It appears the ratings for the ESPYs vastly outstripped those for the men's final. I'll take that as it "didnt break the internet" as some had predicted. As the Wales 3 month well earned summer holidays will no doubt have begun it will left to H&M to make the summer hay whilst the sun still shines.

You’re incorrect. The ESPYs viewing figures were 2.64 million. Whereas the men’s final at Wimbledon peaked at a whopping 7.5 million! Almost 3 times that of the ESPYs viewing figures.

All these supporters with their untruths reminded me of another interesting article from Jack Royston. He’s usually a fan of the Sussexes but he is realising, like a lot of us that the Sussex supporters aren’t actually doing the Sussexes any favours at all due to fabrications, fake news and mistruths. (Not to mention the more sinister aspects of what they get up to).

“Break the internet” 🙄 this isn’t Tik Tok and we’re not 12.

Special.

I mean, domestic (ie US) viewing figures for a big multi sports award event celebrating largely domestic teams and competitors shown on a weekday evening on US time; versus US viewing figures for a UK based tennis match between 2 non US competitors you’d have had to get up at between 6 and 9am on a Sunday to watch. The phrase, no shit Sherlock comes to mind.

I’m asking, because I would like the person who posted the initial premise about viewing figures to share their source material.

ESPN YouTube channel figures for Prince Harry award: 299k views since 12 July.

ESPN YouTube channel figures for Princess Catherine’s arrival at Wimbledon: 1.8m views since 14 July.

MummyJ12 · 17/07/2024 16:11

Well I’ve provided mine! Showing that Wimbledon had around 3x the viewership of the ESPYs. Are they saying that the BBC are lying?!
What this poster isn’t telling anyone is that they are relying on the viewing figures through ESPY 🙄 of course more people are going to watch the ESPY awards through ESPY, it’s not rocket science. Wimbledon is streamed through the BBC of which overseas streaming was over 3 million. As always. Smoke and mirrors.

Brilliant. Thank you 🙏🏼

It’s ridiculous to say any National awards show would have more viewers than a world-wide popular sport like Wimbledon, regardless of who is attending or being awarded.

The vast majority of humanity don't know or care about the 'ESPYs'. It's a complete non concept outside of America.

However, the Wimbledon Final is one of the most iconic events in the global sports calendar, watched by millions all over the world.

Bizarre post and bizarre comparison.

Absolutely.
But they are so desperate to prove their delusions are real. Especially that H&M are so popular and Catherine isn’t. Unfortunately, it just makes them look crazed and stupid.

The equivalent comparison would be how many UK viewers watched the ESPYs versus the Wimbledon men’s final. Obviously it’s a nonsensical comparison. The latter would win hands down.

However, ESPN’s YouTube viewing figures of just Harry’s award and just Catherine’s arrival. Well I think they say it all.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 17/07/2024 16:36

Also, we should reserve judgment until @TheFirmBiscuit posts their evidence to support their post, as they may have different sources than those posted by @PopSockette .

MummyJ12 · 17/07/2024 16:37

And not just the figures but the overwhelming positive comments and the upvotes on the YouTube video of the men’s final compared to the ESPY awards video, which doesn’t have as many positive comments (and apparently they’ve had to turn the down vote function off or have hidden the numbers too).

Runnerinthenight · 17/07/2024 16:38

It's a pretty ridiculous notion that the ESPYs would come anywhere near Wimbledon. If you are going to blindly support the Sussexes whatever, at least check your facts because it makes you look very stupid otherwise!

And the Wales children don't have 3 months' summer holiday either! That's another piece of crap!

I’m pretty sure it was the same poster who questioned the official Netflix viewing figures on another thread ironically. (That proved them wrong yet again).

My point being that they are very quick to demand sources!

(edited to include the last bit!)

'It appears the ratings for the ESPYs vastly outstripped those for the men's final.'

Hahahaha hahahahahahahahahahah. Ha. The real information is easy to find - why bother with the whopping lies - you make yourself look ridiculous.

I mean the viewing ESPYs video of the Princess of Wales at Wimbledon far outstripped the Espy award and the comments are far more positive.

SentebalesChair · 17/07/2024 16:51

Can you back your claims though?
