She's had major abdominal surgery this year as well as preventative chemo, and she looked horribly unwell on the video she made. Any appearances would indicate an improvement in her health which is welcome news and I think it's great she feels well enough to do this.

I don't understand though why she is attending the men's final and didn't attend the ladies today, given that the match was guaranteed to be shorter. It's likely that tomorrow will be a 5 setter between the two players which means a long time to be sat for.

If you think for a moment, instead of being sneery and cynical, as pp have said, if she were to do something “less fun” and then she was not well enough to turn up, she would be
letting people down. The tennis will happen whether she is there or not as pp have said. She can also take a “time out” from sitting and watching and should she feel unwell she can leave and the Duchess of Gloucester is on standby to present the trophy. Maybe she wanted to have something to look forward to and had the Wimbledon final as her goal. Who really gives a flying fuck anyway. She has been unwell and I cannot imagine begrudging her some “fun”

If you read, I did purposefully say 'slightly more like work'. Attending engagements where it's guaranteed everyone will be polite and smile and hang on every word you say, is hardly what most people call work. But yes, doing something for a mental health charity won't be as 'fun' as a day out watching tennis.
