Meghans trademark not allowed

The patent office apparently has turned down the trademark of Meghans new jam making business American Riviera Orchard on the grounds that you can't trademark geographical locations. You would have thought somebody would have picked up on this before now.

I’ve always wondered, because of her desperation at being seen as Royal (monogram above), if they will purchase a tiara and call it the Sussex tiara, to then be passed down the Sussex line.

Im guessing ethically sourced emeralds, Californian wildflowers, intertwined palm trees….made by a community cooperative of women in Venezuela?

Yep, clear as day, their logo is a copy with a few changes here and there. 😏 Makes her a bit of a weirdo, no?

As more is revealed /linked or noticed it certainly becomes very weird 😳

Nothing would surprise me.

Royal monogram and crests are, objectively speaking, incredibly flashy and tacky. You can get away with it if it's on a gate to the monarch's house but detached from a thousand years of history you are just left with tack.

Meghan would have been better advised to create a modern logo that is relevant to her life in the US, rather than use that fancy calligraphy which is rather old fashioned.

Yes, it doesn't smack of modernising the RF, which was her goal apparently, does it?

I haven't ever thought that was her goal. I know many people believe she went into the marriage with a well thought out plan but I have never thought that. (And I would claim that the way they have flitted from is to idea done they left bears that out.) I think she just assumed the Royal family worked like the celebrity world and didn't listen when anyone tried to explain how different it was, which must have been hard for them to get to do with Harry in the background agreeing with everything she thought because he was desperate to get married.

I’m baffled by how incompetent she is. It’s like she is two different people; the confident one with the microphone and spotlight on her and the bumbling fool who can’t put a foot right once the spotlight and mic have been taken away.

Noshowlomo · 07/09/2024 15:31

Remember that cringe text she had from
Beyonce that she simple had to read out loud about breaking through generational trauma or something. Cringe

She was successful as an actress and with The Tig. I wonder if the problem is that she is now trying to live in two worlds, celebrity and royalty, that are completely different and which don't really go together. I think she needs to pick one, well actually they already have, so she needs to let the other one go. Which is probably impossible with Harry expecting to be treated like a senior royal wherever he goes. He really is a bit of a liability.

IsoldeWagner · 07/09/2024 15:34

I think she has had a taste of being royal and can't let go.

Uricon2 · 07/09/2024 15:38

A few papers saying that Harry gets £8 million from the Queen Mother's legacy next week.

That won't go far.

Yeah, that was really bizarre, didn't M say something to effect of 'I can't believe she knows who I am", when they had previously met Beyonce and Jay-Z, who had been in a line up to meet them at the Lion King premiere in London, such a dramatic lie.

Same premiere they were pitching for a paying job for Meghan, and I think it's the same one where, in her very fertile imagination, one of the cast allegedly told her that South Africans were dancing in the street when she married Harry in the same way they did for Nelson Mandela.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 07/09/2024 15:44

IsoldeWagner · 06/09/2024 19:32

No, she doesn't have any sort of following apart from that strange Sussex Squad and some fangirls and boys, who probably don't have the impact or spending power required.

If she launched, I honestly think that it will be people like the Daily Mail buying and reviewing the jam. They will compare it to Duchy’s Original and Highgrove. People Magazine will gush because they are a paid for outlet who received free PR box.

Thedom · 07/09/2024 15:44

I often wondered why she didn' reuse The Tig name, maybe something to do with this ...

"Tig Productions is Kevin Costner's first production company, named for Costner's paternal grandmother, Tig. The company has been dormant since 2006."

Abouttimeforanamechange · 07/09/2024 15:51

The one Harry ditched the Royal Marines for?

I thought that was hilarious, but actually - so cringe worthy. Dancing in the streets? Mandela?! Needless to say, the only South African there denied it. They don't seem to learn..

I put that in first place in the Sussexes’ Preposterous Claims Index.

Not far behind at no. 2 is the “two-hour relentless pursuit”, “highly aggressive” car chase through the streets of New York.

You can check it yourself from the comfort of your own home! Here it is on Apple Maps - the monograms flanks the gates on the right hand side as you look at the palace.

Thank you! And to the other posters who have posted links that confirm
(had a bit of a brain in neutral moment - I've been battling tech on other fronts today and I'm a bit low on mental energy!)

It’s my birthday next week, the thought of getting £8million for my birthday and it not going far is so out there to me. It’s a different world isn’t it!

KnickerlessParsons · 07/09/2024 16:50

OMG! The likeness between the ARO insignia ( is that the word?) and BP gates is way too much to be a coincidence surely?!😲

What about “ we got married 3 days earlier” ?

That's not an official NF page!

There has been no mention of these alleged 'shows' in the 'coming soon' page on the official NF site. Nor have they made any announcements on any of their social media. So, no, NF have not confirmed the existence of the 'cooking show'.

It doesn't really matter what 'Archewell' says. NF are the ones who decide if they will stream the shows or not.

And don't forget the flight attendant who knelt down and thanked her for her service.

Had to Google to check my memory. DM it is. The sacrifice!!!😂

"After settling into her seat, Meghan recalled how the head of the plane crew knelt down next to her and gave her some encouraging words.
She explained: 'He took his hat off and I just remember looking at him.
'And he goes, "We appreciate everything you did for our country."'
Discussing the emotional impact it had on her, Meghan continued: 'It was the first time that I felt like someone saw the sacrifice."
