsibility for his actions either.
a complete mess of a situation

Thedom · 08/09/2024 06:55

David Beckhams' Netflix series won the Emmy for Outstanding Documentary, and they didn't even need to pay for it!

Been seeing quite a few mentions of Harry and Meghan wanting to reconnect with the Beckhams, attending Harrys' 40th birthday party etc,, wonder what's behind those leaks.

I have often wondered if she is an actual fantasist. She reminds me of the characters Billy Liar (UK) and Walter Mitty (US). Compulsive lying even when it’s blatantly obvious or easily checked is surely part of some type of personality disorder?

I was just thinking the same, but no one ever seems to call her out on it.

I totally agree. I think there is something seriously wrong with them both sadly.
And I think a lot of what comes across as rudeness is a total lack of understanding of the rules of social engagement and a fear of being left out. Much like a child she looks v unsure of herself unless she is in control and doesn't seem to have any idea of the normal rules of social interaction. It is all v strange and the more lies and cock ups I see the more I think there is something underlying going on.

Why doesn't she call it Jammy Markle?
