@shockthemonkey @GiveMeSpanakopita wasn’t Diana pregnant re: stairs incident? Would need to look it up.

Perhaps as so vanishingly rare/unusual & there was apparently NO help at all is why M hasn’t ‘scraped the surface’? Why on earth did they go that night to the event & not say taken ill or come up with a cover story? W was able to duck out when K was diagnosed with cancer so why go through with an event when both in crisis?

User14March · 07/08/2024 16:56

@PoppysAunt why didn’t she call the team is the question? The taboo of mental illness for Royals? Not allowed to?

PoppysAunt · 07/08/2024 16:59

Diana was pregnant when she claimed that she threw herself down the stairs. She was immediately referred to a psychiatrist. When she flew down from Balmoral to London it was said to be for "a medical appointment". She said in her autobiography that she was seen by a psychiatrist, but she befriended Julia Samuel, a psychologist who helped her, and who also worked with William and Harry. I think she may be William's Godmother as well? They're still close, anyway.

User14March · 07/08/2024 16:59

@GiveMeSpanakopita Diana was 4 months plus re: her apparent suicide bid. So in this small sample not that unusual?…

There is no taboo. Of course she could have called her team. It's really nonsense for people to claim otherwise. I have no idea why she didn't call one of her team, and I'm even more puzzled as to why Harry didn't either. Seems like reckless negligence to me.

Just a reminder that the husband of the (minor aristocrat) doctor H&M claimed oversaw the birth at the Portland has denied she was there. Another detail that doesn’t add up.

I didn’t know about this !
Curiouser and curiouser .

I think the difference is that Diana got help immediately because the family were concerned.

@PoppysAunt she went to HR as her first line. Which as you say is very odd given care package. I was badgering the poor midwives re: BF alone.

I know! She must have had regular appointments. When they said "is everything ok?" , did she just say "yes"?
Why didn't Harry contact them, or Julia Samuel, or his own therapist..... anyone?!

User14March · 07/08/2024 17:15

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar where did they make this claim on consultant?

H thinks preg tests take about 30 mins too, given he fell asleep whilst it was processing as took so very long.

sensitivesarah · 07/08/2024 17:15

That necklace she is wearing by Cartier looks ridiculous, it's literally a nail around her neck. Nail you build with, not finger nail design.

The bracelet version is nice but just my opinion the necklace is ridiculous. They also start at £12,800 and go up to £40,000. Ugly necklace and even uglier price tag.

Think of the beautiful necklaces you could buy for that money. No taste!

User14March · 07/08/2024 17:19

@PoppysAunt I think they were concerned with confidentiality hence in house & also I think she said she wanted a residential stay.

On the suicidal ideation is it really so vanishingly rare? If both D & M felt this way I find it hard to believe not far more commonplace than research & studied suggest (?)

User14March · 07/08/2024 17:21

@sensitivesarah it’s throwaway everyday as they can easily afford, Cartier vibe with simple outfit.

PoppysAunt · 07/08/2024 17:24

@User14March there would have been no problem with confidentiality. None at all. She could have been admitted somewhere, there are lots of places. It's just absurd that they claim otherwise. Royals have confidential treatment all the time. For example, Charles had a prostate checkup, we only knew because he decided to talk about his health problems.
Meghan would have been appropriately cared for, and confidentiality observed.

OK but she still wouldn't have got it had they not thought she was capable of doing a good job

Yes and the dynamics between them would have been important, so already having a friendship would have helped with the online chemistry. However, she didn't just arrive as some random actress going for an audition who got the job based solely on her audition, she had a contact who strongly pushed for her to get the part as his girlfriend.

User14March · 07/08/2024 17:29

@PoppysAunt I read somewhere re: residential treatment stints not the go to & think I read that’s what was her hope & expectation.

I especially don’t understand why they felt they had to push through with the event.

sausawyee · 07/08/2024 17:34

@WillowWands why does induction and epidural not make sense? I had both .

The thing with epidurals though is that they take several hours at least to wear off. You would have to be in a wheelchair.

Thedom · 07/08/2024 17:38

I think the surrogate rumours are really far fetched, she had the classic pregnancy weight gain and post pregnancy look. There is no way that can be faked.

sausawyee · 07/08/2024 17:39

I'm sure Meghan gave birth to Archie as she was very moon faced and thick around her middle for a long time. I don't know about Lillibet as she was not so visible with that pregnancy being in the USA.

She actually looks like a different person then!

I don't know what you mean by your first sentence, but I can't think that they'd actually block help and support for a depressed pregnant woman like that.

Thedom · 07/08/2024 17:42

She was pregnant with lilibet when she did the Oprah interview and looked pregnant, full round face.

She looks so beautiful and very youthful in that photo with newborn Archie.

PoppysAunt · 07/08/2024 17:43

I agree with you, @sausawyee and @Thedom .
I definitely think she was pregnant. They could have done what many celebrities do, which is to have IVF for embryo screening. I've no idea if that's the case, just speculating!

Doesn't she? Gorgeous, with that besotted new Mum look. Lovely.

sausawyee · 07/08/2024 17:47

She looked so lovely. What the heck has happened to age her so much in a few years? Bitterness? Living with Harry? Ambition? Dieting too much? Dog eating dog?
