I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread with so many posts deleted by MNHQ 🤔

Waiting for this post to get deleted 😁

The foot soldiers have had their orders! Fingers on the report button!

Waits for deletion message.

As I wasn’t quick enough off the mark to read most of them have the deleted posts been more pro or against the duo? (I’m guessing against).

MaturingCheeseball · 15/08/2024 09:09

When they can’t manage a reasonable argument, some just report, report, report. It’s a bit of a decent hit rate at the moment, which only encourages those with their finger constantly hammering at the report button.

My deletion was an observation that some of the regular foot soldiers seem to have stopped posting over the last few months. I don't understand why it was deleted.

And mine was a response as to when that happened.

Quite peculiar to take offence at that - obviously some highly sensitive people reading if not posting. I wonder which of the talk guidelines were breached 🤔

There was a seismic shift following the announcement from the Princess of Wales. I had taken a break from Mumsnet because it had gotten so bad and MNHQ were doing very little. So I don’t think I saw the worst of it but what I saw on here before I decided to have a break was horrific and the worst bullying I have ever seen on here and the fact that it was aimed at someone very poorly with three young children was just sickening. I came on after the announcement to gauge the reaction and was shocked that a lot of posters had completely disappeared from the platform. Whether they decided, like me that MN wasn’t for them, at least for a while or for other reasons. I don’t know. I think some have name changed in shame and continue to do so. But there were one or two who although very supportive of the couple, I always found respectful and I respected back and I haven’t seen them either. I am also sure that some extreme users of the site will have been banned as MNHQ will have a full picture of posting history and can make a judgement from that.
I do know that MNHQ are being very good at acting on posts that are suspicious from “new” posters that bomb the threads (that look suspiciously Sussex Squad). So they are aware of what is going on and it must be difficult to judge sometimes. If they deem a one word post to be troll hunting then that post will be deleted.
It is frustrating and a shame that there are people who are obviously lurking on these threads to police them rather than to contribute. I think MNHQ need to be careful about this and mindful as it’s not in the spirit of MN.

Mylovelygreendress · 15/08/2024 12:12

Some previously frequent posters who had been vocal in the “ where’s Kate” threads disappeared. I would like to think they were ashamed of some of their comments ( “she’s just lazy” ,” no one needs that long to recover from abdominal surgery” etc etc )

Hughs · 15/08/2024 12:17

I remember a few of them trying to argue that a) it all came from a place of concern and/or b) they were really discussing the PR and nothing to do with Kate personally. The same people who had been speculating wildly and gleefully about divorce, DV, laziness etc etc. Despicable, awful people.

Faux concern and focusing on the PR, the same tactics are still being used by 'new' names.

Didn’t Justine publicly comment a while ago that Mumsnet users were “deranged” or some such when it came to commentary re Meghan? I wonder if that opinion still stands?

A few of us have wondered this also. (On this thread a couple of pages ago).
I now understand why Justine doesn’t give many interviews! I can imagine that she regrets that comment because as others have said, it hasn’t aged well. Although she probably still thinks that the threads are a nightmare to moderate for MNHQ!

MaturingCheeseball · 15/08/2024 13:09

I read that Kamala Harris is probably going to forget her support for Meghan a few years ago - although I’m sure she has other fish to fry at the moment!

I can see why she would need to stay well away from them. The Bidens' also kept their distance during the presidency.

Remember when H and M tried to hitch a lift on Air Force One after The Queen’s funeral even though the Bidens were going nowhere near California?

I actually think that she is partly responsible for the awful behaviour of some M+H supporters, that peaked earlier this year.

It should be a warning to anyone considering working for them - just stay away it will very possibly do your career and reputation more harm than good.

I saw this in response to the NY Post article and thought of your post @BunnyLake. You’re absolutely right.
(I hope you can read it as I screenshot it, sorry if it’s a bit blurry!)

New Meghan and Harry interview
Gorgonemilezola · 15/08/2024 17:05

My goodness........

CoffeeCantata · 15/08/2024 17:06

That's horrific, MummyJ12. They are a crazy cult - and absolutely poisonous as well as stupid.

Who'd be Harry if he decided to/tried to leave the marriage? I should think they'd hunt him down like a dog!!

It's a horrible peek into the darker corners of human nature. Just how and why a clearly unpleasant, self-centred and spiteful person like Meghan attracts such psychotic loyalty is baffling to me. Can't they see what she's really like? They don't care, though, do they? It's like the school bully and her minions.

MummyJ12 · 15/08/2024 17:10

It’s so sinister isn’t it? I wonder why the police don’t get involved more, because they absolutely should be involved in handling this. I think Harry is in a very precarious situation if things do go wrong which I hope they don’t.
