Bloody hell
if that’s genuine then that person is unhinged!

ThePoshUns · 15/08/2024 17:13

OMG we better watch our backs! Complete loons.

Gorgonemilezola · 15/08/2024 17:14

This is something I came across on twitter which is equally batshit. Some of the comments are terrifying

These people are clearly deranged and are not living in the real world. You have to wonder about their mental health and the obvious cultish nature of the squad couldn't be clearer from that post.

They are so unhinged and wrong-wrong-wrong that you'd be tempted not to take them seriously (what "crown" does Duchess Meghan, the best and most exalted Duchess of all time, wear, actually?). Yet, they are that blood thirsty that some of them at least should be considered be a real and present danger to life.

MummyJ12 · 15/08/2024 17:27

Posted this on the Columbia thread but thought I’d post it here as well. It’s from a member of the Sussex Squad who knew the exact time of their arrival. How on earth would they know that if Meghan and Harry weren’t in communication with them?

New Meghan and Harry interview
Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 15/08/2024 18:41

Do they realise people compare Meghan to SpongeBob Squarepants, or is the cartoon ironic?

PolkaStripeShirt · 15/08/2024 21:44

I just don't get a warm vibe from them, not emanating outwards, they seem quite evasive to deeper questions in longer interviews, and it feels a bit contrived.

To be honest I don’t think either of them is very bright .

Bu...but...They're huggers!

PotatoPie111 · 15/08/2024 22:12

What is the point of this trip? I think these faux royal visits are incredibly naff.

Yes. The mask is definitely slipping

sausawyee · 16/08/2024 00:13

She just looks at him as if he is going to make a huge gaffe and spoil it for her. Her face is like " oh for god's sake can't you just say something sensible" 🤷‍♀️

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 16/08/2024 05:23

Seen a few photos of them on twitter now, she looks like she’s having a good time (even if she’s faking it) but he looks like he doesn’t want to be there and can’t be bothered to fake it at all 😣

It must be pretty easy to select a photo where one of them looks a bit off.

Lots to choose from?

Yes, so even when 95% show normal or even happy engagement, there will always be some that support the editorial line (which can take a brief glance into the audience and spin it as disengagement)

I'm always wary of over-interpretation of a single shot. Not least because I remember how during the KateHate the same tactic was used against her, and the odd photo of the Waleses looking away from each other and the Princess not smiling was taken to be proof. It was wrong then and it's wrong here as well.

Not2identifying · 16/08/2024 08:40

@WinnieTheW0rm I agree. I remember when she was pregnant with Archie, I was a 'fan', I suppose, took an interest and was hoping she'd do well. All the photos of her holding her 'bump' took me aback. Many of them looked very over-the-top. I figured maybe wearing heels threw her off balance, maybe the photographers were picking a tiny moment, a photo taken during the split second she did it, to try to explain it. Even though I'm now more critical (the South African interview was a turning point for me although I still try to be fair) I am still undecided if she really was holding her bump awkwardly for long periods of time or the media chose images that were unrepresentative.

JADS · 16/08/2024 08:45

I've watched the interview and Harry comes across as an absolute idiot in it. Meghan comes across as insincere and lacking empathy. To be fair Jane Pauley has a very weird interview style, but the whole thing comes off as awkward and uncomfortable.

I dont understand what the point is either. They aren't experts on internet safety. Harry apparently spouting on about how is 5 and 3 year old 'aren't on social media' as if this is a triumph for their parents. Does he not realise that NO children that age are on social media? What is wrong with him? Why is Columbia relevant to their current concerns? Just what on earth is the point of them both?

Hughs · 16/08/2024 10:04

Come on guys, hats off to Super Dad for not "letting" his 3 yr old post on Twitter 😂

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/08/2024 10:19

😂😂 Agreed. To a certain extent, that is how parents of littlies can be at times. At least I wasn’t dumb enough to voice a silly opinion thinking my little darling would be an angel in adolescence because I protect and communicate with my dd so much better and thus not making the same mistakes as my parents.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 16/08/2024 10:20

I find them both very disconnected from their children in the way they speak about them. Generic, unrealistic, passive aggressive. Just unlike any other parents I have ever heard.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 16/08/2024 10:26

And before anyone says they are private about their children: they use them as their primary political tool, to position themselves as protectors of children from the internet, whilst simultaneously using them in a highly curated manner to depict the sort of perfect family that simply does not exist but many would drive themselves mad trying to emulate.

sausawyee · 16/08/2024 10:39

Wait until their children are older and want a mobile phone ... no you can't because it's bad for you. But you are on SM all the time....if it's so bad why did you not withdraw from it?

Having watched it myself I agree, JADS, but unfortunately "awkward and uncomfortable" is what you tend to get when people with little expertise are interviewed on a serious subject and try to set themselves up as experts

It's true though that Pauley didn't give them a very easy time, so probably she'll also be on the spit list now ...
