These fans would be exactly the sort of people who'd have loved the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Yes, now THEY were glamorous and chic, weren't they? Let's be positive!

The Windsors both had impeccable style. Always perfectly turned out, with everything tailored, pressed and coordinated.

The Sussexes? Not so much.

Poor Josh Kettler is getting it from the supporters now. They say that he was let go due to him leaking to the press. The irony is that the couple probably asked him to!

It should be a warning to anyone considering working for them - just stay away it will very possibly do your career and reputation more harm than good.

Thedom · 14/08/2024 13:46

There was a time when threads got deleted unnecessarily, because pro H&M posters claimed racism, dog whistling, etc in any discussion about them, the minute there was any critical comment on them, the threads went whoosh.

It took a while, but it doesn't happen anymore, so I think Justine may have revised her stance and perspective on who was slightly deranged.

I know, and that's even with a court case against the Home Office. I wonder if Harry can actually comprehend much at all.
The number of people who believe that security is in the hands of Charles! As if the Home Office, Met Police and various security agencies would allow that to happen! It's very stupid.

I seem to remember Andrew labouring under a similar delusion when the security for him and his daughters was first under discussion?

But not soon enough. They were allowed to carry on for far too long reporting people for anything they didn't agree with including posting gifs because they "don't understand" what they mean.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 14/08/2024 14:10

I don’t particularly have any warm feelings toward Wallis. Perhaps I feel slightly bad for her in that things clearly spun out of control for her with the Ernest and Edward situation and she probably didn’t want to marry him but felt pressured to after he abdicated for her. But one thing I will say for her was she was well dressed, stylish and chic. She wasn’t a looker but my goodness she knew how to dress.

In comparison Meghan is (was) pretty/stunning/gorgeous (whatever adjective you feel is suitable - I say was coz I feel this past year she’s done several things to herself and she no longer looks like the lovely lady she once was a few years ago). But she is a terrible dresser and often looks awful in ill fitting, creased and crumpled outfits.

i'm sure the mods are much more intelligent than to think absolutely any criticism of Meghan = racism, @Thedom, and wondered instead if it wasn't more that they just got sick of the incessant reports - in fact they've more or less said as much on other threads with comments about them taking up inordinate amounts of time

FWIW I'm another who tries to comment on the behaviour rather than the people, but I have to agree that it's getting harder by the day to find anything to admire, and in fairness that can't be easy for those who've built H&M up beyond all reasonable expectations

Typo

Hughs · 14/08/2024 14:30

I do recognise one or two of the old posters from time to time but thankfully much less frequently. I think some of the personal attacks were tactical attempts to get so many posts reported and deleted that they could get a critical thread pulled altogether. But WHY ffs?

MummyJ12 · 14/08/2024 14:44

Because it’s part of the control and censorship agenda. It’s important to the Sussexes so it’s important to their supporters.

Really very weird and also pathetic imo.

And a little scary. I avoided threads for a long time because it was so bad, and I wasn’t even that critical of them (until earlier this year when it became apparent how toxic their supporters were towards Catherine, ironically).

I was once deleted for posting that they would struggle to stay relevant! I didn’t waste my time after that.

BunnyLake · 14/08/2024 15:13

PoppysAunt · 14/08/2024 11:21

@BunnyLake I think their fans aren't - shall we say - well informed. They seem to completely misunderstand the nature of a constitutional monarchy. They often repeat the myth that somehow Charles can control the press, or direct the government, or make laws. There's a very fundamental lack of knowledge.

I see my comment has been removed. 😁

Faux innocence about why the Sussexes are criticised, going off on long tangents about randomly introduced issues (Andrew is a favourite, obvs) and long personal posts about their feelz and claiming they are being attacked. Defend, deflect, delete.

Hughs · 14/08/2024 15:20

They're still here for the deletions then 😂

Surely getting a comment deleted rather suggests that you think it was about you - not sure i would want to draw attention to myself in that way if your post was the one I'm thinking of, about education levels. But then again I suppose you can get a post deleted without being brave enough to reveal your user name, which would be required if they actually engaged with the point.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 14/08/2024 15:38

These deletions are bizarre as the posts were not directed at an individual poster but comments on supporters as a group in general, how can that be against talk guidelines? If that is the case then posts should be removed calling us deranged, forelock tuggers, cap doffers etc.

Odd that Justine can call us deranged yet others are deleted or reported or apparently even blocked for less..

Mine too! They must be lurking spookily in the background ready to pounce!

Very sad, really.

Partly because so many are not British and just turn up and spout or repeat 🤷‍♀️

And also, I think, British or not, they're totally unembarrassed by posting absolute piffle.
Even when it's pointed out that they're talking rubbish it's like water off a duck's back - whereas I'd be mortified to be proved so wrong.

WillowWands · 14/08/2024 17:21

I suspect they are all as thick as Harry.

Yes, Justine was also unsupportive of GC women and introduced the swingeing moderation of posters and pointless sectioning off of FWR from a very early stage in that conversation. That worked out well, didn’t it, for the be kind brigade. Cass Report, anyone? Justine’s words from the world pre Netflix, Spare, the torture of Catherine via the SS and all the other ridiculous stunts pulled by H&M is proof of nothing. If it’s any consolation, pro RF supporters get nothing like the leeway afforded to the SS stalwarts when it comes to moderation.

I think the mods are young and average and reflexively woke until policy tells them otherwise.

I remember messaging back and forth with one about something unrelated the morning after an election and they made some passing remark that just assumed i had voted the "right" way (in their book) and "heh what are these wrong think people like eh?" kind of vibe. As it happened I had voted the way they approved of but it was the kind of crass mistake I'm sure we all made when we were young.

They've been the same on Trans and Meghan and all the big issues like that. Woke is the default until there is an MN party line. But they're all very nice and helpful and well intentioned.

LiterallyOnFire · 14/08/2024 17:32

Young ON average, I mean. Oops. Blush
