Kensington Palace have released a new photo of William and the children to mark his 42nd birthday. The photo was taken by Catherine.

I think it’s a trend. Lots of MNs seem to refer to themselves as Mama rather than Mummy. Modern pronunciation is different though. Mumma and Puppa not Mamaaah and Papaaah

Yes. Someone trying to mock the Wales children for using the term "Papa" is just mean and silly.

What was the caption, please, which you describe as 'not great grammar'? I've seen the greeting - "Happy birthday, Papa, we all love you so much." I don't see anything un-grammatical there. If it said, "I all love you so much", it would indeed be un-grammatical but I don't see a mistake with it as written.

Nothing, it's just yet another way to try to have a pop at the Wales family.

I think Charlotte, the late QE2 when small, Sarah Chatto when small, Lady Louise and the Princess Lilibet (!) , in the only picture I've ever seen of her, all have the same look about them.

I am elderly. I wonder if I will live long enough to see an 18-year-old Louis standing next to Michael Middleton.

Princess Lilibet reminds me a bit of Beatrice, with that light red hair and pale colouring. (Only from such images as released, mind).

Have seen very little of L but she looked to me a bit like Grandpa Markle in her 1st birthday pic. Reddish hair there too.

@Ohpleeeease I hope no one’s mentioned a resemblance to Grandpa M to Meghan, she wouldn’t like that at all. 😂

I mean, you’re not wrong, but Meghan herself has commented on having inherited the Markle nose from her father, so it wouldn’t be surprising for her children to pick up some features from that side of the family.

@Ohpleeeease She doesn’t seem too fond of the Markle side of the family nowadays. It’s a sad situation when people are estranged from nearly all of their family (on both sides).

I suspect his side of the family may have red/blond hair as well.

Never happens by chance though. I think Meghan’s background is very messy and there may be good reasons we don’t know about for her to have cut him off. But the genes won’t care.

The blog she ran until her engagement - The Tig - was always very flattering about Thomas Markle. How much she loved him, how much she owed him, what a great dad he was.
Mind you, that could all have been fiction for self promotion, couldn't it?

And I agree the likeneses amongst those girls - maybe Louise less so than the others. I see lots of her mum in her. Charlotte/ Sarah Chatto is a particularly strong likeness.
